Intruder Alarms

I'm just powering up a Texecom Veritas Excel system with an LCD keypad. The keypad is receiving power as it is illuminated, the power LED is lit and the keypad is accepting key presses. However, the LCD display remains blank and displays no characters. Am I missing a configuration setting somewhere or is the keypad/panel faulty? Thanks!

We are building a garage at present and want to use a wired alarm (we normally use the Pyronix euro mini) but we also want a remote wireless key fob that uses the 433mhz frequency so that we can add this new alarm onto the existing key fob that controls the auto gates, outside lights and the garage door. The Pyronix KEYFOB-WE is on the 868mhz frequency as are most of the main manufacturers key fobs. Is there either a good company making a wired system with a 433mhz fob available or a 433mhz wireless alarm expander/key fob that can be added to a Pyronix alarm? I have got risco cpx and at times it would reboot itself, sometimes it could restart in 5 minutes and at time it can go on for days without doing it, I have seen it doing it and when it does happen the external bell will go off for 2-3 seconds and the panel will come up with default date/time, the only thing I can see in the log is watchdog reset. I am getting concerned now, not sure what could be wrong, if this was to do with any pir then it should have reported it but don't thing any pir could bring this down (or could it) I am after advice on how to troubleshoot this? but because this problem may go away for days I won't even know if whatever I have done would fix …

I'm looking to fit ADE Honeywell Accenta Gen 4 LCD compact kit shown on the website but want to confirm that all component's meet the minimum of Grade 2, should I chose a different spec PIR for the Kitchin concerned about it in long term. Fianlly can I get the system to trigger the exterior lighting. Richard

hi I have an accenta G4 which I purchased from you a while ago I never completed the installation due to illness, but now after a break in I decided to complete the installation. I have got to the point of setting up program but I get tamper fault lockout, I have checked all cabling and have even put link wires on all tamper circuits even the one on the lcd keypad. but I still get the same message. I have also made sure the panel spring is pressed, I have done a complete factory restore but still the same. do you have any ideas for me to try ? I am happy to replace the panel if it's faulty but I don't wish to waste money if it is something else. thanks in advance

I have programed all pir siren contacts and tcu remote but when trying to set full or part set the tcu displays operation cancelled instead of arming any ideas please

Hello, Some years ago I installed a couple of Tate alarm systems. These were fairly simplistic but allowed the external siren (and any internal sound bomb) to be disabled on night set. Since then I've moved over to the Pyronix Sterling 10 as I wanted a full text log. The Sterling is OK but had no means to disable the sirens on part set and the log has no date/time stamp. I'm moving house again and will be installing a new alarm. I want a system with a date and time log and the ability to turn off any internal siren and just have the normal speaker tone on activation. I have an A083-01 that was working fine in a Galaxy Flex 20 up until about a month ago when the panel started to report line failures. Despite several resets of both the Internet and the panel, the error would come back within an hour or so (line fail sensing). The diagnostics on the panel report that the comms are all good. The LEDs on the A083 also suggest everything is OK (Green on 0.1, off 0.9 sec) Orange intermittent = ethernet. If I disconnect the 435 cable I get an immediate error on the panel, so it is being detected OK.I’ve replaced the Ethernet cable, used a different IP address etc, all without change.However, I cannot communicate in or out via the unit. Hi, I hope that you can help. I currently have a Texecom Veritas R8 wired system that is misbehaving and I am looking to change to a wireless system. I have recently decorated so do not want to start routing new cables and lifting carpets/floorboards. The house is a 3 bed semi, so I don't need the highest spec system. After reading several reports, I'm considering the Scantronic Homelink 55, although I am open to suggestions. Hi, System ADE Poly Gen4 with LCD keypad Is there any way in which I can permanently enable the LCD and Keypad backlight on the Accenta Gen4 LCD Keypad. The current default state is that they illuminate for about 30 secs following a keypress. My previous ADE system (LED Keypad) had backlit buttons on all the time which I found quite helpful. Bob

