A customer of ours has purchased a Videx 837-1 unit recently following the failure of the microphone in the Videx gate unit which turned out to be an 836-1. Is it possible to use this 837-1 unit as a replacement for the 836-1 or can you supply an 836-1, or compatible, unit.

I have a requirement to install an access control system on the door to a Gym. I need to be able to open the door from 10am to 4pm but at all other times the card would be required. I have looked at the ACT prox 5 and the paxton compact vandal resistant but cant see how i can open the door for the required times. I plan on using a yale lock and a release and wonder if i need to use an exit button when my members can just open the lock? Am i missing something here? I dont want to spend a fortune but i need something reliable and easy to manage Thanks Geoff

Hi I was advised that the old round type key fob was discontinued and that the new rectangular key fob (KF-235 pg2) was a replacement. I’ve tried to enroll the key fob but it doesn’t connect. The instructions say that I have to enter the code from the key fob but the old panels don’t have that option. Is there a way to enroll without or does this have to be a return?

Please could you advise if the targha BPT audio intercom with keypad system would work with any electromagnetic lock and exit button device? Also, I am rather ignorant on these systems, is the double electromagnetic systems shown on your website used for double doors? If so, we have a leading gate for pedestrians if the non leading gate is held by a ground bolt will this work? Thanks

We have been asked to fit a audio only door entry system to a school where the gate is at the other end of the building from reception where the handset will be, approximately 100m away (no line of sight). They have a network phone system which is being upgraded from analogue to digital shortly. Is there a system that could connect to their phone system? Or can you advise on the range of the wireless systems?

Good Morning, We are working on a clients property which has a Videx video phone entry system: Art: 901K Serial N.H244425 this was connected to a number pad / camera at the entry point and is used for a gate entry system - the wiring was removed by a previous contractor and our client wishes to have it all connected back up and working - we are after a set of electrical schematics and any tips or advice you can give me on connecting it (ususal wire types - operating distance etc) the previous connection did not include a gate open function even though the phone does have this button on it, the gates will require a single n/o volt free contact to operate them (or i…

Hi all, I have a Honeywell GD48 intruder panel and want to start using door control access. I think i need a Honeywell C080 DCM so that should be fine and so I am seeking recommendations on an electronic door lock as well as a good quality Wiegand 8bit keypad for external mounting. Background to request: I have a son who 'forgets' to lock the door manually when he goes out so i am wanting to replace the lock with an electronic one which is connected to my Honeywell Dimension GD48 and to force my son to either gain entry by the wiegand keypad or by using his lock key(is there a dual lock solution where either physical key or entry through keypad is possible?). …

Hi I bought the Prox10 kit from you, and was wondering what cable should run to the keypad/lock release. It's only 12v/1amp - does it just need something like speaker cable or .5mm T&E, or is there a "proper" spec that I should use Thanks Chris

I recently received and installed a new videx 3011 handset, which i had ordered from yourselves. Everything on the handset seems to be working fine apart from the buzzer. Whenever someone hits the buzzer button downstairs, my handset just seems to make a faint clicking noise instead of buzzing. Is this a fault with the handset or a fault with the way i've wired it up?

I have a btp device on my front gate which is designed to ring inside the house and then allow voice contact between any of three interior stations and the gate. There is then a system to open the gate and allow access to the person ringing the bell. Over time, ants, water and sun have damaged the external part and I would like to buy a replacement. there is a number on the back of the interior unit: 32009597 and then E/220. Is it possible to identify the device from these? If not where would I find the right nunber?

Hi there I am looking for a door access kit that has the capability to be PC based where users can be logged in and out when they enter or exit the building. Kind of like a clocking in and out. Where the problem of people holding the door open and people not swiping the card to register their clock in out. It needs to be capable of handling 200 people or more and control multiple doors, possibly a maximum of 20. I have taken a look at the paxton net2, but need more assurance as all we need for now is to control one door with 1 reader, em exit glass, and exit push with the capability to do the above. Without PC control. We have quite a lot of access works in th…
