Hi, Will a Robot vacuum cleaner trigger the alarm? I'm thinking about buying a robot vacuum cleaner but I'm worried that the vacuum cleaner will set off the alarm system. What can I do to avoid false alarms. Is it best to buy pet tolerant movement detectors with dual technology or is it enough with PIR? Or will the alarm go off no matter what kind of movement detectors I use? Best regards Tomas

I have an 11 year old scantronic 9930 fitted professionally and serviced. I am about to purchase a replacement keypad. However with regular power cuts here my alarm now triggers outside bell very quickly and will not go off for 15 minutes, i cannot reset. Also the display shows better missing even though it's not and i have checked all connections which are fine, also the battery is reading 12volts on tester. The only thing i noticed was split at bottom but, NO leaks ?? so why is it showing message and a 12volt reading on tester. Can you advice please as i don't want to waste money on keypad and battery if it is something else.

Trying to find a good quality PIR sensor for lighting control. Just to turn on about 200W of lighting for, say, 15 minutes when persons detected during darkness. One sensor, one output. Min range 30m. (It's for use in a churchyard.) Ideally a stand-alone unit, but could be a PIR head plus power supply / relay unit. I don't need manual overrride, timers, etc. If I used one of these, what additional kit would be needed? https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/opal-xl-12v-pir-35m-p-642.html Similarly, for this one: https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/voltek-single-head-external-sensor-long-range-black-1804lrb-p-1532.html Thanks.

Hi, Im looking for a long range (reliable over 30m) outdoor motion detector to control outdoor lighting. It needs to be able to be triggered by a person or car but not trees and shrubs. I got a cheap one which picks up shrubs so my outdoor lights are constantly on and off! Thanks

Hi, Please can you recommend a smoke alarm suitable for connection to a texecom premier elite that is good for a garage/workshop area? I'm guessing (given use of angle grinders, woodworking equipment, etc) an optical alarm is not a good idea. The garage is also poorly sealed (large gaps around the door) so does get very cold in the winter. I was wondering about the Texecom Exodus RR/4W. It seems to be recommended for places where temperature won't exceed 38C, which sounds likely for my garage. Would it be a good choice? Thanks Joseph

Can not connect to SPC connect with SPC 4320, ethernet works I've SPC 4320 with latest firmware 3.6.6. It is a completely new central and has never been connected SPC connect. From error messages it seems that spcconnect.com have problems, but Im not sure. Nice if someone can see if you enter the SPC connect today. If so, then the problem must be on My side. fine if you someone can look at the small details of the config and help with finding what I've done wrong. I have used the video below to double check my setup to connect SPC I can not run the registration of panel spcconnect, after I enter registeration ID and username password I get the message that "Can…

I have a 20+ year old burglar system. I plan to get Texecom Veritas R8 panel. 1. Are there likely to be problems connecting to existing bell and PIRs? 2. Do I need Veritas R8, rather than Veritas, if I want to connect Speech unit at a later stage? Thank you.

Hi there I have an MCR-304 + 3 x MCT-303's in my basket. 2/. From your experience in the field what is the effective range. In my application I have a fair amount of brickwork through which the RF must travel - probably about 15M to the furthest 303 and about 3 x 9" conventional brick walls. 3/. Are the 303's 'supervised transmitters'. Thanks.

I ordered the above Visonic MCR-304 Receiver from you and it was quickly delivered without any sign of transit damage. Firstly my thanks for your prompt service. I installed the item in the prescribed way and powered it up. I then set the Learn jumper into the Learn mode and the yellow LED flashed as expected. I then pressed the Tamper spring and the yellow LED and the red LED both flashed OK and using the tamper key I was able to cycle through the various channels. I then tried to associate/enroll a known good transmitter and in this respect I used a MCT-100. This transmitter was free standing and located close to the MCR-304 so range was not an issue. I tried to force …

Hello. Do you have an Intellisense IQ260 replacement/equivalent please. I have one in my garage, after doing some refurbishment to the building I was thinking of installing an additional sensor as a single one can no longer cover the area. That is if 2 pir's be installed in the same zone/room? an 8 core cable is installed however only 1 core remains unused. If 2 can be used on same cable maybe better to buy two identical detectors and do away with the IQ260? Thank you.

We're looking at a comms installation at an isolated site, which will also require an intruder alarm. There will be no landline phone but we anticipate installaing a 4G router which will provide both an Internet connection (WiFi and hardwired) and a phone line. The phone line will be derived from the cellular connection and we envisage using a UPS to keep the equipment going in the event of a power outage. The preference is for something that can alert the owner to an intrusion by dialling a series of phone numbers or by using SMS rather than by using a conventional. communcator and monitoring service. Remote Web maintenance is a requirement. Preference is for a system th…

Hi, I purchased a Scantronic 9651 from you in July. I have now noticed that in Eng Mode all IR and Panel tampers are taken out (as expected) allowing me to access the components, but having just taken the external siren cover off the bell rang immediately. It may be that this is correct but I was not expecting this (other panels I have installed eliminate all tampers in Eng Mode, inc the Bell). I would appreciate it if you could advice me if this is correct. Also, if it is correct is there a way to avoid the bell going off during maintenance of the system. For your info I have fitted a Pyronix Belle to the 9651 panel as below. Belle 9651 B- 0v B+ 12v BA OP1 (Bell) STB O…

I currently have a visonic powermaster 33 installed and working nicely. I have the gsm module, which is connected to a central monitoring server thing run by a third party. I'm looking at buying the powerlink 3, will this enable me to connect into the alarm myself so that I don't need to use a central monitoring station? I know that the powerlink 2 allowed you to do this, but not sure about the powerlink3. I have the Powermaster 33 PG2, and I've confirmed that it's got firmware 18. So, before I buy it please can you 100% confirm that if I buy the Powerlink3, I'll be able to connect into it WITHOUT needing to pay for a powermanage server? Ie I'd connect directly t…

Hi, I am interested in the Visonic Power master alarm to install in a carehome I look after. I have seen one of these systems before and it seems to work well. I need the system to have two door contacts, the most important feature the home is looking for is the door chime feature so I need this to be quite loud, is it? The alarm feature will be loud enough, they always are, this will only be set at night with no PIR required as there will be movement in the house, so still just the door sensors. I have fitted a challenger model before and the chime function was nowhere near loud enough so I am hoping this is better, it did seem to be on the one I seen. If not, is there a…
