Bought myself a Jablotron JA-83 panel. The manual advises to connect only 1 wired keypad (JA-81E). Additinional keypads should be connected wireless. Does anyone have an idea why ? Is this panel not able to work with 2 keypads on the same keypad connectors? Does the panel delivers not enough power to feed more than 1 keypad? Or does Jablotron likes to sell wireless keypads above wired ? I really would like to know why...

I saw a website similar to ebay recently. One local guy is selling GSM jammers for a tenner or so. He had 10K feedbacks by the time I found it. I guess 9999 of them was bought by thieves. Hence I understand GSM alarms are placebo for the owners... My question however - the wireless alarm sensors work on frequencies close to GSM 300-900MHz right? So it should be fairly simple to mask sensors with a jammer. As long as the jammed sensors cannot send alarm signal to the control panel - the whole system is pecked... is this the right picture? (I mean the more expensive alarms must have somewhat a poll interval alarm but I guess that should be around 2+ minutes - in…

I require a wired alarm system supporting a minimum of 8 detectors with the following key characteristics: Ability to set/unset using the lock on the final exit door, eg using a Chubb 3G114 Single Pole Shunt Lock or similar If the alarm is activated the ability to disable the strobe (in addition to the sounder) after a predetermined period of time, so there is no external indication of the alarm having been triggered Can anyone please recommend the a control panel / sounder combination which is able to support this configuration Many Thanks KB

Hi Folks, Looking to replace a failing alarm system we currently have in place at a county scout hut. It consists of three PIR's, auto dialar and the central panel/main box. The alarm is activated by locking he door and de-activated my unlocking the door! (Clever stuff ) For ease of use we'd like to keep this system. For numerous reasons we wont be using a control panel to type in the code! Any suggestions? Just looking for a replacement system.. Something that we can use the existing lock with! (The door lock is simply wired straight to the alarm) Regards, Scott

So I am sorry in advance for the many questions, but I would rather ask that mess something up. I have decided to install my own wired alarm at home which is working out cheaper than the wireless options in the shops, I have opted for a Texecom Veritas Excel with LCD keypad, Texecom PIR's, Contacts, ext bell and also a Pyronix twin speaker/internal siren. First question - Should my brand new alarm panel smell (like electrical burny smell) ? Are they tested before being sent out. NO evidence of ever being fitted and no signs of board damage or heat exchange to components. It is brand new .... not refurbed or used. Secondly, I am putting the main control panel …

Looking to fit a low cost wire alarm into a small 2 bed house. Need 2x door contacts, 2 PIR and 1 sounder. Ideally I would prefer a seperate small keypad, as there is little room in the hall for the panel, and would like to add in 2 smoke detectors. Price is key, could anyone recommend a panel or kit.

I am having difficulty making the low temperature output on my SD3 dialler work correctly. I would like the dialler to send me a text message when temperature drops below the alarm threshold. However, despite the "test outputs" suggesting all is functioning OK the unit does not seem to be triggering the alarm properly. I have it configured as follows: Output 3 is set to Temperature Low/ Negative Polarity Output 3 has single wire to Trigger C Triggers are set to (default) negative polarity Trigger C Alarm is routed to Contact 1 In Test Options switching on Output 3 gives correct "Trig C Alarm" in System Log In Test Options testing Trigger C correctly sends m…

I have a few questions about this product that I am hoping someone can answer. 1. The product has an in-built microphone. Is it also possible to attach an external microphone (like Texecom's voice dialler)? 2. Are the remote functions (e.g. memo playback, listen in etc) accessible through both the GSM route and the normal telephone line. 3. What's the best method for provide back-up power? Thanks.

Hi, we bought a menvier SD1+ speech dialler from your website last week. Upon testing it, our engineer found problems dialling out. Upon talking to menvier tech support he was told that it was from a batch that had been recalled and that we should send it back via our supplier. Our secretary e-mailed tecnical@securitywarehouse.co.uk this a.m., but no reply as yet. Pleae treat this as urgent as our client(unhappy!) has to have a member of staff on the premises until this is installed.

I need help please. Bought a A083-00-01 Ethernet module off ebay (yes silly idea) to install into a FX020 install I've just completed. Module has no status LEDs and the system does not see it. Before I order a new one from SW, can anyone tell me if I'm missing something? I would have thought the module would flash an LED even with no connection to the main board with power applied. I'm sure it is dead. Any advice much appreciated, thank you
