  1. Hi, I am looking at the above kit to add 1 wireless door contact and 1/2 wireless PIR's to my existing wired system. Does anyone know how the unit is powered ? I think it's 12v but is this via a plug in transformer or does this somehow get it's power from an existing panel ? Also what frequency is this, is it 433 or 866 Mhz. Thanks George

Hi, I would be most grateful if someone could answer the following question regarding this panel as I can't seem to get hold of the installation manual for it. 1. Product description for the Euro Mini says that this panel has 10 EoL zones. Does that mean that it is FSL capable? 2. If so what are the resistor values? 3. I'm assuming that I would require a 12v 7AH backup battery for this panel. Would that be correct? Thanks in advance.

  7. Started by Eggy,

Just installed my 1st panel (in my own place)!! All seems to have gone ok but I'm wondering what to use for the "loop" connections between tamper wires. I've got 8 zones to link and "choc block" (aka terminal strip) seems a bit excessive. What have you used?

  8. I have a MCT-425 Smoke detector that warns about "Low-Battery" even though I have replaced the battery several times. I see this error on my control panel of my Visonic unit. The detector seems to be working OK, it gives med the regular 30 secons red flash. How do I remove this warning?

if you tech guys could answer this question for me it would be good. i have a customer who wants a small intruder alarm system in his outbuilding, im looking at using the scantronic 9651 en. what the customer does want tho is a chime function on an external detector (so he knows when someone is approaching when he is in the back room) this detector does not want to be on the alarm system when set. can it be programed as not used but still with a chime? or am i going to have to put a smaller panel up to (scanny 9488) just to use the chime function and to keep it seperate from the intruder alarm? hope this makes sense ... and i hope you can help. regards ..H

  10. Hi I want to use the Visonic Discovery Quad wiireless detector to protect a garden shed approx 25 meters away from the panel. do you happen to know if this particular wireless item is relaible or would you advise using hardwired ?

Hi I am considering helping a friend upgrade his old system which I believe is a Menvier TS700. Under consideration is a Scantronic 9752 from yourselves which I see comes complete with a keypad and is attractive because it comes with the option for wireless expansion. First question: are there any alternatives you might suggest against this choice and Secondly: Please could you point me to a copy of the installation/programming manual for the 9752 so I can have a preliminary read through. Kind regards and thanks Steve

  13. I'm looking to buy the GSM module for the Visonic PowerMax Complete alarm panel. Can you tell me that i do not need a central service station for this to work? If i need a Central Service Station, is this something i can setup?

TICKET QUESTION I have been installing Visonic Powermax systems for a while now and now have a customer requesting a PIR with built in camera. I understand the Powermaster 30 is the only solution? This uses the Next Cam PG2 for which I can't find a price. Also I need to know if images only go to central monitoring station?

  16. I have a Eurosec CP8L LCD. This has been very reliable. However I have had a new front door fitted which meant using a new surface mounted reed sensor for my entry/Exit contact wired in series with my back door sensor. I want to check my zone settings. I want to reset my entry time to 30secs, unfortunately I am unable to programme the zones, the display just keeps going back to "do you want to Program Chime" and will not allow me to proceed further to Program Zones. Have you any idea how I can get to the program zones. I have done a factory reset, ie:- disconnected the power, etc but to no avail. Have I pressed something I shouldn't have? I have had …

  21. I am looking to alarm my workshop. It consists of 3 rooms currently with plans to add another room in the future. There are 2 up and over doors, 1 standard access door and 1 double split opening door. 2 of these doors will be entry points with a keypad located close by. Only one of the rooms has a window. There is a cat flap in one of the doors for pet access. I have been looking on your website and come up with the following list of products for the system based around a Honeywell Accenta G4 Mini panel. I chose this panel because of price and expandability. Can you tell me if all the items on the list below are compatible ? Is there anything missing from the list that I …

  22. The instructions for this unit says that if the settings are changed the unit must be reset at the control Panel. I purchased these units to replace my existing unit and therefore do not have a Honeywell control unit or any functionality to reset PIRs. Can you tell what the reset process is? The anti - mask function, sounds a bit like anti-tamper, do you see any reason why the anti tamper and anti-mask relay out puts cannot be connected in series and both be in the anti-tamper circuit?

Description states "Many metal control panels connect 0Volt of the 12VDC supply to the case of the box." Do you know if this is true for the Honeywell Galaxy G2 panels?

  24. Hi, How do you change user and engineer code to the Texecom premier 24 panels. The manual gives details to change from eighter 4,5 or 6 numbers. I have tried with no success to program with 4 numbers and won't except only if I use 6 digit. Please if any one can help I would be grateful as I don't want to use 6 digit. Thanks.

I have a 10 year old Veritas R8 Plus Control Panel. I would like to add a Veritas Excel RKP (the one with the LCD display). I can see from the Texecom website that the two should be compatible. My question is whether the RKP will be compatible with a control panel which is as old as mine (ie I am worried that there has been a software update or some other change made since my panel went into service which is needed to control the Veritas Excel RKP). Thanks for your help. Chris
