Hello can anyone help,on entering the building after the alarm has been set there is no exit entry timers sounding ,and the externel bell box triggers,zone 2 which is in the path to the rkp is set as access.

I would suggest you default this back to factory settings which can be found on page 17 of Engineering manual. These are quite straight forward. Then make sure you have a link between PA and Tamper. Then arm according to the user manual, and if this works satisfactory try the other zones one at a time.

I am installing the Optima Compact. Nothing I do works as in the manual. The wiring is very clear but the setting up is not going well. I have not connected the external alarm, using the internal alarm to test the system. I have only used Zone 1 with the entry/exit door switch. I am using program 1. A) Power Up: Requires me to press "X" after entering user code to get the unset LED to come on. Not as manual. Walk Test: All of the zone LED's come on and the panel beeps.Pressing the tick does not switch the LED's off and the beeping continues. Therefore I cannot do a Walk Test. Not as manual. C) Setting the System: At first,when setting, all of the LED's came on with rapid beeping and stayed that way. I then decided to remove all but zone one, which has the door switch. This now appears to be going through the exit time twice. That is slow beeps changing to rapid beeps twice. At the end of the sequence the alarm is immediately activated. I hope I have made some simple basic mistake. What should I do next?

Cannot get the Panel to do what the manual says it should on Power Up and Walk Test. I only have the Entry/Exit door switch wired to the panel to ensure easy diagnosis.

According to installation instructions for AG6 sounder PCB should be marked as follows TR- V- ST- V+ S- The actual PCB is marked ST- R- SW- V+ V- Can you confirm R- is actually TR- and SW- is actually S-

It keeps sounding at random times, with no tamper fault and no error message on the control panel. The problem seems to lie with the sounder only.

My system requires at least 10 wired inputs and up to 8 wireless. What would you recommend in this case. I also want a system which can phone/message me if there is an alarm and can be remotely operated.

Hi, have wired up system as should be, have all cct returns, bell tamper, PA and global tamper returns as should be. But on powering up all the RKP is showing is software version 4.00. Have depowered and shorted out NVM & kick start pins and tried again but just stays the same.

We have a optima xL4 MICROPROCESSOR alarm system. This keeps going off at various times during the day. We enter the code and reset only for it to go off again. none of the sensors are lit up (they used to have a red light on them) Please can you help as we are been woken at ridculous times in the night and have 2 young children !

we are currently experiencing a fault with the outside video door entry system the buzzer work the picture is working too, however when it's activated we seemed to be getting a loud feedback noise outside only I have changed the outside video system but are still having the same problem.

Is it possible to disable or silence the external bells via the keyboard? If so could you please tell me how to reset the external bells again.

My external alarm bells (2 at high level)are not sounding when the system is activated/tripped.The internal bell on the panel are activated. Could the bells have been deactivated via the keyboard? If so could you please tell me how can they be reactivated. I had understood that if wires to alarm bell were cut the internal alarm would be activated.

I'm looking for a wired alarm. I was interested in Veritas R8, but seems this model do not offer a feature i need. I would like the remote keypad to continuously display the state of each zone, with no sound, even when the alarm is turned off (i would like the control panel to behave by default as a silent alarm, and activate sounders when i switch the alarm ON). Do you have any alarm control panel that propose such feature? thx

Hi There, I would like to use the Clip MCW PIR detector by Powermax with the Scantronic RFX08 radio receiver. The frequencies are compatible but will the two units communicate properly.

I have a security lighting system fitted with an 1803. The signal to turn on the lighting is taken from an infra red beam and sensor set up acrosss our drive so that when the beam is broken the light comes on. To prevent the light coming on in the daytime, there is a PIR wired up to only provide the 1803 with a photocell reading - i.e. it isn't used to detect motion. In additon there is a buzzer and control switch in the form of the 1809. The photocell element stopped working about a year ago, meaning the light would come on in the daytime. Now the 1803 has stopped working correctly as the light will not go out and the buzzer only works intermittantly. I am going to start replacing elements of the system to restore its functionality. The question is, what can I use to give a photocell reading to the 1803? There are many different PIR sensors, but only a few allow you to wire the movement sensor and photocell capability independantly. Would I be right in assuming that a dedicated photocell switch will not work with this system as it would not allow for Lux levels to be set on the 1803?
