Hi, Will a Robot vacuum cleaner trigger the alarm? I'm thinking about buying a robot vacuum cleaner but I'm worried that the vacuum cleaner will set off the alarm system. What can I do to avoid false alarms. Is it best to buy pet tolerant movement detectors with dual technology or is it enough with PIR? Or will the alarm go off no matter what kind of movement detectors I use? Best regards Tomas

Hi, System ADE Poly Gen4 with LCD keypad Is there any way in which I can permanently enable the LCD and Keypad backlight on the Accenta Gen4 LCD Keypad. The current default state is that they illuminate for about 30 secs following a keypress. My previous ADE system (LED Keypad) had backlit buttons on all the time which I found quite helpful. Bob

I currently have a visonic powermaster 33 installed and working nicely. I have the gsm module, which is connected to a central monitoring server thing run by a third party. I'm looking at buying the powerlink 3, will this enable me to connect into the alarm myself so that I don't need to use a central monitoring station? I know that the powerlink 2 allowed you to do this, but not sure about the powerlink3. I have the Powermaster 33 PG2, and I've confirmed that it's got firmware 18. So, before I buy it please can you 100% confirm that if I buy the Powerlink3, I'll be able to connect into it WITHOUT needing to pay for a powermanage server? Ie I'd connect directly t…

Purchased Accenta Mini G4 from you and have only just got round to installing it. On first power-up, I noticed that the walk test had a 1 under the P indicating a problem in the PA circuit. When I logged out of Engineer Mode I am also receiving a "PA Fault Lockout". I removed the PA button I had fitted suspecting a wiring problem and returned the factory fitted link on the PA terminals. I am still seeing the above fault and am left with an alarm in an unusable state. Any ideas of what might be causing the problem?

Is it possible for the main board to become wiped?? The alarm has been installed and was working fine for 2 years until a kitchen refit company decided to cut through three of the cables. (the cable between the control unit and the key pad was NOT cut) I've reconnected the cut cables, and initially the display read "Fuse/Bat Fault" - sure enough the Aux1 fuse had blown so I've replaced this. Now the remote keypad will light up when you power on, but there is no text on the display. I've checked the 3 fuses again, and that there is power to the PCB (17v) and that the power is reaching the keypad (12v) Any ideas on what else to try?? Could a wiring …

Hi, I have a problem with a missing cable. It is the cable between the panel and the GPS/GPRS module. It seems impossible to buy the cable in Sweden. So I have purchased components to make my own cable. But when I looked in the (Swedish) instruction manual it looks like the wires are connected cross-over. (see attached files) Can someone please confirm how the wires should be connected? straight (Example 1 in the attached file) or crossed (Example 2 in the attached file)??

Hi I have a powermax 10 with a GSM link we bought right before Christmas. Up until a couple of months ago, it cannot receive SMS commands any more. At first I thought it was something with teh phone operator, and I have been in contact with them. But now I think it might have to do with the GSM module. I'm not sure. The strange thing is that it will send SMS messages, because I receive status reports and auto test messages and such. And if I arm it manually on the display, I will get an SMS. However if I reply to it and say STATUS and my code, I never get any replies and nothing happens. Please advise. What can I do to trouble shoot it?

Hi, I self-installed a Euro Mini about a year ago. I have two keypads installed, one upstairs and one downstairs. It's been working fine since I installed it but now its giving me error 485 COMMNS LOST. Neither of the keypads respond. If I open the panel box or the keypad to fault find, the tamper alarm will sound and I have now way of overriding it! 1. Any ideas what would cause this problem (error 485)? Does the keypad or panel have a keypad fuse? If so would a blown fuse cause this error? 2. Without a working keypad, how do I override the tamper alarm? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, Following a burglary at a neighbours house, I'm looking at "self-install" burglar alarms; I've had a couple of quotes from professional installers, and I just can't justify spending the amount they are asking for - especially when prices on here seem so reasonable. Basically, I want a fairly simple wireless system: * main box on the wall under the stairs (where there is power), * 4 wireless door sensors around the house (one on the front door to be entry/exit, and one on the sliding back door to be omitted on a part-set), * one wireless PIR for the lounge (where the dogs never go), * a keypad to arm/disarm by the front door (hardwired to the ma…

Hi. I had Scantronic 9800 system installed 20 years ago. It has given good service but the push buttons have become faulty over the years and we are now on the last four buttons that work reliably. Is there a compatible replacement available for the original 9825 remote keypad? If yes is it simply a case of switching off power, disconnect battery and swop over wires on keypad or does it need an 'expert'?

Hi, I'm looking to install an alarm system on a static caravan in an owners only holiday park. I only plan to use internal sounders (quite possibly just concealed speakers in the roof space connected to the panel) as I don't plan on disturbing neighbours in the event of a *prolonged* power outage. These would be close enough to the external vent to be easily heard outside - but also uncomfortable internally and very difficult to access. I'm after advice with regards to the most suitable PIR sensor to use. I'm planning on using a dual tech variant, but need one with a decently adjustable microwave range. Could you recommend one? I'm currently swaying tow…

Well, the Honeywell ADE Informa speech dialler I bought is to replace the current AD2000 speech dialler that is not working any longer. The speech dialler is to be connected to an Ademco 4204 relais module (with 4 relais) which in turn is getting its pulses from a Honeywell Vista 50P alarm system. So, basically, when there is an alarm in one of the 3 partitions I have in the alarm system (the Vista 50P), this triggers one of the relais in the Ademco 4204 which in turn triggers the speech dialler which then calls the phone of the home owner. The problem is that the current AD2000 speech dialler is connected to the Ademco 4204 relais with two wires each while the Hone…

Hi all I received my exchange from yourselves and today installed the new unit. The keypads now turns on unlike before. Just to recap i have connected to the system 3 x Pir`s and 1 door contact. 1 x 16ohm external speaker connected to the system 1 x Keypad connected to the system. 1 x Lan card connected. I turned the system on for the first time there were no sounds and the keypad behaved as expected. The Keypad states Euro 46 but not Euro 46 V10 like in the manual also the time and date adjusted itself, i assume this is because the Lan card is installed and had connection to the internet? More importantly i started to go through …

I saw a website similar to ebay recently. One local guy is selling GSM jammers for a tenner or so. He had 10K feedbacks by the time I found it. I guess 9999 of them was bought by thieves. Hence I understand GSM alarms are placebo for the owners... My question however - the wireless alarm sensors work on frequencies close to GSM 300-900MHz right? So it should be fairly simple to mask sensors with a jammer. As long as the jammed sensors cannot send alarm signal to the control panel - the whole system is pecked... is this the right picture? (I mean the more expensive alarms must have somewhat a poll interval alarm but I guess that should be around 2+ minutes - in…
