Intruder Alarms

I have installed the door contact (to replace one that ceased to operate). I have followed the "deleting" and "learning" instructions for my 500r panel and acheived the "double beep" to indicate that the panel has learned the code. However when the panel is "set", although all other sensors set off the alarm when activated, the door sensor does not activate the alarm on door opening or tamper (the led on the sensor does operate). Please advise what my next step should be.

Hi I am considering helping a friend upgrade his old system which I believe is a Menvier TS700. Under consideration is a Scantronic 9752 from yourselves which I see comes complete with a keypad and is attractive because it comes with the option for wireless expansion. First question: are there any alternatives you might suggest against this choice and Secondly: Please could you point me to a copy of the installation/programming manual for the 9752 so I can have a preliminary read through. Hi, hoping you can help. Following a recent burglary thought I'd try and fix my alarm system! I've currently got a 12 year old Optima system that doesn't really work. Wondering if a new battery would fix it, or should I simply replace the unit with an upgrade? I have a number of wired sensors around the home, not sure if I should replace or keep? External sounder may also need an upgrade, as well as placing an additional box on the front of the house, not sure if I should fit a dummy box,or wire in an additional sounder? I have just purchased a Honeywell IS3016 security alarm sensor which does not appear to work with my existing alarm system showing as a fault on the control panel. It would be very unusual for the sensor to be faulty and assume there is a compatibility issue. the only item I can think of is the EOL setting which I have not encountered before and not aware of selectivity. I previously purchased from you the Honeywell Active8 DT which worked fine first time. My alarm system is an Accenta 8 Can you advise me what the problem may be or EOL settings.

Hi All, I have a Pyronix V2 GSM dialler. Previously I could dial into the V2, enter the User Code, then enter the remote control menu. I have not changed any settings, but the User Code is now not being accepted when dialing in (the system voice just requests multiple times for a User Code to be entered, then it times out). I have checked: - The User Code still works when entered directly into the V2 using the keypad. - Status SMS messages are still responded to in the normal manner. HI, Should the KP-250 keypad play sounds? I can hear beeps when i press buttons however there is no count down when the alarm is setting, there is no sound when a recorded message is played and there is no chime when the door opens... Am i missing something? i have turned the volume up - the beep gets louder. I have pressed 8 and the alert(bell) icon is lit and the chime is set to on and melody chime. Do i need another speaker installing or is my keypad faulty? Thanks in advance

I have replaced an old Optima XM6 panel with a new Optima Compact panel The system works fine with program 1 My problem is I cannot get it to part set using program 2 I enter my code, the exit beep starts, but when I press the PROG key, the exit tone, that should stop, keeps going, so I can't get to select program 2 Tried reset to factory defaults but it did not help Thanks

What is the difference between the Texecom Veritas R8+ and the Veritas Excel??? According to the comparison chart there doesnt seem to be a difference in hardware? Is there a difference in software? If so what are these differences? Once again securitywarehouse* are the CHEAPEST by 68p with their competitors triton direct! Id use securitywarehouse though as you have good service!

From product information on the manufacturer's website I was under the impression that the backup battery was supplied with the Scantronic i-on 40. Since this is not the case can you recommend a suitable battery for this system?

Hi, I have the ADE honeywell accenta mini gen 4 with LCD keypad and as second pad I have the Simple Set Reader.Can I buy the ADE Infomaer speech dialler and use it on this hardware? I also want to buy a 16ohm internal speaker. Now I have set 2 programms, 1 for in the day when we are going (every PIR is on) and 1 for night use (all PIRs are on downstars but upstairs they are off). Now my Simple Set REader is upstairs, how can I program it that only program2 for night is on when I go with the FOB on the pad? Thanks

Firstly I should point out that I am a chartered instrumentation engineer so am used to dealing with complex wired and programmable systems - provided that the appropriate instructions are available to me. I have fitted the above on a upc window. 1. the led is continuously flashing. Is this correct? 2. The unit is fitted to the position A at right hand side of the frame and will alarm on tapping the right hand panel but not when tapping the left hand panel. Are two units required on the window frame?

Hi, I have a texecom PIR which has a normally closed relay, unfortunately I have a voice off device which plays MP3s when triggered. This requires a Normally Open input which closes to trigger the MP3. Is there an off the shelf device which would convert this PIR from Normally Closed to Normally Open input? Many Thanks

Hi, I have a problem with a missing cable. It is the cable between the panel and the GPS/GPRS module. It seems impossible to buy the cable in Sweden. So I have purchased components to make my own cable. But when I looked in the (Swedish) instruction manual it looks like the wires are connected cross-over. (see attached files) Can someone please confirm how the wires should be connected? straight (Example 1 in the attached file) or crossed (Example 2 in the attached file)??

I am almost there.. a few questions left. I am looking for a down to earth intruder alarm system for my house. My electrician will fit it. I think this ADE accenta will do. I am looking for a small external sounder. Is the Eurosec XS3D a good option? I would like to order the one with the orange bottom, so which items do I have to order? Hi can anyone help me, I have installed this alarm system myself and i can set it fully,however I cant part set it. I have gone through the programs ,program 1 does everything,program 2 i have set up to just do downstairs. I have gone through the manual and done as it says, but when i set the alarm it says that once the code is typed in and the countdown begins press 'P' and the tone will stop then press the program you wish ie. 2. But for me the countdown doesnt stop, I press 'P' and 2 and it does nothing and it still says program '1' on the LCD keypad. Please help before I use a hammer on it as it is very frustrating!!!!! Please help thanks
