Intruder Alarms

Hi Could you tell me what passive would replace this one as it has 3 extra connections to the normal 6. These are marked C+ , E- , and FTA. There is a wire looped from the power minus connection to the FTA connection and a brown wire in the cable connected to the C+ connection. What is the purpose of these extra connections ? The reason for replacement is that this passive leaves the led indicator on permanently which doesn't seem correct. I have always used risco quads in my own setup and they seem very reliable. What USB to 232 cables are people using for G2 compatibility? It seems that my dimension USB cable will not play ball with the G2 panel. Works fine for dimension panels and associated 232 cable, just not the G2 panel and cable., Thanks John

My alarm installer went missing last year and has left me with an alarm system that doesn't seem to be operating smoothly. He left me an engineers installation manual but the grandmaster code he wrote down doesn't work. So I took the panel off the wall and carried out the steps detailed in the Agility 3 manual page 17. When reconnecting power it makes the panel announce a tamper error and refuses to do anything on the keypad. Putting DIP switch 3 back in to the on position stops the errors but wont let me change PIN codes in the grandmaster menu. I’ve got a customer who wants a zone removing and an extra door contact adding to an existing hardwired system. Is there an converter or interface panel that can sit aside the control box and run a wireless zone? Any advice would be welcome.

I have just orderd a ADE Optima gen4 8 zone from you. It will replace a c&k Active 5. I have the Engineers code for engineering mode. The problem is I can not stop the bell box from sounding when I disconect the bell wiring or when I try to open the bell box. The bell box was fitted and suppled by Abacus and is about 3 years old. currently have a Scantronic 9452 alarm system that is going off at random times when not activated. When activated the alarm goes off and the tamper light is flashing even though the alarm has not been tampered with. Also the service and fault light flash intermittently.

Item Scantronic 9651UK with 9941 keypad. I installed this control unit to replace another 9651 unit which had developed a fault. After installation I tried to exit the 'Installer Mode' and the unit reported 'Zone Flt' on zones Z01 through Z08 and the Service LED is permanently illuminated. I have checked power to the Ziper intruder detectors and circuit continuity for the FSLs and they seem to be OK. I did notice that the 9651 unit had a manufacturer's date of Jan 05, so it seems to have been in storage for some considerable time but that aside I would appreciate some assistance in identifying where the problem lies and if it is a defective unit, getting it swapped out.…

What is the differences between the CQR FW/GD04 Communicator (GSM) and the visonic GSM-100? Are there any other gsm-modules that are compatible with the pm+? My pm+ controlpanel is bought in sweden, will I have any problems if I buy any of the gsm-modules you have from UK? Will the sms-messages still be in swedish?

Hi all, I have just purchased the MCM-140+ keypad for use with an standard Powermax Alarm. When the alarm is in Enroll Keyfob mode and I press the * for two seconds, the alarm does not recognise the keypad. I have just re-enrolled all other sensors and a keyfob without any problems. In my house I got a security system called Gardtec and i think it is Risco / Gardtec Contour LED RKP (580 series) because mine does look like this one as it is show on this website. i would like to use this security system however i cant reset the program or set it. I been looking on the internet i belive i need the engineer code or master code to reset the program but i dont have this codes. Could you please help me where or how can i get this codes to reset it or how much is it cost for engineer to come to do it for me !? I need to replace a couple of PIRs and am looking at some which have eol resistors built in. They will be in a circuit wired in series - just the 2 - and there is already an eol resistor wired into the circuit at the panel. Can these PIRs be switched so that they show zero resistance as I am not sure what adding extra resistance into the circuit would be handled by the very old panel.

Hi all I'm new to this forum, so please excuse my lack of technical knowledge. A couple of days ago I was moving stuff around under my staircase where I have an Alarm panel covered inside its metal casing. I'm certain I did not touch it, suddenly the house alarm went off and the Keypad panel was showing Bell fuse fault. I went ahead and replaced the bell fuse and it but it kept blowing. I had the alarm engineer who installed it come round and he disconnected all wiring to the PCB and still fuse kept blowing.
