  1. Id agree, from the info above seems your entry zone isnt starting for whatever reason.
  2. What were the connections on the old handset, can you upload a photo?
  3. there isnt a head directly compatible but the voltek and/or the gjd units will definetly work with a little work. Do any of your existing heads still function. I need to know how they switch on their signal wire, then i can tell you how to wire in another brand. But voltek/gjd switchers are not dear might be simpler to replace the switcher too.
  4. As above it looks like the vantage unit is a vandal resistant dome, so id look at this one http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2229
  5. It sounds like you have either a wiring issue on the data line to the keypad or a cable fault. To test use a short length of cable and wire the keypad directly to the panel. It could also be an overload issue what is your day mode current?
  6. as above when you silence the alarm have a look at what leds are illuminated. Id also assume a tamper problem
  7. Some CMS software allows this via PC. I dont know of a product that uses an iphone app to achieve the same. You could use a speech dialler and connect the speaker output to a PA amplifier. However the output of such devices is a speaker output not a low level output so you may need a speaker to line level converter. This is not an ideal solution as it is not using the product as designed. The best way is to use a dvr with 2 way audio, a PA amp, horn speakers etc and a CMS solution.
  8. the 593 will function with a current 800 series keypad.
  9. I assume IV post code is high up in the highlands of scotland. There are issues with parcel force. A few years ago we used them for some parcels but the strikes at the time made it impracticable
  10. Thankyou the weights of the keyfobs was incorrect. This has now been updated.
  11. You missed one. The sab. It's often that especially as the temps change etc. TRy looping that out. If it still does it then its either a dry joint or a failed panel tamper switch. If be surprised if it was either. Also when you have looped out the detector and keypad tamp circuit did you remove the wires. Ie it can be a voltages issue. Again its unlikely and id say it will be bell and or bell cable related.
  12. Internet Access isnt that common on control panels due to the potential secuity issues. I know that texecom do have this as a custom option on the premier ip module, and the scantronic ion40 has some web features. It is something thats becoming more popular. Equipment wise for 16 hard wired zones id recommend either a galaxy dimension or a texecom premier. If you just want remote control via usb, modem, serial etc the prem might be a better option then you could remote desktop into a local pc running the wintex software.
  13. Engineer codes are programmable by the engineer. There isn't a backdoor one as that would seriously affect the panels security. Batteries are available but you need to know which one you need.
  14. Do me a favour remove the detector and only have the keypad unit. It really sounds like an acked event. Either that or a faulty panel. If be surprised though. The only thing that concerns me is the unknown event in the log. Can you confirm the exact wording and events either side please. James
  15. I'd be surprised. First of all if confirm its not environmental. Can you swap 2 units over ie between rooms? If not if completly mask the lens and are if it continues. There are many more likely reasons before if suspect interference.
  16. What is dispalyed on the panel. Your install manual will tell you haw to factory reset it if needed, obviously we cant say on a public forum. But i doubt a reset will help unless you have programmed something wrong.
  17. It wires to the telephone handset. Between 4 and 0v.
  18. if using standalone floods with sensors i doubt any will have the switching capacity needed. If using voltek low voltage pirs and switchers then it will be fine, but you will need to run a lv cable to the heads and a mains cable for the floods.
  19. ensure the light level is correctly set. DOes the light function manually? or are they the same lights with 3 sesnors?
  20. Dan Yes touch tone phone yes If it has the gsm expander yes. SOme panels do sms texting from the built in modem over the landline, unfortunatly the powermax does not.