Hi, I sent the below to Honeywell UK but haven't heard from them. As it stands I am unable to set the alarm so this is pretty urgent. Can you assist me in understanding why all of a sudden a Le Sucre system is no longer working with your TC2.0e web service? It was working fine until a few days ago when the alarm would no longer set from the main panel using proximity fobs. Hi there, i bought one of these pirs in my last order. I fit it and was sure it was working but i tested it the other day and it doesnt seem to be working correctly. It does not trigger the alarm, seems that it is permanently closed. Is there something i need to do, ie change the factory settings on the sensor or does it need returning? Regards

Hello, I have just finished some work to tidy up the wiring on the Accenta Gen4 system fitted in my flat. Basically what I did was re-route a lot of the surface cabling under the floor, and also change a couple of the sensors. Now the system is up and running again it all seems to work fine, apart from the door contact. The door used to have a surface mounted Honeywell contact, and one of the changes I made was to swap that for a flush contact hidden in the doorframe (part is CQR FC508/WH). When I test the output from contact back at the panel with a multimeter is it fine; reads 2 Ohms with the door closed and then open circuit with the door opened. However…

Hi, I have a Honeywell Galaxy 3 48 panel running V5.50 firmware. I've seen firmware for the Dimension 48 @ V6.79. Are these 2 panels the same and can I upgrade my panel to V6.79 firmware or are there hardware difference that cap my firmware @ V5.55? I always thought they were the same panel just with different firmware but after looking though info I'm no longer sure as to the compatibility. If I can upgrade, I'll purhcase the SPI key from security warehouse but will need some instructions on ow to perform the update. Thanks

Hi All, I have a Pyronix V2 GSM dialler. Previously I could dial into the V2, enter the User Code, then enter the remote control menu. I have not changed any settings, but the User Code is now not being accepted when dialing in (the system voice just requests multiple times for a User Code to be entered, then it times out). I have checked: - The User Code still works when entered directly into the V2 using the keypad. - Status SMS messages are still responded to in the normal manner. Hi! I purchased an alarm system, a Viasonic Powermax+, from you in september 2009. Since we have 3 cats (weight 4,2 4,2 and 3,5 kg) I got the pet tolerant PIR:s. Tha alarm has been working perfectly until last night when we all woke up from the sounding alarm. When you wake up at 4 AM from a deep sleep and realize that the alarm you have come to rely on not giving false alarms, is sounding, you get up really quick, I promise. Armed with a knife and a steel pipe I searched the house but found nothing. Since we have a lot of snow I could also check for tracks outside the windows and back door, but nothing. Hi, I have received an old firmware version of the PowerMaster-10 panel, so currently I'm not able to install a working intruder alarm due to failed enrollment of MC-302E PG2 (magnetic contant) and KP-160 (Keyprox panel). "Unknown dev. type" is shown in the Powermaster-10 display. Thank you for the supply of the new remote keypad for my Visonic PowerMaster 10 I have registered the keypad without any problem. I started to register the prox tags but made a mistake, so deleted them. When I check the system, it clearly states 'none registered' When I try to re-add a tag, I now get the message "no free location". I removed the batteries from the keypad then I 'disconnected' the keypad from the main unit then re-registered the keypad with the main unit, hoping this would 'clear' any issues, but I still get the same message when trying to register a prox tag: "no free location" If I can't register any tags, the remote pad isn't a lot of use to me. Hi, we bought a menvier SD1+ speech dialler from your website last week. Upon testing it, our engineer found problems dialling out. Upon talking to menvier tech support he was told that it was from a batch that had been recalled and that we should send it back via our supplier. Our secretary e-mailed tecnical@securitywarehouse.co.uk this a.m., but no reply as yet. Pleae treat this as urgent as our client(unhappy!) has to have a member of staff on the premises until this is installed.
