DO you have a short on your 12v outputs or bell supplies? I would disconnect everything from your panel incase you have a wiring fault. can you post a picture of the panel and wiring etc. James
-
No that wont stop it. Im afraid there isnt anoter way to disable the hold off without getting to the bell.
-
Hassan This occurs when the battery is conneced the wrong way. ie reverse polarity. If you disconnected it quick enough then the panel will be fine.

[Ticket Question] Telephone control of alarm
Secware_Tech6 replied to Secware_Tech6's topic in Intruder Alarms
as above. Using free centre numbers can have issues. They are under the control of the networks. The only panel unaffected by this are the castle units as they update their settings from the castle host computer. These have updated themselves. to be fair the cost of std digicom monitoring is low and is 100% reliable. SMS is not and should IMHO never be used as a primary sinalling method. -
[Ticket Question] Telephone control of alarm
Secware_Tech6 replied to Secware_Tech6's topic in Intruder Alarms
Paul You can connect to the ion40 with a web browser or pc etc. the visonic powermax and risco wisdom allow control over a touchtone phone. -
Dear Sir / Madam. I am looking at replacing my aged Yale SA5 alarm system with a product from your company and i was looking at the Scantronic i-on40 with wired kp's for a solution. Does the system allow Remote turn off via a PSTN network or over the public internet via a login. If not could you suggest a more appropriate solution. Thank you for your time. Regards Paul

[Ticket Question] LED's on vibration sensors
Secware_Tech6 replied to Secware_Tech6's topic in Intruder Alarms
David. A lin in this case is alink of wire between 2 terminals. A switch is an internal switch on the unit. A basic door / window contact is 95p http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=667 -
I am considering purchasing some sensors and require the red flashing light to be activated as a visual deterant when the alarm is ON and also when it is OFF. I am currently looking at the Viper GL-W thats says the LED is activated by LINK and the GLX-W that says is activated by SWITCH. Can you please explain what the difference is between LINK and SWITCH. Also, The GLX-W PC.09000-20 is priced at

[Ticket Question] Castle Care tech Euro One
Secware_Tech6 replied to Secware_Tech6's topic in Intruder Alarms
Tony 1.Yes the euro one comes with a prox keypad 2. None 3. Yes 4. Fobs are usually linked to panels. I havnt tested it myself. I know the scantronic and menvier and galaxy fobs are interchangable. Sorry i know that doesnt answer your question. -
Hi I need to check a couple of things... 1. If I order the "Castle Care-Tech Euro One (includes LCD keypad)" from your site - part number EUR-1024... it says you get the panel and the remote keypad - is the keypad fitted with the Prox sensor for proximity fobs? 2. If it is how many fobs come with the panel? 3. We have never fitted this panel and have tried to get the engineer/installation manual from the Castle Care Tech website and it is password protected... we have registered with them but heard nothing yet - does the panel ship with installation/setup details? 4. do you have to use the Castle Care-Tech proximity fobs, or can you programme the cheaper ADE Honeywell Easy Set Fobs? Thanks in advance Tony

[Ticket Question] Solenoid Bell connected to intruder panel
Secware_Tech6 replied to Secware_Tech6's topic in Intruder Alarms
Motorised bells should be ok. But yes he is correct. Solenoid bells can create large 'back emf' that will damage the control panel. It can be done but the bell needs to be isolated from the control panel. You will also then need to protect the dedicated psu used to drive it. Its cheaper and better to use a modern electronic sounder unit, unless you have a real need for it then id avoid. James -
the 8 core will be fine just leave 2 of the cores spare. re the speaker you can't run that from the keypad. its also not advised to run a speaker signal with any other cables. it would work but can cause data corruption on the keypad lines. your mileage may vary
-
as above. Which part are you struggling on?
-
Im sorry we cant publish that infomation on a public forum for obvious reasons. James

the 816 & 595 have 8 onboard zones. adding the rf expander will give an additional 8 wireless zones.
-
most plug on comms use a 5v as well as a 12v supply. Do you have 5v available?
-
do you have a std bt telephone line, or is it a voip line / 21cn line?
-
any pir that has clean outputs will work with the wired zones on the powermax, there isnt a specific sensor. Or do you mean wired visonic detectors?
-
how many wired zones do you need?
-
All the rf equipment we stock is 868 MHz as that is the current UK freq. Unless its stated as we do stock some older 433 etc parts for older system expansion.
-
yes you would need to recable. If you used an EOL panel you could use 2 cores for power and 2 for zone. You would need to remove the power to reset them after an alarm. SO you either need a panel that has that output or remove the power via a switch.
-
The powermax will do what you want and you can connect to it from a computer. However this isnt IP and the pc must dial the panel. This may be a problem to you. You might want to look at the scantronic i-on40 as this has remote access via iphone, netbook etc. Im afraid i dont know anything about the 'KNX' system. The powermax does have an x10 module.

[Ticket Question] Rafiki twin flex 8 zone panel
Secware_Tech6 replied to Secware's topic in Fire Alarms & Emergency Lighting
An earth fault is usually due to a cable fault or a core shorting to earth somewhere. You will need to find and recitify this before anything else. 8 zone panels are the same just bigger. Ensure you havnt connected the cable shield (it isnt a functional earth) to any devices or back boxes. -
Some of the scantronic panels have anaylsed zones so this might be an obvious choice. Other that that you will need an analyser for the non powered initia sensors, or replace them with powered versions.
