id agree i wouldnt take any risks either. i dont know what they are saying etc all i can say is that we get hundreds of paypal payments without issues. When checking out and selecting paypal they paypal site will offer various choices. I cant help with paypal issues as they take control of the transaction after you press the paypal button it is not handled by our site.

Id have a look at the powermax for a wireless solution or the texecom premier for a wired one. Alternativly the galaxy 2-20 includes an onboard modem for texting via the landline
-
No i wouldnt do that. WHat they are talking about us sending paymants via email. We have hundreds of paypal orders and we havnt done this before. I would have a look about paying from balance etc in paypal when checking out.
-
you should be able to select pay from balance. The payment pages are controlled by paypal not us im afraid. Support

unless you are disableing your leds remotely that is not a function of the panel etc. SUpport

That battery is not replaceable, if and when it fails. YOu are right it is to maintain settings and logs Support

The wisdom does not include the gsm and due to low demand we dont stock it. so in light of the above id recommend the powermax+ system.

The temp range is approx -10 to +50 so will be fine in most applications The software that comes with the btr is not limited but some higher end features are not available on the btr as its a budget machine etc. Yes you can view and playback etc over ip. You will need to set up your router etc to allaw remote access to the machine. A good way to do this if unsure is to use vpn. SUpport

Honeywell LED remote keypad into Optima Compact
Secware_Tech6 replied to johngrayson's topic in Intruder Alarms
id suggest you have a problem on the 'sound' cable to your kepads. Test by disconnecting all keypad wiring and testing with a short (approx 1m) of cable from the panel to the keypad. If you still get no tones, send an email to technical@securitywarehouse.co.uk and we will arrange an rma number to swap it. Support -
Micheal The silverline unit you have referenced is a 480tvl model, where as the secware one is a 420tvl model so the sensor element on the silverline has a better spec. However the secware unit has a varifocal lens (adjustable zoom) so if far more flexible. If you have a look at the secware SECWARED007 this is a 480tvl unit with varical lens as well. Are you looking at high or low expected tempreature here? you will need to provide a cable for 12v dc and a coax for video You will need an additional psu. We cannot provide saturday deleivery to europe. There is no import tax to most eu member states from the uk. So no there is nothing more to pay. Support

Camera Selection for indoor use with Zoneminder & Ubuntu
Secware_Tech6 replied to norous's topic in CCTV
we cant support zoneminder here (but vmware does not support pci pass though so your card will never work as a virtual machne) but to choose a camera you need to consider a few factors. what do you want to capture (also any system that captures PAL composite images will be capturing an interlcaed image. This doenst work well with digital capture so most machines use a format called CIF or 2CIF. Both only capture the ODD or EVEN lines. see http://www.axis.com/products/video/camera/progressive_scan.htm for a full explanation as to why so you can only really capture up to 288 vertical pixels with normal composite cameras. So dont do your calculations on capture res at 576 pixels (most pal can support) as you will not be capturing at that res. Its difficult to advise how to work this out (it takes a lot of training and experience) on a forum in a few lines. but a good quick way is to use your camera phone at its lowest res or the ress that closly matches your capture resolution to work out views required. -
id suggest you have a look at the accenta poly. You could use an optima compact but there is very little room inside the case. Support

Recommendations on which brand of wireless alarm
Secware_Tech6 replied to naiem's topic in Intruder Alarms
A yale system will be far easier to fit if your looking for easy, but obviously this is not a pro solution. Pro systems are far harder to install and configure so as your looking for diy type gear id suggest you stay with yale. I have no expereice of them other than taking them out when i used to work for an installation company. Support -
A complex installation with outdoor pre-alarm
Secware_Tech6 replied to chfn's topic in Intruder Alarms
You can transmit images wirelessly but the bottom end stuff tends not to work and the proper stuff is expensive. Depends on the site and the risk really. Yes the agility can, but the watchin and watchout are movement senors designed for inside or outside use. Yes the watchouts (Dualtec varient) can do this. re grade 3 yes, some use IR to detect immediatly in front of the lens others use mw to detect in a bubble. -
No thats wrong. see below Panel Sounder Strobe- STB- Strobe/Bell+ Hold+ Bell- TRG- Bell Hold Off- SAB Tmpr RTN-

duccen 1. You cant wire shock sensors as you would have no means to power them, door contacts dont need power so thats why you would use them. 2. In theory as many as you want but ideally you only want one else fault finding is impossible 3. No

A complex installation with outdoor pre-alarm
Secware_Tech6 replied to chfn's topic in Intruder Alarms
Do you mean wireless images as well? This can be very expenisve to achieve, but you need to know what recievers your monitoring station have, this will then dictate what tranmitters you need. That is not a wireless unit, but i dont understand...immunity from what? Any Grade 3 detector would provide mask detection. again this depends on your transmitter, you would usually connect the transmitter to an external amplifier and horn speakers, ie a PA system. Microphones are harder to achieve as it depends on the environment. I think your planning on getting a panel that does all this built in? If thats the case then you cant. All systems like this are built from components, ie control panel, rf reciever, cctv transmitter, sensors, amplifiers etc etc. Support -
yes the watchout is a good detector, but most popular is the redwall units. transmission is a complicated thing, you can either use your dvr and be logged on viewing live images, or use something like an adpro etc Adpro fast traces (full blown transmission to an arc) are about

duccen In answer to your points below 1. You should be ok but IMO its very close to the limit. I would in your situation not use pir's where the dog is normally and use perimiter protection here (ie doors and windows) 2. Yes and Yes but it is the best way. 3. Yes and will show as a seperate zone to the built in contact, but has no tamper input. 4. The powermax is an excellent unit. Hybrid wise either the scantronic or the honeywell galaxy 2-20. Support

Joe Looking at the ordering system it appears you are using a non uk card is that correct?
-
you wont be able to get anything other than a user manual online for obvious reasons. While putting sounders in decoys may work its certainly not something we can recommend im afraid. Support
-
what do you mean by access key? Is there a key cam lock securing the unit? If so you will need to ask the maintainer/installer of the system as without that key there is not a lot you can do. Support

Scantronic 9651 - Engineer code guard feature
Secware_Tech6 replied to mel's topic in Intruder Alarms
if you dont disable high security engineer access then its not a problem as the engineer code wont work without a valid user code either set or unset. Its a good idea not to disable this feature anyway. My reasoning for honeywell or texecom for most jobs is because they are easier to work on. The texecom manuals are the best out there. -
the front door contact is not essential but i would recommend. Yes you could house a speaker in the decoy box but this isnt the best way, the best way is to have it in the hallway etc. You need some sort of feedback from the alarm so you can tell its armed etc. the shutdown period is to save the battery life, ie if the rrom has been empty for say 5 mins then on detection it will transmit. As you move around the room on your normal daily routine, if it were to transmit every time it would exhaust the battery very quickly. This shut down stops it transmitting until the unit hasnt detected motions for some time.
-
it seems you have decided on the ion so i wont dwell on that (fine panel mind) I would strongly advise you do use door contacts anyway as wireless pirs shutdown for 3 -5 mins (depending on brand) from the last activity to save battery life. Door contacts dont do this and detect every opening and closing. If you use handheld rf fobs (as opposed to remote keypads) then you can arm from outside. You will need to wire an internal speaker from the panel so that you can here it arming.
