I bought the visonic kp-160 from securitywarehouse along time ago. (Over 1 ago) I been waiting for a new firmware update since then for the kp-160. In sweden the kp-160 can handle both manuel type code and tags for over 1 year with a new firmware. When will this firmware be avalible on the uk versions of kp-160. Kp-160 is pretty useless when i cannot type code on it, i thought that could be done when i order it.

I recently purchased from you a Siemens SPC530.320 alarm panel and Invincibell Plus amongst other compnents My question relates to connecting wiring the Invincibell to the SPC530 panel. In the Invincibell wiring diagram it shows the Bell terminal of the alarm box connected to the bell terminal of teh alarm panel. However on a Siemens SPC530 there is no terminal marked bell so I would like to confirm where the bell terminal of the invincibell should connect to on the Siemens SPC530 SPC ---------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- Com------- NO--------- BHO------ TR------ EX------ EX+------ I also plan…

Ticket Question Hi, I have an old pyronix panel and paragon keypad on a wired system, I would like to replace it with a wired telecom panel and a nice looking keypad, would the bell box and PIRs and door/window contacts need changing? Or could you advise what panel and keypad would be suitable to change without changing all PIRs bell box and contacts? Or do you have a nice looking keypad that is comparable with the pyronix panel Many thanks Danny

I need one keypad, a fob, door magnet, and 3 PIR's plus external sounder. Is it practical to build the kit up from bits or do you suggest something else?? Budget not much more than £220. Hello I'm rewiring my house and as my floorboards are up and walls chased I have decided to install a burglar alarm. I'm going to go with the Castle Care Tech Euro 46. I have a few questions, should I use 6 or 8 core wire? I'm pretty sure everything wires back to the Control Panel. Finally does the control panel come with a keypad because I would like the flush satin chrome one. Or does it come as a second input device therefore I will have 2 keypads on the system I hope you are able to help with my questions Regards Jasdeep

I recently purchased a galaxy flex 20 and 4 DT7450-EOL motion sensors. I wired the sensor according to the instruction manual of the motion sensor. the fault loop to zone 1, Alarm test and tamper to zone 2. The "test" to the +12V since the flex control panel doesn't have a "remote led control". see galaxt installation manual page 17 for the wiring schem in the flex manual. see page 3 for the wiring of the sensor This doesn't seem to work. Can anybody tell if the wiring is correct? I find it odd that no connection is made on the V+ and V- of the sensor.

Hi, I'm looking to install an alarm system on a static caravan in an owners only holiday park. I only plan to use internal sounders (quite possibly just concealed speakers in the roof space connected to the panel) as I don't plan on disturbing neighbours in the event of a *prolonged* power outage. These would be close enough to the external vent to be easily heard outside - but also uncomfortable internally and very difficult to access. I'm after advice with regards to the most suitable PIR sensor to use. I'm planning on using a dual tech variant, but need one with a decently adjustable microwave range. Could you recommend one? I'm currently swaying tow…

I have a couple of questions if anyone can assist please before I order. I am using 3 x tritechs in house (a little ott but for pet tolerance) - I also have a conservatory that gets very hot but will not have pets. Should I just use another tritech or would a DT7450 be better? Has anyone used the Texecom Odyssey 5 compact or is it best to stick with full size? I have 3 x M12 smoke alarms on 1 zone and my installer doesnt have much experience of fitting these when using resistors. He was going to check but can anyone advise what may be required else we will just wire the whole system with seperate tamper circuit. thanks

I successfully installed my SPC4320 with IR sensor and Elmdene ELM300 internal sounder. This configuration works properly today. I wanted to connect the external Rapier sounder but I have two issues: - Tamper detection: I wired the tamper on sounder as explained in the Rapier manual by choosing the 2.2K resistor on the board and connected it directly to the TR pin on the SPC4320 but the tamper remains faulty even if the sounder is closed and fixed (sensors on the Rapier work well as confirmed by beep from the sounder). - EX+ and EX- signals: In SPC Pro->Panel setting->Controller input and output->Output (please see attached screenshot), I try to commute the ext.…

I ordered a Scantronic I-ON 40 from yourselves and I would like to protect my integral garage. Can you let me know whether an additional Scantronic EXCELR 12m Wireless PIR (XCELR) would suffice? Or should I consider an alternative trigger for the garage? Also, can you let me know which remote keyfobs work with the I-ON 40? I ordered a Scantronic I-FB01 Remote set/unset Keyring Fob (I-FB01) as part of my original order which does not appear to be compatible

Hi, I'm fitting a Honeywell Galaxy G2-20 at the moment (4th installation of the galaxy range) and usually would just fit a dialler however i saw the CSL Dualcom for sale on SW:- http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2438 It says that the first years monitoring is included, i'm just wondering who the ARC is, how the registration is completed and the ongoing yearly costs. Thanks Peter

Hello, I wonder if you may be able to help. We decided upon the security firm to upgrade our existing alarm as they offered what we thought suited us better than the other three firms wanted to install. However, three weeks later we are thinking maybe we should have used someone else. Just one of the queeries I had, and asked about was the actual calibration of the shock sensors, I was told thay are fine, they work as they are, they don't need any adjustment. I seem to recall many many many years ago seeing an installer spending a good while going through each room calibrating each and every shock sensor, maybe this is not required and technology has moved on…

We recently purchased a system which includes 2 x Pyronix Deltabell and a honeywell ADE GEN4 metal system. When reading the Pyronix data sheet it states that the bell trigger to the Deltabell must not be in paralled ( ie from one output ) two outputs must be used. The problem is I dont think the GEN 4 panel has a second bell output terminal, or have i missed it? As the deltabell is class 3 we have to install a resistor (4k7) from the +ve to the bell trigger ( to give it aprox 2v or above during normal mode ). With one deltabell this works fine. How should I connect the other deltabell? would a solution be to install a 2K resistor in place of the 4K7 and set both bells t…

Hi, I am about to move into a 200m² 4 bedroom detached house in the countryside, I've never had an alarm at a house before, but my wife is worried that as this is more isolated than previous houses (nearest house is ~100m away), that we are at a higher risk than our previous central village location. I am intending on a DIY install, I'm reasonably confident at my capabilities in laying & connecting wiring and drilling holes and am a computer programmer by trade, so would hope the programming side wouldn't beat me! After quite a lot of research I think I've settled on the Honeywell Flex 20. As the whole house needs decorating, I'm not really looking for a pri…
