Intruder alarms, programming, design advise, detector selection.

  1. Today I purchased a copy of Wintex from yourselves. I have downloaded the Wintex zip file multiple times and it will not open. The Zip file is corrupt. I have attempted to open it in 7-zip and Winzip and neither of them will open it. They both say that the Wintex download is corrupt. Please advise as I need to get this open ASAP as I am trying to commission my alarm system.

Hi all Looking to purchase a wireless alarm for my house. 5pir's, 1 contact, panel. Would like to use existing wired bell box if possible. A good battery life would also be nice. Been looking at the infinite prime alarm, and the visonic powermax kit. The Scantronic 500r also looks ok Only problem is that the powermax plugs in with a plug in transformer, wouldn'y that be easy to defeat by a burglar? Any advice would be great Thanks Josh

  7. wanted to know if it was compatable with the older version

  8. Hi I need a full system. The main building requires 9 zones and there is an outbuilding within 15 yards of the main building which has mains power and requires 2 zones. I believe that for the outbuilding I need a wireless expander as I do not want to fit wireless sensors. The main building is suitable for a wired setup. I would appreciate some guidance on a suitable, cost effective control panel and accessories.

Hi I want to add a magnetic lock that released when the panel is unset. I see there are 2 outputs on the Premier 48 both that can take 1A but this seems alot. is it really ok to wire directly on to the pannel without needing a relay. Im thinking of running the SSP Mini Magnetic Lock unmonitored on the door conserned. if I do need a relay do you have a prepackaged one with power supply etc? Any help apprecated. Rob

  15. Just purchased a host of intruder alarm equipment from you - it arrived yesterday. The control panel is the Texecom Premier 48. Does this panel have an intergrated sounder that will sound when the alarm is activated (entry/exit and on activation) or do I have to buy something additional?

I used the Honeywell Activ8 PIR in an installation in a house where they have a cat. I have set the tolerance to 15kg and pulse to medium (jumper link between 2 and 3) There have been a few false alarms in different rooms and none of the sensors face a window or stairs, there are chairs and sofas though. I have changed the sensors to the highest tolerance yesterday - 25kg and fitted the jumper link between 3 and 4. Which I wouldn't think is necessary for a cat. Is there anything i may have missed that caused that problem? I don't know yet whether the change I made is good yet as i've only done it yesterday. Is it maybe because it's a relatively cheap pet se…

  19. I have the above as part of my alarm system. The external sounder does not seem to be operating although it seems to try. The strobe lights still flash when the system is set. I assume this is something to do with the piezo in the unit rather than a fuse. The unit is about 5 years old. If I buy the back plate will that come with everything I need to replace the sounder and is it likely that the fixings will line up or has the design been changed?

  24. I am looking to alarm my workshop. It consists of 3 rooms currently with plans to add another room in the future. There are 2 up and over doors, 1 standard access door and 1 double split opening door. 2 of these doors will be entry points with a keypad located close by. Only one of the rooms has a window. There is a cat flap in one of the doors for pet access. I have been looking on your website and come up with the following list of products for the system based around a Honeywell Accenta G4 Mini panel. I chose this panel because of price and expandability. Can you tell me if all the items on the list below are compatible ? Is there anything missing from the list that I …
