Disabling SAB Bellbox

Hi, I am moving a scantronic panel a couple of foot away and I will be powering the system down.

The issue is I don't want to climb ladder to disable the bellbox.

Can I just short the Tamper and 0V from the bellbox to stop the SAB ringing.

Any Advice will be appriciated thanks.
