Intruder Alarms

Hello I have installed system now, only one Magnet contat for Door entry.(Elmdene EN3-LSC) I've done programming. Disable all but door contact. When arming system: Door 'n Hall fails. System don't arm, only beeping( Program 1 set). Walk test gives 0 to Door What's wrong: is my door contact wrong kind, maybe false wiring or missprogramming ? Please help ! Respect !

Please can anyone help resolve this problem with Intruder Alarm system Scantronic 9800+. (9827) In brief, there is a code showing as bF which I understand through d/loading the User manual means: battery fault on the control panel. The alarm has been going off several times a day for nearly a week and I disconnected the ringer several days ago but am too worried to open up the control panel in case it then goes off again and I can't press the code to stop the noise once the faccia is removed. I have recently installed risco CPX control panel and have done some programming but it would be nice to have a manual/guide which describe every options in details, has anyone got any guide/manual please? How do I change the master default code of 5678? I have managed to changed the engineer default code from 1234, now when I enter the master code the alarm sets off even though I say "NO" to set system option, any idea what wrong I must have done? thanks

Hi I prevously bought a Powermax + system from you and I'm having two problems. I can't seem to be able to pair the external siren (MCS 710). I follow the instructions to the letter but when I transmit and press the self test button no pairing is done, it just start sounding (loud) My second problem is similar, I try to pair the MCM 140 keypad and it feels like the pairing is complete but I can not turn on the alarm via the keypad. I'm I missing someting here? Best regards

happy new year to everyone! I am programing the panel but not sure which zone type to select for lounge and other areas as there seems to be quite a few to choose from (alert, 24, monitor, ext/en etc) can someone please help me with what they all mean in cpx. I know what a ext/en is and I have selected my front door one as ext/ex but now sure what should others come under, I just want the others to fire when the alarm is set. a programing/engineer manual would be handy if anyone has got it please thanks

Hi! I purchased an alarm system, a Viasonic Powermax+, from you in september 2009. Since we have 3 cats (weight 4,2 4,2 and 3,5 kg) I got the pet tolerant PIR:s. Tha alarm has been working perfectly until last night when we all woke up from the sounding alarm. When you wake up at 4 AM from a deep sleep and realize that the alarm you have come to rely on not giving false alarms, is sounding, you get up really quick, I promise. Armed with a knife and a steel pipe I searched the house but found nothing. Since we have a lot of snow I could also check for tracks outside the windows and back door, but nothing. Hi Guys I need some advice I have a five bedroom house, no pets, 2 children and need an alarm system lol. The incumbent is a old scantronic which needs to be replaced I need auto dial and all the usual good stuff [im a bit of a techy!] PIR - Quad Tec good? Any recommendations? In terms of the panel and PIR makes - what do people recommend? Ill need 2 Bell Boxes [one live one dummy] Total PIRs : 6 Door contacts : 4 Dont mind if its code or key fob Any recommendations?

Hi I have bought a new remote fob for my Scantronic 500r+ alarm system. I have managed to get the system to "learn" the new remote but the new remote will not set my alarm. Can anyone help?

We have had an electrician wire up the alarm and the alarm did go off when he tested it. When you set the alarm, however, it does not go off when you walk passed either of the 2 pir's fitted to the system. He has gone home and given up! any ideas??

Hi I am interested in purchasing the Scantronic Homelink 55 system for use at my private residence - this will allow me to upgrade my existing system and utilise the alarm cabling with the added ability to install future wireless devices without the need to install any further cables. My query is this - when installing the alarm can all of the programming functionality be achieved by the use of the keypad included in the pack - or does any specialist device or software need to be purchased? I'm looking to buy an additional keypad for my current Accenta 8. The current RKP is the 8EP219 which is now obsolete. Does anyone know whether the 8EP416 will work with this. The Smartset will work using PTS but I'd like a Keypad. Looking at the 8EP416 it looks to only be compatible with the G3 and G4, as too does the new LCD keypad. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I have just received 5 x Pet Detectors PIR's (Texecom Prestige). Why don't they have brackets? The Prestige DT PIR's that I ordered a while ago from elsewhere came with brackets, so I assumed these would. Even the blurb on the box's suggests that they include brackets, although a sticker has also been placed on each box to say that they are available separately? I appreciate that some might not recommend brackets for installs, but for this particular job I wanted them... Any ideas..... Thanks, Chris

What is the difference between the Texecom Veritas R8+ and the Veritas Excel??? According to the comparison chart there doesnt seem to be a difference in hardware? Is there a difference in software? Hi Could you tell me what passive would replace this one as it has 3 extra connections to the normal 6. These are marked C+ , E- , and FTA. There is a wire looped from the power minus connection to the FTA connection and a brown wire in the cable connected to the C+ connection. What is the purpose of these extra connections ? The reason for replacement is that this passive leaves the led indicator on permanently which doesn't seem correct. I have always used risco quads in my own setup and they seem very reliable. Hi, I am looking to upgrade my home alarm system and after reviewing your forum have a few questions that I hope you can help me with so that I order to correct system (and compatible components). Essentially, I have a new build with the developer fitted DCS Alarm branded as British Gas which seems to not meet any of my requirements. Basically I am hoping to upgrade this to something more usable and compatible with pets i.e. something that I can adjust zones (regions) as I see fit as the dog is quite large. Is it necessary to solder in-line resistors to all the zone inputs i.e. E/E, PIR and door contacts? With my old Scantronic 9200 I just connected the contacts straight across the inputs on the PCB. The scematic shows a resistor on the e/e input. Thanks
