My alarm installer went missing last year and has left me with an alarm system that doesn't seem to be operating smoothly. He left me an engineers installation manual but the grandmaster code he wrote down doesn't work. So I took the panel off the wall and carried out the steps detailed in the Agility 3 manual page 17. When reconnecting power it makes the panel announce a tamper error and refuses to do anything on the keypad. Putting DIP switch 3 back in to the on position stops the errors but wont let me change PIN codes in the grandmaster menu. Hi Guys, I recently bought a Visonic Powermax Express as a replacement panel for my PowerMax Pro - after 6 years it decided to give up the ghost. Anyway, GSM Network is pretty weak in my village - I'm getting it sorted BUT I can't seem to set my system with the fault? I could with my PowerMax Pro, it'll still set the system, but yet this one won't? Am I missing something? The system currently says NOT READY and looking in the trouble log, it says GSM Network Failure. No other faults. Any advise would be a great help? Regards, Michael

Hello I have managed to obtain a copy of Wintex(v5) and the Veritas UDL. I've read that Wintex can also allow the programming of the veritas excel. Is this true? I can't find the option under "account" that allows you to choose a veritas; the list just has the premier systems... With the Veritas UDL am I required to buy a texecom PC-COM? Can't I just make my own RS232 using the tx rx and 0v (pinout 2 3 5 on the rs232) Can you please tell me whether or not I can build my own cable?

Hello, The LEDs have stopped working on my Novagard 6 bell box, the siren is working fine though. The user guide talks about spare led holders but not sure if the bell came with spare LEDs in these holders. Can I buy spare LEDS? Tried google and did not find anything related yet. I am not sure if there would be spare in the bell box so thinking of buying them before I climb up the ladder and open the bell box. Any help advise would be high appreciated. Thanks

Hi, i bought a powermax plus alarm, and have just attached the external sounder to complete the system (risco novagard6), however, upon arming and disarming using the keyfob, the external sounder sounds for 1 second. this doesnt happen if i use the keypad on the pm+ though. Please could you point me in the right direction.

Hello, I have a wired fire and intruder alarm system, with the main hub in my house. The sensors are in a recording studio at the end of my garden. The fire/smoke sensor, above my recording desk is inaccessible and has failed. As the wires are inaccessible, I want to replace it with a wireless option. What do you suggest?

I am trying to install Scantronic 9448EUR-90 board with two Takex MS100E multi pattern sensors connected in series on Zone 2 (all other zones are disabled) and Elmdene Quartz 1000live sounder. My problem is that control panel shows temper fault - all boxes are closed, all cable connections verified. If I reset the panel by disconnecting battery and main supply the temper light will go off Zone 2 light will go on and when you try to set the alarm with users code the temper lights come up on again. Could somebody recommend how I can solved the problem?

I recently purchased a Honeywell galaxy G2K3WR-01-C and ADE Honeywell 8IR103 PIR. I require some technical support for wiring the Activ8 detector (ADE Honeywell 8IR103 PIR). I have the usual manual which comes with the panel and the detector but it is not that clear. I am simply putting one detector per zone and resistors at the detector end. I which to know where the resistors are actually connected to and where cables are connected to. Would you be able to assist please? Also, can you advise what speech dialler would I need for this system please ?

Hi was wondering if anyone could help, I've just installed my first visonic powermax complete intruder system and I have a problem with the wireless siren. What seems to happen is I enrol the siren using the selftest button and it operates normally then after a couple of days the siren doesn't sound under an alarm condition and seems to totally drop of the system. I'm now wondering if it's a dud battery or a possible pcb fault. I've tried using the diagnostic function to check and keep getting the (not ok) message and I've also measured the battery and it seems fine but I'm not sure if the draw is dragging it down once connected. I Purchased a Galaxy Dimension panel last week. It didn't come with an installation or programming manual.I have found some information on line. But need a few answers if possible. What are the external bell box connections? What are the internal sounder connections? I have the system operating with a few detectors and the system has 1 fault which is because it does not have a telephone connection. Can this facility be turned of as I don't need this facility at the moment? If not what is the best way to clear this fault so the system has no faults and is usable.

On the verge of ordering the new Powermaster 10 kit from Visonic.Looks exceptional. Two questions if I may: 1) I understand that the line from the telephone master socket must connect to LINE. However is it crucial that the main telephone is connected to SET. I think this set-up allows the alarm to sieze the incoming call. Would it be possible to run the telephone off an extension socket or from the master socket itself. Also there is some info about RJ31X plug which gets over the problem- is this USA only? I ordered a Scantronic I-ON 40 from yourselves and I would like to protect my integral garage. Can you let me know whether an additional Scantronic EXCELR 12m Wireless PIR (XCELR) would suffice?
