  1. The 4 uses a back strobe, ie no lens but the whole of the backplate should flash. However units with strobe lens's are more visible in the daylight. The oddy series all use xenon tubes ie not LED. You can disconnect the internal battery but that will remove some protection for the bell, ie if the unit is removed from the wall it would use its internal battery to self actuate.   2. There is nothing wrong with scantronic sensors at all. I was just providing an example. with all pro panel you can use virtually any hardwired pro sensor. There is no requirement with hardwired to use all equipment from the same manufacturer. ie not all manufactures make panels and sensors, ie optex dont make a panel as far as i know. The air movement id expect from a fish tank would be minimal so i wouldnt worry. Unless its like a fan heater! There shouldnt be a need for pet tolerant sensors with a fish tank as they are behind glass. I am generalising as i havnt seen your application. James
  3. Id agree with you. Might want to look at the M12 unit as that is programmable for fixed heat/rate of rise heat/smoke and/or any combination so covers most installs. Glad your sorted. James
  4. when you say you have wired to zone 3 do you mean you have connected A & B to zone 3? you will need to program the zone. The only things i can suggest is test the relay on the detector with a meter. Also your panel isnt in EOL configuration is it? How are you testing it? and where are you expecting the sound to come from, ie of the panel is programmed for double pole and correctly set up, disconnecting A or B should result in an alarm at the panel.

    If i recall. (i dont have access to my manuals) then B1 and B2 are output 1 and 2. These are then programmed as bell and strobe by default.

  17. ok so using your supplied current draws 7 x 16mA = 112mA 4 x 7.5mA = 30mA 112mA + 30mA = 142mA 142mA = 0.142A so unless you have a maglock on it somewhere i reakon youve got your decimal points mixed up James
  18. Id suggest you are getting your decimal places mixed up. What have you calculated your total load to be?

  21. Yes i would have a single keypad on it as well. My bad i assumed you had an optima. I should never assume! Have you got more then 1 simple set reader? If so is that functioning as expected?
  22. Easiest way to get a day mode current is to put your meter in series with the battery and remove the mains. All current will then be off the battery and will give a quescient current. Once that is done put the mains back on and meter the batt leads with the batt disconnected and connected. That will give us a charge voltage. James
  23. The standalone reader will only give you a volateg output on valid tag/card. The HID unit will output data. However this infomation is not in the public domain. Depending on what you want to do, you would be better off going for an access system based on ms sql and then queriing the db direct, or using a system that gives a 232 output and getting your data from their. Actually reading the data reader would be difficult IMO. James
