Hi Ravis, I have not heard about Texecom cutting back on their quality control line or anything else for that matter apart from they have stopped putting their brackets in with the PIR's and DT's, so I hope this puts your mind easy as they are going nowhere. Regards Elaine

Hi Ravis, I will get James to look at this for you, has it is him that is doing all the reviews, at the moment he is going to do Honeywell products first, so hang on in there and he will get to the Scantronic. Keep up the good work with what you need to see to help you and thanks for your help with the Technical queries Cheers Elaine

Hi, I have checked this out for you, and as long as it runs on the same voltage, which the 9448 and the Accord do 12Volts, you should be ok, hope it works out ok for you Regards Elaine
-
Hi As Ravis has already said the Scantronic 9448 panel is still available with on board remote EUR90 or with seperate remote EUR95, so it would be easier for you to change like for like Regards Elaine
-
Hi, I have just re reread your question, and I have given you the measurements for the control panel and you was after the battery dimentions which are H 6cm W 17 1\2cm D 3 1/4cm, so sorry for the mix up, hope this helps you. Regards Elaine

Hi Here is a copy of the info you needed, hope this is of help While the SD2 is not tested or approved for use outside of Europe I believe the unit will operate satisfactorily in North America. The unit uses screw terminals for all external connections. The major differences between the networks would be: The ring voltage of 90V - this should be sufficient for detection. Also this is only an issue if you intend to use the remote access features. I suspect the majority of users only use the unit in dial out mode. Network impedance - 600 Ohm network may cause DTMF signalling to fall out of regulatory limits but the unit will still operate. Call progress tones - American ring tone cadence at 2 seconds on / 5 seconds off is longer than UK and much of Europe and may result in the unit replaying its message before the call is answered or to hang-up the call without replaying any message. SMS text messaging - this feature is unlikely to operate in North America due to limited message format / protocol options provided in the unit.
