Intruder Alarms

I just bought an AMDT and I'd like to understand the purpose of the SET wire. What is the Alert/Set mode ? Should it be left unconnected (and be in the standby mode) ? BTW, what is its current drain ? Thanks.

Hi - just wondering if the G4 LED keypads for the Accenta are compatible with the G3 RKPs/systems? Also, do you sell these G4 RKPs seperately?

I have a system in a gun club that uses the scantronic 9800 which is now becoming unreliable due to its age. It is also in a humid environment which does not help! I would like to replace the unit with a new one so am interested in the 9752. Could you tell me if this is a good choice and if it is then can I (not an alarm engineer but good with electronics) swop the unit over easily. Thank you for your advice. S. Cooke

i need to replace 3 fire sensors at home that are compatible to my house alarm system. it is a sterling 10 by pyronix. i am told they have to be normally closed. can you recommend a sensor

I had scantronic 9800 alarm system installed 20 years ago, working fine, my key pad box cover is broken which covers all the key pad, there is Scantronic 9827 key pad only which is on your website it says it is now obsolete, will this key pad is same as my 9800 key pad with the cover and work same as old key pad? If it is I would like to order ASAP.

I have an accenta 6 control unit. Do you sell a suitable telephone dialer other then the Scantronic Unit?

Hi i had a scantronic 550r wireless alarm system fitted 18 months ago,great but it has gone off 15 times since then and every time it flashs rf trouble ,today it has been flashing all day .i am now to frighted to set the system , please help

Hi my home has been fitted with a scantronic 9651 system, it has p.i.rs in all down stairs rooms. The front and rear doors have surface mounted contacts. When I set the system and leave via my front door the alarm continues to beep and will not arm once I close the door. This has happened before and I was advised to replace the door contact which i did, this solved the problem until now! The same thing has happened again I have checked the contact and everything seems to be OK with no loose wires. The contact is grade 2 with a small circuit board inside, it also has a small spring tamper mechanism. Can anyone help? regards Steve

Just installed my 1st panel (in my own place)!! All seems to have gone ok but I'm wondering what to use for the "loop" connections between tamper wires. I've got 8 zones to link and "choc block" (aka terminal strip) seems a bit excessive. What have you used?

Hi, i bought a powermax plus alarm, and have just attached the external sounder to complete the system (risco novagard6), however, upon arming and disarming using the keyfob, the external sounder sounds for 1 second. this doesnt happen if i use the keypad on the pm+ though. Please could you point me in the right direction.

re: Honeywell Intellisense IS215T. We would like to replace all motion sensors in our house with the IS215T. There are approximately 20no. Can we simply buy these and connect up to existing wiring? Do we need a new control box?

I have fitted a wired intruder alarm system within my house and wonder if you could confirm I can install a wireless detector in an external building with a wireless receiver next to and connected to the wired system panel. If it is possible could you suggest the equipment I would need. There are spare zones on the wired panel and I would only need one zone on the wireless receiver.

I have an Accenta Mini 8 G3 alarm system. I need a new key pad. The original one 8EP219 I am told is out of date and been replaced with 8EP416. Can I change the keypad to the new one with no problems or is there likely to be compatability issues?

hi i have a job for an alarm system in a barn with no heating and damp/sub zero temps. the barn has two doors one sliding and one side entrance/fire ext. it has mains electric for power supply. also want a gsm dialer for the system. i cannot find a system that will be ok with the damp conditions. please advise, kind regards

Hi I purchased a security panel, Texecom Premier DC8 + a few years ago from yourselves and I am only just fitting it but have mislaid the remote key pad and installation instructions. Can you advise which remote keypads you sell that will fit this panel as I note it is not for sale any more. Also, do you have the installation instructions available? Thanks

hi i have just installed this panel to an exsisting system, it has 1 door entry contact and 2 pirs 1 on the route to the panel the other at the back of the house. i conected the door contact to zone 1 the pir on route to the panel on zone2 and the other to zone 3 i am using program 1 and set zone 2 as timed inhibit the problem im having is when i do a walk test zone 1 triggers zone 3 and visa versa zone 2 triggers on its own fine. so if i set the alarm as i trigger the door contact (zone 1)before i get to the panel the alarm activates so i enter the code to silence and zone 1 & 2 are solid and 3 is flashing the door contact is only 2 wir so i cant have wired it…

Hi, I had an alarm system and we started having problems with our bell box (kept going off because it was too close to the boiler flue). I decided to replace the bell box and bought a Texecom Odyssey 1E. We've fitted the bellbox but it won't seem to work with my existing system. I'm not sure but it may be that its not compatable with the panel/key pad. I could do with knowing what panel/keypad would work with this bell box, how much they cost and whether you stock such an item. Thanks

We moved into our house previously without pets but with one of the above alarm panels. I need to replace three PIR with pet friendly ones. You advertise the Scantronic 430, is this compatible with the 9450 panel. Also I wanted to install a dialler but it seems that you are out of stock of all diallers. If there is one that is compatible with my control panel could you please let me know. Also I would like a clue as to how to wire up the dialler to my panel. Please feel free to answer any one of the points. The main one being compatibility.
