I am trying to install Scantronic 9448EUR-90 board with two Takex MS100E multi pattern sensors connected in series on Zone 2 (all other zones are disabled) and Elmdene Quartz 1000live sounder. My problem is that control panel shows temper fault - all boxes are closed, all cable connections verified. If I reset the panel by disconnecting battery and main supply the temper light will go off Zone 2 light will go on and when you try to set the alarm with users code the temper lights come up on again. Could somebody recommend how I can solved the problem?

The latest Dimension Installation Manual (just sent to me by Honeywell) does not mention this portal, but in relation to the RF Rio advises the installer to refer to the instructions that come with the modules. There are no instructions provided with the Portal on registering the devices. The Keypad asks for the serial numbers of the devices, but none of the devices actually identifies any of its numbers as serial numbers. The unique numbers on the D0800M wireless door magnets are too long to be accepted by the keypad. The only numeric-only unique numbers on the DTP18M devices (on a sticky label on the side of the batteries) appear to be accepted but their signals are…

I am looking to replace my current alarm system with a new modern system. One of my main requirements is to allow remote access to the system, and so I am looking at the Scantronic i-on 40. Although all of my sensors are wired the wireless capability will be handy if I have to upgrade in the future. I also require SMS messaging through GSM and PSTN so would be looking to also install these modules as well as one extra wireless keypad. My main concern at the moment is how the wired sensors and PIRs are connected to the i-on 40 system to ensure it will work with my current installation. Can you provide any information as to how the zones are wired on the system, or are …

I purchased 2 M12 smoke detectors from you, which I wish to use with the Honeywell Accenta Mini Gen4 security system. The engineers manual shows 2 wires, to a smoke detector with a relay base for output to intruder system. On the M12 do I use the 0v +12v terminals or the fire zone?

Item Scantronic 9651UK with 9941 keypad. I installed this control unit to replace another 9651 unit which had developed a fault. After installation I tried to exit the 'Installer Mode' and the unit reported 'Zone Flt' on zones Z01 through Z08 and the Service LED is permanently illuminated. I have checked power to the Ziper intruder detectors and circuit continuity for the FSLs and they seem to be OK. I did notice that the 9651 unit had a manufacturer's date of Jan 05, so it seems to have been in storage for some considerable time but that aside I would appreciate some assistance in identifying where the problem lies and if it is a defective unit, getting it swapped out.…

Do you supply a vandal resistant keypad that has either a USB or RS232 interface. USB is preferred. I think that the Storm 1000 keypad does have an RS232 output. Can you confirm this, and could you get stock of this item if you do not already ? Thanks in advance.

I have a GC Simon wireless alarm system (model: 60-911-010-4-IE) and one of my door sensors has developed a problem and needs to be replaced. However I am having great difficulty in sourcing a suitable replacement. I did by a recommended replacement from the USA but this did not work. I think because the system I have is 433Mhz and the new sensor was 319Mhz. Can you recommend a replacement sensor and where I may purchase same. Thanks in advance and regards

I would like to install either a Honeywell Galaxy 2-20 or 2-44. The house is very large with detached garages 10m away. Because the majority of the house floors can not be lifted and the decoration disturbed a wireless system must be fitted. This does not seem to be a problem for the Galaxy G2. Initial assessment suggest that in excess of 40 wireless detectors are required (dual-tec, door contacts, smoke alarms etc). As far as I can tell from the Honeywell specs there is no limit to the number of wireless detectors that can be added to the system, is this correct? Without doing a detailed RF site survey I anticipate that 2 RF portals will be required, the …

From product information on the manufacturer's website I was under the impression that the backup battery was supplied with the Scantronic i-on 40. Since this is not the case can you recommend a suitable battery for this system?

Hi, hoping you can help. Following a recent burglary thought I'd try and fix my alarm system! I've currently got a 12 year old Optima system that doesn't really work. Wondering if a new battery would fix it, or should I simply replace the unit with an upgrade? I have a number of wired sensors around the home, not sure if I should replace or keep? External sounder may also need an upgrade, as well as placing an additional box on the front of the house, not sure if I should fit a dummy box,or wire in an additional sounder? Added consideration, I would like to alarm my garage, thought I could use old box? but would need door sensors x 3, as birds get in etc. I'm basically wo…
