Want a complete alarm (galaxy) has I selected the right stuff?
Secware_Tech6 replied to Bernt's topic in Intruder Alarms
std alarm cable will be fine. You can double or treble the power cores, but never double up data lines -

[Ticket Question] Trouble with an EX-35R
Secware_Tech6 replied to Secware's topic in Intruder Alarms
just to add for future reference not all rf devices are inter compatible. Some are but as a rule you need to sue the same brand throughout on the wireless side. -
[Ticket Question] Trouble with an EX-35R
Secware_Tech6 replied to Secware's topic in Intruder Alarms
Giorgio The ex35r is a low power pir designed for connection to a transmitter board. They do not include the transmitter board as you use the one compatible with your receiver. The model you quote is unknown to me so i cant help directly. But if you use a universal transmitter in the space behind the sensor it will work with your system -
Depending on your version of the domonial will depend on the method of adding rf fobs. Adding rf keypads is an engineering function.
-
you cant use normal intruder cable in an area that will be wet, over time pvc cables go pourus and you will have problems with any quality of cable. You need a direct burial or duct grade cable, unless its kept 100% dry. If its dry then id go with the better cable.
-
no the keyfobs wont come with that sort of instruction you will need to refer to your user manual.
-
The domonial is 'tricky' to program so unless you have had the training then i would suggest it wasnt for you. The domonial is a 'wireless only' produce so you can only use domonial equipment on it. It is an excellent product but unless you have the training id avoid.

I would say yes but it depends as a rule our own branded cable will be fine but if your approaching limits (ie 1km cable runs etc) then good branded cable has its advantages. A lot of people insist on high end branded equipment including cable. if your running 20m runs under floor boards then you wouldnt have an issue. However the finish of the branded cables is better and its wound less tight so when clipping direct its easier to achieve a nice finish. Hopefully that helps?

im in tech support. If it gets to me then i can. However id expect this one will go stright to returns for action. James

no it shouldnt do that. Id advise getting it swapped if your not happy with it.

Adam As we spoke on the phone ill add some additional info. If im right you want to protect the house and a garage which is approx 10m from the house. We discussed the galaxy unit and the visonic. If you go for the galaxy unit you will need a http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1632 for the garage you will need a wireless Dualtec http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2162 As far as i know honeywell are the only manufacturer offering a wireless dualtec
-
if you use a conventional video system then yes. All you need to do is feed the 2nd monitor from the first unit, ie cable it as below Outside Unit ------ HAndset 1------- Handset 2
-
1) Yes it has 8 zone inputs (which can be 'doubled' to 16) for conventional sensors 2) Most of the risco wireless devices ie http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_60&products_id=750 3) No they are manufacturer specific 4) ok 5) anytime ps the wireless reciever is http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_60&products_id=1149 Control panel is http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=579 you could also look at http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1632 thats a G2 wireless galaxy kit, but only has digital coms built in (ie not a speech dialler)
-
as ravi has suggested is say thats a data comms issue. Cables ok and or wired correctly? Also was the panel powered up with keypad connected?
-
the homelink wont do remote connections without an arc. so you would need to add a speech dialler to most panels. the risco / eurosec cpx has a wireless reciever option (making it hybrid) built in speech dialler etc so would probably be better suited to your application.

most vibration detectors are 12v devices as you note like pir's you can get 2 wire non powered vibration devices such as http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&manufacturers_id=59&products_id=737 but these require an analyser (some panels have built in analysed zone inputs) An analyser allows connection of these vibration units to a conventional alarm panel. http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&manufacturers_id=59&products_id=2125 You can also series connect addional vibration units on the same cable. One point to remeber is as tyhe intelligence is at the analyser all devices will be set to the same sensitivity on an input.
-
Sales will be able to update if this product is available in the UK. From a technical point of view the device you have highlighted wont work in your application as its a combined non analysed sensor. If this is cabled back to the panel on its own wire and enough cores are available then yes it would work.
-
Unfortunalty if you need a power supply, you need a power supply. Only way to be sure is to measure what your currently drawing in day mode and alarm. Then you can decide if you need on or not. re expander wise. Assuming your panel has the capacity you need one of these http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=366 this will give you 8 circuits and you can fit this in the loft and connect your smoke sensors to it. Texecom Odyssey 3E- Just ordered one, Any good?
Secware_Tech6 replied to ravis94's topic in Intruder Alarms
The 4 uses a back strobe, ie no lens but the whole of the backplate should flash. However units with strobe lens's are more visible in the daylight. The oddy series all use xenon tubes ie not LED. You can disconnect the internal battery but that will remove some protection for the bell, ie if the unit is removed from the wall it would use its internal battery to self actuate. If you remove this then it cant. Datasheet is at the bottom of the page for that product see http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=335 -
There is nothing wrong with scantronic sensors at all. I was just providing an example. with all pro panel you can use virtually any hardwired pro sensor. There is no requirement with hardwired to use all equipment from the same manufacturer. ie not all manufactures make panels and sensors, ie optex dont make a panel as far as i know. The air movement id expect from a fish tank would be minimal so i wouldnt worry. Unless its like a fan heater! There shouldnt be a need for pet tolerant sensors with a fish tank as they are behind glass. I am generalising as i havnt seen your application. James
