  1. The powermax comes with a wall mount transformer. The powering (mains) is flying lead. So yes you can direct into a spur or fit a plug and plug it in.
  2. yes. It's best imho to have only a device per zone. This will then allow easy identification of the device that alarmed etc. You will wire the circuit pair ie zone 2 to the alarm pair in the detector.
  3. In what way? If you mean it can be unplugged then yes it could. But you shouldnt plug them in anyway. They should be hard wired into a spur. But any proper panel has battery backup so if your burglar unplugged it he would have to waut a minimum of 12 hours for the panel to go flat. Then if your remote signalling the panel would send a low battery before dying. If its audible only the sounder would sound once the panel died. All that assumes it installed and configured correctly
  4. A wireless expander is to allow you to put wireless detectors onto a wired panel. (as a rule) it will not in itself wirelessly communicate with the panel. I would suggest a hybrid panel, say a galaxy 2-20 or a scantronic with wired detectors on the one side and wirelss the other. But you may need more stable detectors on the wireless side. If so honeywell do a wireless dualtech for the galaxy range.
  5. Andy. Id say she was spam. Either way ive dropped the account.
  6. Agreed. Any hard wired PIR will do the job. Depends on the environment. Good basic general purpose Pir. Honeywell IS215

  8. Maybe one of these? http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2236
  9. the galaxy 2-20 has a built in modem for text messaging on a std tel line. This will text as you need.
  10. Id agree, i wouldnt connect the mag direct to these outputs. Plus you may need an additional psu to run the lock. A relay would be the best way.
  11. agreed. It will require an internal sounder. Id use the secware 16 Ohm speaker
  12. That unit is a transmitter unit only. The sounders would connect to the reciever / control panel
  13. VIsonic powermax, risco watchout or scantronic ION. All will need additional modules to perform text messaging.
  14. lol i wish there was a test way. Only real way is soak testing it. SOme rooms will need the detector to be adjusted differently as you have found out. re a better sensor. Thats a difficult one. From a support point of view we have hew issues with this unit, the bosch blue line, but do get complaints on the pyronix unit. So id say no. But IMHO the best pet sensor out there (plus bear in mind im not a fan of the technology) is the blueline DT
  15. Sorry. I missed your reply. I presume you can access and exit engineer mode without issue? Is the mains and battery ok? also is the tel line disabled or connected? James
  16. Im afraid i dont know the reo system. Its entirly possible as they are the same firm. But i cant say for sure. Sorry.
  17. Yes The any of the external prox readers are weatherproof. take a look at the act5 prox for instance
  18. hi ravis It depends on what you want to do. Id try and break it down as locking systems are a seperate topic really. Concentrate on the system and its requirements first. THen we can go through locking types. James
  19. they are but they should be fine with a cat. What you must ensure is that any pet on any sensor cannot get within 6 ft of the detector. The creep zone must also be disabled. Also they cant look at stairs. To be fair cats are more of a problem than dogs due to the things they jump on etc. Can you get me an example photo of the room from the sensors perspective? James
  20. That unit is a single pole. Ill have to ask sales re the price of a dp unit.

  22. I would say that you have an uncleared alert. How are you arming it?
