Hello SecurityWarehouse I still havent got a bellbox for my system yet (Accenta G4)... I was thinking of getting one that is hardly visible and I wanted quality so I thought of Texecom! I have been looking at their Odyssey's and I think the 4E does just that. On your website, you have the Odyssey 4 and the Odyssey 4E live backplates in either clear or blue. If I was to get a "clear" 4E live backplate will the strobe lens be clear along the outside or blue? Basically the strobe is around the edge of the unit and I would like to know if that wrap around strobe reflector blue or clear? Its just i've seen pictures and some…

Hi, I have just received 5 x Pet Detectors PIR's (Texecom Prestige). Why don't they have brackets? The Prestige DT PIR's that I ordered a while ago from elsewhere came with brackets, so I assumed these would. Even the blurb on the box's suggests that they include brackets, although a sticker has also been placed on each box to say that they are available separately? I appreciate that some might not recommend brackets for installs, but for this particular job I wanted them... Any ideas..... Thanks, Chris

  3. Hi, I have just finished fitting a Honeywell Accenta Mini G4 with LCD control panel system to my house. I have got to the point of powering the system up and setting it up. The manual says "check that the factory fitted links are connected to the terminals PA, TAMP and T-A. I have fitted it to PA, the TAMP connections are being used for the other sensors on the system, and the T-A terminals are wired to the Bell Box. I then connect the mains power and the battery. The manual says there should be an audible indication, which there is. The 'power' light on the G4 main unit illuminates. The LCD keypad lights up and displays "Accenta G4 RKP F131-01-111". The 'power'…

I'm just powering up a Texecom Veritas Excel system with an LCD keypad. The keypad is receiving power as it is illuminated, the power LED is lit and the keypad is accepting key presses. However, the LCD display remains blank and displays no characters. Am I missing a configuration setting somewhere or is the keypad/panel faulty? Thanks!

  5. My alarm installer went missing last year and has left me with an alarm system that doesn't seem to be operating smoothly. He left me an engineers installation manual but the grandmaster code he wrote down doesn't work. So I took the panel off the wall and carried out the steps detailed in the Agility 3 manual page 17. When reconnecting power it makes the panel announce a tamper error and refuses to do anything on the keypad. Putting DIP switch 3 back in to the on position stops the errors but wont let me change PIN codes in the grandmaster menu. So i'm stuck at the moment.... what's the missing steps to complete a reset and change of the enginee…

Installed above alarm several weeks ago, the one only problem I have not been able to resolve is that there is no option to part set the system using program 2. Program 1 is the main program so I've set up program 2 so the landing pir is not used and intended to use this program at night. The instructions say enter CODE press P and select program number in this case 2 but I press number 2 but nothing happens and it stays set on program 1. I also have an LCD keypad upstairs for use at night. One thing the instructions say is that "the installer has to program the system for part operation", I presume this mean program 2 has to be set up which I've done or am I missing s…

  7. Now I've finally manage to install the alarm and test it. Everything seems to work fine except for one thing. I keep getting error message on line (line failure). I have connected a GSM module and no fixed phone line is connected. GSM-module works fine as I received an SMS on everything that happens or goes wrong. I must have changed somewhere in the menu to indicate that the center is connected to fixed telephone line! though it is not. I'm very grateful if anyone can help me with this.

  8. Just bought a Veritas panel from your good selves and am ready to fit. Aftr reading the enclosed paperwork I want to know if I need to change the dip switches (it will be the only one apart from the main panel) and do I need to configure it for 'Network devices'? If so what do I have to do?

Hello there i recently purchased some optex -70 sensors from yourself for replacement of the obsolete optex 100 plus ones. On going to install them I found that the old ones have more wires eight as the new 70 ones only have six. So I was looking to see if there is a way to convert the old ones to the new

  10. Can not connect to SPC connect with SPC 4320, ethernet works I've SPC 4320 with latest firmware 3.6.6. It is a completely new central and has never been connected SPC connect. From error messages it seems that spcconnect.com have problems, but Im not sure. Nice if someone can see if you enter the SPC connect today. If so, then the problem must be on My side. fine if you someone can look at the small details of the config and help with finding what I've done wrong. I have used the video below to double check my setup to connect SPC I can not run the registration of panel spcconnect, after I enter registeration ID and username password I get the message that "Can…

  11. Hi, I have a Eurosec CPX alarm system. I also have the engineer and user codes. I need to change the battery as it's probably eight years old. Please could someone give me a step by step guide as to how I disable the system so I can open the control unit without setting off the alarm. I am happy with the physical change of the battery. I have the 'User Instructions' but it does not cover battery replacement. I guess I would need a maintenance manual. I have also noticed that when I have a power cut the alarm goes off. Is this correct and if so how do I disable that function. It happened a couple of weeks ago when I was abroad on holiday, much to the i…

  12. Hi all, purchased this from security warehouse last year and just got round to installing it. I have wired up all sensors - 3 Pir`s and 1 door contact. I have an 16ohm external speaker connected to the system I have 1 Keypad connected to the system. 1 have one Lan card connected. I turned it on for the first time and i hear a time which confirms it has been turned on. I expect the keypad to light up but there is nothing from the keypad. The keypad does not light up. I have read if i hold down the D key it allows you to select the address and there is no response from either the one supplied with the system or the flush keypad i purchase addition…

  13. hi I have an accenta G4 which I purchased from you a while ago I never completed the installation due to illness, but now after a break in I decided to complete the installation. I have got to the point of setting up program but I get tamper fault lockout, I have checked all cabling and have even put link wires on all tamper circuits even the one on the lcd keypad. but I still get the same message. I have also made sure the panel spring is pressed, I have done a complete factory restore but still the same. do you have any ideas for me to try ? I am happy to replace the panel if it's faulty but I don't wish to waste money if it is something else. thanks in advance

