Hi, Can I use the Optex PIRs with the GJD Digizone lighting controller? I want to use Outdoor PIRs that are not triggered by small animals. Thanks, Martin

  4. Hi I am interested in purchasing the Scantronic Homelink 55 system for use at my private residence - this will allow me to upgrade my existing system and utilise the alarm cabling with the added ability to install future wireless devices without the need to install any further cables. My query is this - when installing the alarm can all of the programming functionality be achieved by the use of the keypad included in the pack - or does any specialist device or software need to be purchased? Many thanks John

  5. Started by Dutser,

I'm looking to buy an additional keypad for my current Accenta 8. The current RKP is the 8EP219 which is now obsolete. Does anyone know whether the 8EP416 will work with this. The Smartset will work using PTS but I'd like a Keypad. Looking at the 8EP416 it looks to only be compatible with the G3 and G4, as too does the new LCD keypad. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I have just received 5 x Pet Detectors PIR's (Texecom Prestige). Why don't they have brackets? The Prestige DT PIR's that I ordered a while ago from elsewhere came with brackets, so I assumed these would. Even the blurb on the box's suggests that they include brackets, although a sticker has also been placed on each box to say that they are available separately? I appreciate that some might not recommend brackets for installs, but for this particular job I wanted them... Any ideas..... Thanks, Chris

What is the difference between the Texecom Veritas R8+ and the Veritas Excel??? According to the comparison chart there doesnt seem to be a difference in hardware? Is there a difference in software? If so what are these differences? Once again securitywarehouse* are the CHEAPEST by 68p with their competitors triton direct! Id use securitywarehouse though as you have good service!

Hi Could you tell me what passive would replace this one as it has 3 extra connections to the normal 6. These are marked C+ , E- , and FTA. There is a wire looped from the power minus connection to the FTA connection and a brown wire in the cable connected to the C+ connection. What is the purpose of these extra connections ? The reason for replacement is that this passive leaves the led indicator on permanently which doesn't seem correct. I have always used risco quads in my own setup and they seem very reliable. Would one of these fit the bill ? The panel is a Scantronic 9800. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction for a replacement. Thanks in a…

Hi, I am looking to upgrade my home alarm system and after reviewing your forum have a few questions that I hope you can help me with so that I order to correct system (and compatible components). Essentially, I have a new build with the developer fitted DCS Alarm branded as British Gas which seems to not meet any of my requirements. Basically I am hoping to upgrade this to something more usable and compatible with pets i.e. something that I can adjust zones (regions) as I see fit as the dog is quite large. I have contacted 3 of the larger installers in my area and given that two never kept their appointment and the other quoted just under

Is it necessary to solder in-line resistors to all the zone inputs i.e. E/E, PIR and door contacts? With my old Scantronic 9200 I just connected the contacts straight across the inputs on the PCB. The scematic shows a resistor on the e/e input. Thanks

  15. Hi. Does anybody know what the bell/strobe output is on this unit. I am changing a Scantronic 9200 control panel and don't want to have to buy a new bell unit. A link to a installation wiring diagram would be good! Thanks

I am almost there.. a few questions left. I am looking for a down to earth intruder alarm system for my house. My electrician will fit it. I think this ADE accenta will do. I am looking for a small external sounder. Is the Eurosec XS3D a good option? I would like to order the one with the orange bottom, so which items do I have to order? As I want to add a speech dialler in the future is it right that the only one ADE panel which supports this function is the ADE accenta metal Gen4? Or does the other models this as well? Which battery should go with this metal ADE accenta? My electrician wired 4 core wires to the PIRs. Is that OK for standard PIRs? If so wh…

Would any one have a manual for the panel. The one I'm working on is about 8 years old. Cant find a manual anywhere, want to check the manual before I condemn it! Thanks

Hi, I have a Castle care-tech euro mini and need to add another PIR to a FSL zone which already has a PIR. i.e. I need to wire two PIR's in series. Unfortunately the manual does not give any details how to do this and I have not found any helpful information on the net either. I would be most grateful if someone can point me in the right direction to achieve this. Thanks in advance. Mel.

  20. This is similar to another post below, I too have a texecom veritas system which is faulty, I have called their support desk and there are unhelpful and ofter cut me off if they can't find a solution. I too am ready to replace, I have been looking everywhere and tempted to get a professional around to install a new system but prices are unjustifiable, four figures to takeover an existed wired system and replace the panels, I think I must be paying for the Nacass approval badge!! I am about replaced all my working PIRs with a Bosch BLP-1P pet friendly ones. I need to replace the system, the reason is the guy who installed it last year couldn't get the two bell boxes t…

  21. Hello, Some years ago I installed a couple of Tate alarm systems. These were fairly simplistic but allowed the external siren (and any internal sound bomb) to be disabled on night set. Since then I've moved over to the Pyronix Sterling 10 as I wanted a full text log. The Sterling is OK but had no means to disable the sirens on part set and the log has no date/time stamp. I'm moving house again and will be installing a new alarm. I want a system with a date and time log and the ability to turn off any internal siren and just have the normal speaker tone on activation. I've always felt that deafening and disorientating an intruder with a sound bomb is probably more …
