Veritas R8 Plus and Veritas Excel RKP

I have a 10 year old Veritas R8 Plus Control Panel.  I would like to add a Veritas Excel RKP (the one with the LCD display).  I can see from the Texecom website that the two should be compatible. 

 

My question is whether the RKP will be compatible with a control panel which is as old as mine (ie I am worried that there has been a software update or some other change made since my panel went into service which is needed to control the Veritas Excel RKP).
