[Ticket Question] what cable for low voltage Access Control

Featured Replies

Hi

I bought the Prox10 kit from you, and was wondering what cable should run to the keypad/lock release. It's only 12v/1amp - does it just need something like speaker cable or .5mm T&E, or is there a "proper" spec that I should use

Thanks

Chris

The power requirments of the keypad itself are very low. The main value to consider is the current required by the lock.

0.5mm flex would be fine for this purpose, however is the run is short then std alarm cable is normally used. YOu may need to parralel up cores if the volt drop is too large.
