Hi, I've never actually used one of these systems before but I've got a work colleague that's recently purchased one from yourself s. three quick questions 1. Is there a cheaper alternative third party keyfob that is compatible with this system that will talk with it, I'm guessing it's probably the same as a Honeywell galaxy g2-20, or visonic powermax where you have to use the manufacture branded keyfobs? 2. If they purchased the WIFI module I understand there's apps available to monitor and control the system remotely but could they also use the apps available for there phone so it works in the same way the keyfobs do?, would this include a simple set/unset …

  3. Can you advise which security panel would be suitable to replace one which has failed? (only lasted 15 years, but sadly now defunct!) This unit has 6 zones (hard-wired) of which I use 4. Anything that offers similar, at least 4 hard-wired + radio to cover areas not currently covered would do. Can you suggest something? I can install it.

hi, I am looking at the "Takex 20m Ext/40m Int 4 Channel Twin beams inc Pole Clamps" for use on scaffolding and was looking for some advice on suitable keypads and sounders to go along with it looking to buy a whole alarm set pretty ASAP to try with the intention of buying more and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  5. The Honeywell Galaxy alarm panel has a facility to send text message when alarm is triggered showing which sensors have been activated. If we connect a speech dialer will it disable this text service - To a private number.

  6. Hi, I have a problem with a missing cable. It is the cable between the panel and the GPS/GPRS module. It seems impossible to buy the cable in Sweden. So I have purchased components to make my own cable. But when I looked in the (Swedish) instruction manual it looks like the wires are connected cross-over. (see attached files) Can someone please confirm how the wires should be connected? straight (Example 1 in the attached file) or crossed (Example 2 in the attached file)??

  7. Hi Does anybody know if the external sounder in the Pyronix Enforcer Kit3, ENF/KIT3-UK, needs a power supply? It looks as though it is just battery powered from the description. I know some of the other Pyronix sounders require power when they are lit after dark. Can anyone confirm please? Thanks

I have a 15 year old Eurosec system that I whish to refurbish/upgrade. A few questions: I have what looks like the CP8L remote pad - is there an better option to replace? Tag compatible? Would you advise replacing the main panel at 15yrs old? I wish to add another remote keypad (garage entrance) and a contact/PIR - best option (remote tag?) Can you recommend replacement PIRs? Is there such a thing as wireless door contact?

  10. Hi there, If I use the Texecom Premier Impaq Plus With Built in Contact, with a Honeywell G4 alarm panel, can I use 6 core cable, or do I need to use an 8 cables to set the contacts up on zone 1, and the shock sensor up on another zone.

  11. I am torn between the Pyronix 46 App, the HKC 1070 and the Texecom Premier systems. I want a hybrid system where I can have mostly wired sensors and outputs but with the potential for a bit of wireless. I'm comfortable with programming reasonably complex panels having done Texecom and Honeywell systems for my families houses. I've read a lot of great things about HKC on a Internet forum but I see you cannot connect the app to the panel without authorisation. Is this true? Can you provide this service?

  12. Hi all, I'm new to the forum, it was recommended by a member on another forum. I was wondering if anyone has a .pdf copy of a veritas r8 installation manual for the pre-1999 models please? We have 2 veritas alarm systems on our house, one was installed in 1995 when the house was built, the 2nd was installed in 2007. I have a manual for the newer system but the older system I believe has different programming codes etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Andy

Having a bit of a nightmare here trying to default the user codes on the Galaxy g2-20 panel, can log in with the engineers code but when I go into the users menu the only code I can change is the engineers code itself. Also been through the engineers manual in detail and theres nothing there. Ive tried a power down and power up method that worked for me before but that doesn't seem to work either. If any1s got any ideas would be a great help cheers

  15. Hi, Will a Robot vacuum cleaner trigger the alarm? I'm thinking about buying a robot vacuum cleaner but I'm worried that the vacuum cleaner will set off the alarm system. What can I do to avoid false alarms. Is it best to buy pet tolerant movement detectors with dual technology or is it enough with PIR? Or will the alarm go off no matter what kind of movement detectors I use? Best regards Tomas

  16. Started by Secware,

I have an 11 year old scantronic 9930 fitted professionally and serviced. I am about to purchase a replacement keypad. However with regular power cuts here my alarm now triggers outside bell very quickly and will not go off for 15 minutes, i cannot reset. Also the display shows better missing even though it's not and i have checked all connections which are fine, also the battery is reading 12volts on tester. The only thing i noticed was split at bottom but, NO leaks ?? so why is it showing message and a 12volt reading on tester. Can you advice please as i don't want to waste money on keypad and battery if it is something else.

  17. Trying to find a good quality PIR sensor for lighting control. Just to turn on about 200W of lighting for, say, 15 minutes when persons detected during darkness. One sensor, one output. Min range 30m. (It's for use in a churchyard.) Ideally a stand-alone unit, but could be a PIR head plus power supply / relay unit. I don't need manual overrride, timers, etc. If I used one of these, what additional kit would be needed? https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/opal-xl-12v-pir-35m-p-642.html Similarly, for this one: https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/voltek-single-head-external-sensor-long-range-black-1804lrb-p-1532.html Thanks.

Can you please help an come up with a suggestion of which would be the right choice for me, with the above mentioned spec. 2. If I would like to add the possibility to also add wireless door sensors, what would I need to choose? 3. If I would like to add the possibility to access the alarm system with an app. What would I need to choose?

  19. Hi, Im looking for a long range (reliable over 30m) outdoor motion detector to control outdoor lighting. It needs to be able to be triggered by a person or car but not trees and shrubs. I got a cheap one which picks up shrubs so my outdoor lights are constantly on and off! Thanks

  20. Hi, Please can you recommend a smoke alarm suitable for connection to a texecom premier elite that is good for a garage/workshop area? I'm guessing (given use of angle grinders, woodworking equipment, etc) an optical alarm is not a good idea. The garage is also poorly sealed (large gaps around the door) so does get very cold in the winter. I was wondering about the Texecom Exodus RR/4W. It seems to be recommended for places where temperature won't exceed 38C, which sounds likely for my garage. Would it be a good choice? Thanks Joseph

I have a 20+ year old burglar system. I plan to get Texecom Veritas R8 panel. 1. Are there likely to be problems connecting to existing bell and PIRs? 2. Do I need Veritas R8, rather than Veritas, if I want to connect Speech unit at a later stage? Thank you.

  25. Started by Secware,

Hi there I have an MCR-304 + 3 x MCT-303's in my basket. 2/. From your experience in the field what is the effective range. In my application I have a fair amount of brickwork through which the RF must travel - probably about 15M to the furthest 303 and about 3 x 9" conventional brick walls. 3/. Are the 303's 'supervised transmitters'. Thanks.
