Intruder Alarms

Intruder alarms, programming, design advise, detector selection.

  1. Started by secware3,

Hi Im looking to connect a module to an intruder alarm to send a signal to a panel when the alarm goes off. Is this possible with something like the Flex trigger module?

  2. Started by secware3,

, I have an older alarm panel that does not need EOL resistors. Is there a way to use this device without the EOL resistors selected as a normally closed circuit like traditional alarm circuits? Before I had the texecom AED 0001 which is fine but this new replacement talks about EOL resistors built in in the literature. I just want to know if it is compatible with the texecom veritas panel which doesn't use EOL

Hi, Just purchased the ACT1313 PLUS Spike suppressor. Could you advise if just the RED/BLACK/EARTH wires only need to be connected or do you also need to connect extra wires from the terminal blocks to an offending circuit. Basically not sure what the terminal block is for? As you have probably gathered I am DIYer not an alarm specialist. Any advise would be grateful

  7. https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/intruder-alarm-equipment-c-36/remote-signalling-c-36_57/eaton-scantronic-adapter-board-p-6480.html ------------------------------------------------------ I have an older i-ON40 Scantronics alarm (Cooper Security Limited) which I would like to reconfigure to enable remote access. However I haven't found any online information that can confirm if this older model is compatible with the remote App. It is currently running firmware version 4.04.17. Is the current firmware compatible with any remote Apps that are available? If not is it possible to upgrade the firmware? Which WIFI module would be required? COM-DATA-WIFI or COM-DATA-4…

  11. Hi I have installed a Visonic Powermaster 30 and an LCD keypad KP250 I read in some KP-250 documents a reference to "Input Voltage (V DC) - 12" under "Power Description" section. The electronics board in fact shows "DC IN" next to a 2 pin JST H2 connector. I was wondering if: the lcd keypad can in fact be powered up from an external power source? if affirmative, what is the connector pinout (positive and negative pins)? and voltage to apply is the stated 12v? thanks in advance r.

  12. Started by secware3,

I currently have a Visonic MCR-304 receiver used with a MCT-320 Magnetic Contact Transmitter on a door. The MCR-304 has developed a fault and I believe this item is no longer available. I was looking at the Pyronix UR2-WE as a possible replacement. I appreciate I will need to replace the magnetic contact transmitter; is there a compatible device and will the Pyronix UR2-WE be suitable. The MCR-304 is connected to a Texecom Premier Elite 24 and uses the 12 volt from the alarm. Many thanks

Can a DIYER change a wired room sensor (blue sensor light constantly going on with no motion detected ) it a Castle Euro mini . If so can you please give relevant information as cannot find it in the user manual RIN S 1209-5 or programming RINS1210-6 to get rid of sensor removal tamper alarm

Hi, I was looking to purchase 8x Menvier SD3 Speech Dialler. I can see this is now obsolete and the replacement is Eaton Universal 4G speech dialler. Our design is based around a PSTN version and we utilise our own PABX system so the BT PSTN switchoff will not be a problem for us. Do you have an alternative that supports a telephone line connection? Regards, Rubel

  15. Hi. Do you have wireless window vibration sensors in brown that work with Galaxy wireless alarm system?

  17. Started by Tony,

I have a 9600 alarm installed and need to relocate the keypad, problem being the keypad is on a under stairs wall and the internal bell box is directly behind the keypad on the inside of the wall, the wire between the 2 is about 3” long, can I disconnect the bell? Move the keypad and reconnect the bell, I know the tamper will go off but will it be ok to just put the code in when it does go off ? thanks Tony

What USB to 232 cables are people using for G2 compatibility? It seems that my dimension USB cable will not play ball with the G2 panel. Works fine for dimension panels and associated 232 cable, just not the G2 panel and cable., Thanks John

Looking for a shock sensor. I have an isolated gantry with access stairway. Trying to identify if there is a shock sensor / virbration sensor that can be placed on the metal structure that will send alarm when detection noted. Do you have a device that will perform in this manner

  25. Started by Secware2,

Texicom Premier Elite 24 panel, siren and medusa PIRs, Order Number: ***** 31st March and recently completed the installation hard wiring 5 PIR’s into each of 5 of the 8 zones available within the panel. I have set all 5 zones ‘double pole / EOL’ but the panel is showing tamper fault error message. Following further investigations it appears the medusa PIR require 2 resistors to be installed across the tamper 2k2 ohm and zone 4k7 ohm. My first question is – is this correct and secondly do you stock these items.
