Hi. After installing a new accenta mini today i was ready to power up. connected mains but on connecting battery connections i saw the battery fuse blow. I checked all wiring, found to be correct and changed the fuse, connected battery and again the fuse blew immediately. I then disconnected all wiring from the system, i.e. bells and detectors, so it was 'as arrived new' and again, replaced battery fuse, powered mains and connected battery and the same thing happened again. I left battery & fuse out and powered up from mains. Alarm seemed to be working ok but i then noticed smoke coming from a resistor above and slightly right to the battery fuse, so i…

Hi, I hope somebody can shed a light on this fault I have on the Texecom Excel panel. Installed this on Saturday but Zone 6 keeps triggering after being armed after a few minutes. Checked the Pir and that seems OK. So removed the Pir in circuit and strapped a 10K resister in Z6 but still activates after a few minutes. Is there a simple solution to this or a faulty panel. All other zones are working good. Using EOL method. Thanks in advance.

I need to replace 2 brown sensors for white sensors. The sensors I have are GS612 and a GS620 I believe. My front door is as previously fitted a normal opening door. The rear door has been changed from a sliding door to french style opening doors. Both doors also have magnetic opening strips in addition to the shock sensor. Can you tell me what the differences are between the sensors? Do they use the same wiring? Should I be changing them like for like?

have purchased the Honeywell model from you DT7450 and have just come to start fitting it. However looking at the instructions it states don't fit facing direct sunlight or facing windows yet its a "dual tech" that you recommended for a conservatory. I now that me previous conservatory had a similar model but as it was approaching ten years old and the size of a house brick, I thought I would replace it. Is this Honeywell model suitable?

I saw a website similar to ebay recently. One local guy is selling GSM jammers for a tenner or so. He had 10K feedbacks by the time I found it. I guess 9999 of them was bought by thieves. Hence I understand GSM alarms are placebo for the owners... My question however - the wireless alarm sensors work on frequencies close to GSM 300-900MHz right? So it should be fairly simple to mask sensors with a jammer. As long as the jammed sensors cannot send alarm signal to the control panel - the whole system is pecked... is this the right picture? (I mean the more expensive alarms must have somewhat a poll interval alarm but I guess that should be around 2+ minutes - in…

Hi. Do you know if there is a known bug in Galaxy G2 20 alarm such that after an AC Fail it can only be reset by Engineer. Mine offers Manager Rest Required but this does not work and I have to use the Engineer login. Checked the forum but could not find any relevant info. Thanks in advance.

The Scantronic Sounder External Wired Backplate, SDR-WEXT-G2, installed a few years ago worked perfectly until about a week ago, when I noticed that the 'comfort LEDs' had stopped working. On further investigation the unt does not sound the siren when an alarm condition is triggered, although the internal Scantronic 9651PD does. On opening the external sounder box its cover tamper switch does not trigger the external siren but again it does trigger the 9651PD. On further investigation, the internal battery of the external sounder is fully charged, therefore I suspect the sounder circuit board is faulty. Are replacement circuit boards available for this unit as I don't…

Just bought a Powermax+ with some sensors and a GSM module. I wonder if I can connect both the control panel and the GSM module to the same powersupply, thus reducing the number of wires needed. One possible solution would be to connect the power to the control panel, and then another wire from the control panel (2 wires at the same connectionpoint) to the GSM module. Another way would be to use some sort of "Y" connection to route power to both consumers.

I want a texecom control panel that can report zones triggered(names&location), users(name&number-if possible) who armed and/or disarmed the system, power failure, battery fault and siren fault. I'll be very grateful if you have or can have such a system. My clients want to get such informations(esp. Users& zones) specifically.

Hi - my Visonic Keypad is an MKP - 150 and I think it is dead. The Green lights are on but when I arm or disarm the system no noise comes from the Kepad itself and no Red light shows - nor an amber light for "trouble"I am sure it is powered by mains so do you think it is "dead?

I have recently purchased a Menvier SD3 dialler from you to use with a Honeywell GD4 Accenta alarm system. My electrician has successfully configured the Accenta Alarm outputs to work correctly with the SD3 dialler (texting and calling fine), but is having some trouble workling out how to connect the SD3 outputs as required as the manual does not give a great deal of info. I understand that the outputs are open collector and therefore will need a suitable relay to provide a clean switch. Can you please recommend any particular relay modules (boards) for connection of the following outputs: 1 - To control heating system on/off 2 - Wired back to Accenta panel as Panic …

Hello, I have purchased a CQR 3/8 Flush Contact 1 RD 4 Wire White, but it does not work on my door. Most probably, it's because the gap est too large and the metal door interfere with the contact detection. I am looking buying a new flush contact. Which one do you recommand? You have so many. The installation environnement is: metalic door, large gap (difficult to measure, probably at least 10mm), if possible a contact with direct wiring. Looking forward your answer
