Hi, I am moving a scantronic panel a couple of foot away and I will be powering the system down. The issue is I don't want to climb ladder to disable the bellbox. Can I just short the Tamper and 0V from the bellbox to stop the SAB ringing. Any Advice will be appriciated thanks.

  5. Dear Sir / Madam. I am looking at replacing my aged Yale SA5 alarm system with a product from your company and i was looking at the Scantronic i-on40 with wired kp's for a solution. Does the system allow Remote turn off via a PSTN network or over the public internet via a login. If not could you suggest a more appropriate solution. Thank you for your time. Regards Paul

  6. I want to use 12volt bells as my warning devices but I've been told that they will burn out the microprocessors on modern control panels. Is this just a way for the trade installer to put me off doing it myself or is there any truth in what he's saying.

  9. Hi I need to check a couple of things... 1. If I order the "Castle Care-Tech Euro One (includes LCD keypad)" from your site - part number EUR-1024... it says you get the panel and the remote keypad - is the keypad fitted with the Prox sensor for proximity fobs? 2. If it is how many fobs come with the panel? 3. We have never fitted this panel and have tried to get the engineer/installation manual from the Castle Care Tech website and it is password protected... we have registered with them but heard nothing yet - does the panel ship with installation/setup details? 4. do you have to use the Castle Care-Tech proximity fobs, or can you programme the cheaper ADE Ho…

  13. Started by Nhoj,

Was wondering if anybody has detail for the Scantronic Plug-in footprint used by the 960? I wanted to hook this speech dialer up to an alarm that does not have the Scantronic footprint. If I could get hold of the spec for the two connectors of the 960 I could then jury rig a connector (or spade terminals) to tease out the 4 standard triggers as well as the line fail signal. I could also take care of any other inputs that need to be dealt with. Any ideas? I've done an extensive web search for detail of the footprint but have not found anything. Thanks John

Hi informa bought with accenta poly gen4 (LCD Keypad) on 23 March. Alarm installed ok. Informa wired as per instructions. Programmed phone number and recorded message. When testing, you can hear number being dialled on the infoma box and then shortly after you hear the recorded message but the programmed telephone does not ring. Tried it with different numbers and programmed the number on 1,2&3. When trying it with a mobile phone number, the mobile didn\'t ring but received a missed call from the unit about 5 minutes later (this didn\'t happen everytime we tried the mobile - nothing came through). thanks

Is the 9448 manual the same or similar to the 9448+ manual as I need to gain access to the panel without it going into full alarm. Or can anyone tell me how this can be done. I have installed many Optimas over the years but never got involved with Scantronic.

Hi, I hope somebody can shed a light on this fault I have on the Texecom Excel panel. Installed this on Saturday but Zone 6 keeps triggering after being armed after a few minutes. Checked the Pir and that seems OK. So removed the Pir in circuit and strapped a 10K resister in Z6 but still activates after a few minutes. Is there a simple solution to this or a faulty panel. All other zones are working good. Using EOL method. Thanks in advance.

Do you sell both MCT-302 and MCT-302T? The information in the text on the site talks about both items but in the end it is indicated that you only sell MCT-302. Is this correct?

Hi. After installing a new accenta mini today i was ready to power up. connected mains but on connecting battery connections i saw the battery fuse blow. I checked all wiring, found to be correct and changed the fuse, connected battery and again the fuse blew immediately. I then disconnected all wiring from the system, i.e. bells and detectors, so it was 'as arrived new' and again, replaced battery fuse, powered mains and connected battery and the same thing happened again. I left battery & fuse out and powered up from mains. Alarm seemed to be working ok but i then noticed smoke coming from a resistor above and slightly right to the battery fuse, so i…

Hello, We recently moved into a house that has a non functional wired ITEC Meridian panel (prob. 20 years old?). It has power to it but the front keypad does not respond to any key presses, and the alarm it not activated by the tamper switches on the panel door. The last occupiers never used it (over 12 years or so) and did not have any codes or manuals so I was thinking that the easiest solution would be to fit a new panel. I've no experience with alarms but I am an electronics engineer so am happy to give it a try with some helpful advice:) Present zone layout: Z1: PIR on stairs (6 core cable) Z2: Garage door magnetic reed switch (6 core cable) Z3: 5 of GS610…

  25. Hello At present I have a hired alarm system (in Sweden) from Honeywell, the main central is a CMI8NE-SDI4G (with mobile as well as wired telephone connection) I will not renew the rental agreement when it ends soon, hence the CMI8NE-SDI4G will be returned to the company. All other Items such as one keypad (CSK8NE-SDI-, two smoke detectors (DTO600HF-, one PIR (IRX800HFCT- and one magnetic switch (DOD800HF- will stay as my property. I will like to buy a new main central and have found a CMI8UK-STD, will this be compatible with the items mentioned above, and can it all be programmed by using a TCU2-800 mobile keypad? Flemming
