  1. The strobe- on the gen4 is the switched output for the strobe. Your strobe itself will need the switched neg to trigger it. Depending on your bell (some bells use a switched pos strobe) do you have a picture of the bell connections or know what it is?
  2. Honeywell do not supply engineer manuals with their bigger panels. We can send an electronic version if required for panels that have bee ordered. Support
  3. The only way to be 100% is to measure the current as installed. You can make make a rough calculation from the manufactures supplied specs so generic pir (is215) = 16mA Prox keypad (Texecom premier) = 90mA Smoke detector (Menvier M12) = 1mA Door contacts wont use any current Panel (texecom premier) = 70mA SAB (AG6) = 35mA Totals Pirs 6x16 = 96mA Keypads 2 x90 = 180mA smoke = 2x1 = 2mA Panel = 70mA SAB = 35mA total = 383mA WOrking it out the BS4737 way (8 hours standby + 30mins alarm) = 383 x 8 = 3064mA I would add a 10% margin to allow for battery aging 3064 + 306mA = 3370mA There isnt a battery that size so id use a 7A/h battery (7000mA/h) that would give approx 15 hours standby time. Obviously these are calculated values and you need to confirm them with a meter.

  6. Chris Your battery needs to be sized based on the load. There are minumum requirements re standby time depending on the version of the regs your using, ie older BS4737 or newer BS EN 50131 re smoke detector any of the texecom unit will work fine but personally id use a menvier M12 unit as its 3 sensors in one and can be programmed at the sensor to detect as required, ie heat / smoke / rate of rise or a combination of those. Door contacts You can use any normal double pole contact and fit eol resistors or use a contact with built in resistors ie the elmdene / knight graded units.
  7. Emergency Lighting Routine Testing Requirements EN50172:2005 requires that at times of minimum risk the system is routinely tested. The following regime taken directly from the standard shows how often and what should be tested. This is only a brief overview and full consultation with the standard is advised Daily A visual inspection of every maintained emergency luminaire to ensure the lamp is operating correctly and in central or generator based systems that the control panel or indicators are showing normal conditions. Any faults must be entered into the system logbook and a check that any previously reported faults have received attention. Monthly * Self-contained emergency luminaires should be energized from their internal batteries by simulation of the supply, for sufficient time to ensure correct lamp operation and light output. * Central systems shall be energized from their batteries for a period not exceeding 25% of their capacity and all emergency luminaires checked for correct lamp operation and light output. * Generator systems shall be energised for their full rated duration and the lamps checked for correct operation and light output throughout the test. Six Monthly * All self-contained and central battery 3 hour emergency systems shall be continuously energized from their internal battery packs for a period of one-hour and the lamps checked for correct operation and light output. * Generator supplied systems should have the monthly test applied. Three Yearly * Self-contained emergency luminaires shall be energized from their internal batteries for their full rated duration and the lamps checked for correct operation and light output throughout the test. * Central systems shall be energised for their full rated duration and the lamps checked for correct operation and light output throughout the test. Note For Self-contained emergency luminaires the 3 year test should be carried out annually

  9. Have you set 4.6.1 GSM Installation to 'Installed' In the installation menu ?
  10. can you use the other gsm module functions or is it just sms that fails?
  11. The sim doesnt have a sim lock on it does it? Have you tested it works in a phone?
  12. You will need to contact honeywell, it is only available to licenced installers.
  13. Ravis, i think Bobs intention was to have the backlight illuminated all the time, not just during keypress's etc.

  15. Also the spec of the resistor is relevant, you can use any that match that spec. I would suggest they are 4k7 not 47k. We do have packs of resistors for various panels listed. But as above i would of assumed a pack would come witrh the panel
  16. BOb There is an unsupported way. The Accenta keypad uses 2 transistors to control the backlight. These can be bypassed. Obviously any pcb mod will invalidate the warranty and is not a security warehouse supported mod. Anyway I have attached a picture showing the location of the transistors.
  17. MIght be easier and more stable to add a gsm dialler with hardwired inputs.
  18. no if you use eol without pairing you will have 8 zones, but with individual tamper detection. using zone doubling would give 16 circuits
  19. AGreed, i would swap the sensor with another room to see if the fault moves. If it did then i would assume the unit was faulty. Another test after that is to mask the unit completly.
  20. Great thanks As you have a high security Grade 3 contact there it needs to be a little closer. As a temp measure for testing, remove the magney and temp affix next to the contact (ie right next to it) and it should clear. James

  22. That sounds right. Have you got the magnet correctly alligned? If unsure post a pic of the unit as installed with the door closed.

  25. Good actions so far. Is it always the same pir? If so what room is it and do you have any stairs etc in view. The biggest problem with cars and pet pirs is them getting close to the sensor ie within 6ft or so. Is that possible? The cold can and does affect pir's but im assuming your house is heated so the temp will be pretty constant. Also with temp compensating pir's they would get less sensitive in a cold environment not more (its easier for the sensor to see body heat when its colder)