I have got risco cpx and at times it would reboot itself, sometimes it could restart in 5 minutes and at time it can go on for days without doing it, I have seen it doing it and when it does happen the external bell will go off for 2-3 seconds and the panel will come up with default date/time, the only thing I can see in the log is watchdog reset. I am getting concerned now, not sure what could be wrong, if this was to do with any pir then it should have reported it but don't thing any pir could bring this down (or could it) I am after advice on how to troubleshoot this? but because this problem may go away for days I won't even know if whatever I have done would fix …

Hi, I'm after some advice on my Accenta G4 system, as with most good DIY project a purchased it a few months ago and only reently got round to fitting it (a wedding got in the way). Anyway i've installed it and powered the system up and two issues occur. 1) There is no power on light on the system or the key pad (or any light on any of the sensors). 2) Although the key pad (and alarm) operates (i'm assuming from the battery), when i enter the security code on the kep pad it says tamper lockout. Now i can accept that there may be a tamper fault somewhere but i wondering first whether its all related to the power problem and whether there is perhaps a f…

Installed a new Galaxy Flex 20 with mk8 keypad and a couple of RF zones. Had some previous issue with the tampers and low battery in a few PIRs but that has been sorted now. I have a new 7.2Ah battery fully charged. Problem is when I set the alarm I get this "ALERT-BATT LOW", ent=CONTINUE SET on the panel, and then after pressing enter "ALERT-FAULT RST" ent=CONTINUE SET. So I can set the system by ignoring these error, but what are these errors coming from and how to get rid of them?

  17. We get this question in support quite a lot. A Panel doesnt come with a battery as it needs to be sized to suit the demand of the system. Plus you need to consider recharge time and battery recharge load. Its never best practice to load a panel or power supply up to its maximum. Its like driving at maximum speed of the vehicle everywhere or having the music at full volume all the time. EN norms (the current UK standard for Intruder Alarms is EN50131 There are differing requirements for standby at Grade 1,2,3 and 4. Grade 2 and 3 systems are the majority of professional systems installed in the UK. Grade 2 requires a 12 hour standby time. Grade 3 24 hours (…

Hi, My existing system, which is about 15 years old, has become increasingly unreliable and I am now looking to replace the control panel, PIR's and external sounder. I am content with the current layout (four zones with door/window contacts and PAB's as well as PIR's) and the 6-wire cabling and other hardware is in good order. I would like the option of an auto-dialler to provide keyholder/mobile phone contact. I am considering the following items: Control Panel: ADE Optima Compact Gen4 with Enersys 12v 2.1 A/h Battery PIR: 3 x Scantronic 430 Passive Detector Pet Tolerant Sounder: Ventcroft Compact Classic Sounder c/w Cover A…

  19. Hello, Some years ago I installed a couple of Tate alarm systems. These were fairly simplistic but allowed the external siren (and any internal sound bomb) to be disabled on night set. Since then I've moved over to the Pyronix Sterling 10 as I wanted a full text log. The Sterling is OK but had no means to disable the sirens on part set and the log has no date/time stamp. I'm moving house again and will be installing a new alarm. I want a system with a date and time log and the ability to turn off any internal siren and just have the normal speaker tone on activation. I've always felt that deafening and disorientating an intruder with a sound bomb is probably more …

Ticket Question Hi, I have an old pyronix panel and paragon keypad on a wired system, I would like to replace it with a wired telecom panel and a nice looking keypad, would the bell box and PIRs and door/window contacts need changing? Or could you advise what panel and keypad would be suitable to change without changing all PIRs bell box and contacts? Or do you have a nice looking keypad that is comparable with the pyronix panel Many thanks Danny

I have a Risco GT 595 and my installer has just gone out of business. I managed to get the engineer access code from him following his demise but this is of little use without an engineer installation manual or support from Risco. Not being a registered installer neither are available from Risco. Can I get these elusive commodities via Security Warehouse? I notice that many Risco products listed on your site are Sold Out with the exception of user manuals. Is there a reason for this unusual demand? To be specific about my need for information; an outbuilding satellite alarm system linked by radio to the main system seems to register as a tamper fault despite it being in…

Hi, I have a Honeywell Galaxy 3 48 panel running V5.50 firmware. I've seen firmware for the Dimension 48 @ V6.79. Are these 2 panels the same and can I upgrade my panel to V6.79 firmware or are there hardware difference that cap my firmware @ V5.55? I always thought they were the same panel just with different firmware but after looking though info I'm no longer sure as to the compatibility. If I can upgrade, I'll purhcase the SPI key from security warehouse but will need some instructions on ow to perform the update. Thanks

Hi, I am having part of my garage converted into a small room with access only from a outside door. I would like to add this room to my 9448+ by adding a new zone. Can I add a door switch, movement sensor and extra keypad to this system? also I would like to set the alarm for this room at all times even when we are in, however we part set the alarm at night arming the downstairs zones. Would it be possible to part set the alarm and the new zone or will I have to manually omit the upstairs zones at night leaving the downstairs and the new room armed?

I just bought a SPC4320, SPCN310, SPCK623. The read me first datasheet tells: " you must ensure the peripheral firmware revision is the same as, or greater than the firmware revision of the SPC controller". On my SPC4320 controller, the firmware is V3.4.5. What must the firmware version for the SPCN310 and SPCK623? I tell this question because, the SPCN310 is in fault (error code E51) and the SPCK doesn't make voice annuniciation. What does error code E51 means? Thanks in advance SM
