Installed a new Galaxy Flex 20 with mk8 keypad and a couple of RF zones. Had some previous issue with the tampers and low battery in a few PIRs but that has been sorted now. I have a new 7.2Ah battery fully charged. Problem is when I set the alarm I get this "ALERT-BATT LOW", ent=CONTINUE SET on the panel, and then after pressing enter "ALERT-FAULT RST" ent=CONTINUE SET. So I can set the system by ignoring these error, but what are these errors coming from and how to get rid of them?

What USB to 232 cables are people using for G2 compatibility? It seems that my dimension USB cable will not play ball with the G2 panel. Works fine for dimension panels and associated 232 cable, just not the G2 panel and cable., Thanks John

Having a bit of a nightmare here trying to default the user codes on the Galaxy g2-20 panel, can log in with the engineers code but when I go into the users menu the only code I can change is the engineers code itself. Also been through the engineers manual in detail and theres nothing there. Ive tried a power down and power up method that worked for me before but that doesn't seem to work either. If any1s got any ideas would be a great help cheers

Hi all... I am a sparky with a builder that would like an additional keypad adding to his Gardtec 591. The current keypad is a Contour with ACE - I assume this is a keyfob system. He only has one code, and the system was under contract with an alarm company by the previous owner, so... 1. Is his code likely to allow the integration of another keypad? 2. As he doesn't have any keyfobs (ACE) does he need another ACE compatible keypad - if not what pad would do? 3. Does the 591 allow factory resets? 4. Is a new system the better option? Many thanks, Simannjo

  11. I have a Gardtec CP8L system that I inherited when I moved into my home several years ago. I wasn't left a code so asked the company who had serviced the system a couple of months previously to reset the system. On visiting, I was told that the system was faulty and the technician was unable to repair it. He left it powered-up such that the PIRs and bell box LEDs still flashed, so still acting as a deterrent. The keypad LCD display is blank. I have not touched the system, not even turning-off the mains, in case the external bell activates and I have no way of deactivating it. Is it possible that the anti-tamper mechanisms are still working? If so, how would I deactivat…

Hello! I'm in the process of building a home alarm that consists of the G2-44 Panel and I'd like to know a couple of things: Provided that I have installed a RF Portal, 1. Will this Glass Break Detector that Securitywarehouse supplies (Model: DOM-BG- work with the Galaxy system? 2. Will the KTC 805 keyfob work with the system? If I'd like to purchase the FlexGuard Glass Break Detector and Magnetic Contact (model FG-1608T) as well as the TCB8M Keyfob would it be possible for Securitywarehouse to order them? Thanks! Looking forward to hearing from you.

I am looking at the few control panels and have a few queries which I hope you can assist with. Install is for detached 5 bed house. Suggestions are: - Texecom Veritas R8 Plus - Scantronic 9651EN - Pyronix Sterling 10 1. Believe all are grade 2 but not entirely clear. Is this correct? 2. All seem to be 8 zone but with the Sterling it has an additional dedicated PA zone. I am correct that on the others would need to allocate 1 of 8 zones for PA? 3. Last install a few years back was a Pyronix Paragon which we had no problems with. Is the new Sterling of similar quality to the Scantronic and Texecom which seem to be a lot more popular? 4. Assume all ha…

Hi there I'm thinking about installing the Telecom Elite Premier 48 in our home and I'd like to use the Connect communicator module. This module requires firmware version 4 but the SW website indicates that control panel is supplied with version 3. Is this the case, or is the website out of date? If it does come with version 3 then can it be upgraded and how? Are any extra parts such as PC communicator boards required? Many thanks Guy

Hi, I am looking for some help and advice with selecting an alarm system for the house I am currently renovating. It is a four bedroom house with an external garage which I would also like protecting. I would prefer a wired system as from my experiences at work, I am not fully convinced of the reliability of wireless technology! I am nearing the first-fix stage so now is the time to start planning the alarm system. I am an industrial electrician and plan to install it myself but I have no prior experience of alarm systems or installation. Here are my thoughts so far: 1.) A colleague recommended Bosch Blue Line BLD-P sensors, what do you guys think? Would one of these…

  21. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me decide on a simple & effective alarm system. What I need is listed below. 1) 1 door contact 2) Minimum 2 PIR's (wired or not) 3) Key fob to de/activate alarm 4) Some sort of notification on activation (email, text/call) 5) camera that can record images/video when there is motion and the ability to send the images to a phone AND be viewable over the internet Ideally, I'd like the system to be controllable remotely and have as little wiring as possible. I have made allowance for 2 cat5 cables to the 2 known Camera/PIR locations. (Depending on the cost, I might also include a door peephole camera - again, I'…

Hi, Can I please ask for some help on choosing a new alarm system for my 4 bed semi house with a garage on the side. The garage has a flat roof and there is a new flat roof extension being built at the back which will give access to 2 bedrooms. I have a living room at the front and a study on one side. The open plan kitchen/diner will have large folding patio doors at the back. The house is being completely gutted so hard wiring is not a problem and I have builders and electrician in at the moment re-wiring the place. I have been told about the Scantronic 9651 and 9751 systems and i would like a bell on the outside with LED lights and a number pad that can be cont…

  24. We moved into our house previously without pets but with one of the above alarm panels. I need to replace three PIR with pet friendly ones. You advertise the Scantronic 430, is this compatible with the 9450 panel. Also I wanted to install a dialler but it seems that you are out of stock of all diallers. If there is one that is compatible with my control panel could you please let me know. Also I would like a clue as to how to wire up the dialler to my panel. Please feel free to answer any one of the points. The main one being compatibility.

I was thinking of getting a wireless alarm like powermax with a GSM backup (think it is a good feature to get events sent by sms when kids come home from school and so on). Main reason to have a wireless is that it is easy to install. I have a house with 5 rooms on the groundfloor. There are 11 windows and 4 doors. The thing is that I have a dog and a cat. Weight of the dog is 33kg. So the questions are. 1. Are the pet IR detectors reliable? They say up to 38 kg so is should be ok, but want to avoid false alarms. 2. If I want protect all windows, what would be the best method. Switches and vibrations sensors on all? It will be rather expensive... 3. I've r…
