Intruder Alarms

Hi. Does anybody know what the bell/strobe output is on this unit. I am changing a Scantronic 9200 control panel and don't want to have to buy a new bell unit. A link to a installation wiring diagram would be good! Thanks

I am almost there.. a few questions left. I am looking for a down to earth intruder alarm system for my house. My electrician will fit it. I think this ADE accenta will do. I am looking for a small external sounder. Is the Eurosec XS3D a good option? I would like to order the one with the orange bottom, so which items do I have to order? As I want to add a speech dialler in the future is it right that the only one ADE panel which supports this function is the ADE accenta metal Gen4? Or does the other models this as well? Hi, I have a Castle care-tech euro mini and need to add another PIR to a FSL zone which already has a PIR. i.e. I need to wire two PIR's in series. Unfortunately the manual does not give any details how to do this and I have not found any helpful information on the net either. I would be most grateful if someone can point me in the right direction to achieve this. Thanks in advance. Mel.

This is similar to another post below, I too have a texecom veritas system which is faulty, I have called their support desk and there are unhelpful and ofter cut me off if they can't find a solution. I too am ready to replace, I have been looking everywhere and tempted to get a professional around to install a new system but prices are unjustifiable, four figures to takeover an existed wired system and replace the panels, I think I must be paying for the Nacass approval badge!! Hello, Some years ago I installed a couple of Tate alarm systems. These were fairly simplistic but allowed the external siren (and any internal sound bomb) to be disabled on night set. Since then I've moved over to the Pyronix Sterling 10 as I wanted a full text log. The Sterling is OK but had no means to disable the sirens on part set and the log has no date/time stamp. I'm moving house again and will be installing a new alarm. I want a system with a date and time log and the ability to turn off any internal siren and just have the normal speaker tone on activation. hey, I currently have an ademco accord security system installed in my flat and the transformer has stopped working. I have recently just purchased a scantronic 9448+ and i was wondering if i could take the new transformer from the scantronic and put it in the ademco system so i dont have to rewire the system? thanks in advance

I have recently decorated so do not want to start routing new cables and lifting carpets/floorboards. The house is a 3 bed semi, so I don't need the highest spec system. Really need some help before I loose all my hair. Trying to set up premier 24 with 4XP expander. No matter which setting I use for the Address switch I can't get the expander to register as installed, just as 1 or 2 extra keypads. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance

My house alarm (veritas r8) keeps going off while unset. i walk around my house then go in to zone 2 (kitchen)where i have a PIR, the alarm goes off while unset, the keypad lights up indicating zone2 how do i stop this? thanx Daniel

Hi, I would like to fit a driveway alert (preferably wireless) so probably a narrow beam pir type thing, plus a gate openining alert. Basically when the gate opens or someone walks in the drive I would like a buzzer to go off inside the house. Is there an idiots kit?

can any body advise i need a sensor to cover a gateway to either make or break a contact when somthing or some one breaks the beam the problem is its a 30m gap and i can only get a cable to one side so it has to be reflective or single beam i can get plenty that do 10 meters but cant find any the do 30meters and fed from one side only does any one have any idea makes model cheers nick

Hello, My alarm panel has packed up so I'm replacing it. The bellbox has seen better days so replacing that as well. My original was a Scantronic 9448 so am going for the 9448EUR-90 control panel but can't decide which bellbox to go for. I'm stuck between Novagard 2 Merit , Ventcroft Compact Classic & Ventcroft Evolution. I want to know are they all compatable with my alarm system and which are reccomended? Thanks

Hello all I am in need of ome help please. My alarm has had it's first fault in 15 years by showing a mains failiure on the keypad. I have traced the fault and found that the power supply/transformer is knackered. 240 is going in but nowt coming out. Does anyone know if it's possible to get replacement power supply/transformers and if so where from. Cheers all. PB

hi i had a scantronic 9448+ style installed a number of years ago which has worked perfectly, but since the main fuse was knocked, the mains light on the panel does not illuminate and the panel does not power up. However, there is now a couple of lights on behind the keypad, which had all gone off after the main fuse was knocked out. Also, after the main fuse was knocked out there was a few weak noises from the panel...these have since stopped. Even trying to key in our code, there is no audible sound or any changes to the state of lifelessness. Can you advise us on how to remedy this problem, or suggest a 'like for like' replacement?
