We would like to upgrade our CCTV system with your Secware Pro 1080 DVR and one Secware Eco 2MP AHD camera to run over existing BNC coax. Is it possible to use the existing (non-AHD) cameras on this box at the same time? or would we need to upgrade ALL the cameras to AHD ones? Thanks for your Help.

  8. I want to replace a PTZ with 2 IP cameras and send their video down a single coax? I am using NVT FLEX Switches that provide POE but I don't want to run an additional cable unless I have to? Sorry CLEER switches which are Ethernet over coax.

I inherited a analogue 8 camera system, that is a couple of years old, and mostly functioning. Id like to upgrade 3 of the cameras, the DVR and all the paired PIRs. Is there a DVR that can manage old and new cameras and the paired PIRs? I'd like to get a alerts from the PIRs, then look at the live camera if needed. To keep false alarms to a minumum I am thinking about GJD or Optex VXS PIRs. Is this a good approach, or should I upgrade to the a POE IP NVR set up?

I have an Apollo 8ch HD series DVR with what I presume are analogue cameras, using balons with dome cameras and a 12v feed via the same cat6 cable. Will the newer HD dome cameras work with this set up?

hope you could advise a product for our requirements. We maintain the electrical installations for a poultry farmer in Devon, he would like to install a CCTV security system. He would like a camera positioned on each of the 6 buildings - looking for a high quality image day and night. From a central monitoring point the sheds are arranged on a radius of 200m (furthest shed - most sheds within 50m), hard wiring the cameras would be impractical. Do you have a wireless system that would be suitable.

hi, I read the specs for the cameras I purchased off you and it says the current consumption for each camera is 200mA, since I've got 4 cameras I selected a 2A swich mode PSU just to be on the safe side. From having received the cameras, I've noticed the labels on them show 12v/700mA, and it also says this is the instructions I got with them? Is this current the maximum that the camera can take or the maximum that the camera may draw from the supply?, just if that's the case I'm guessing a 2A supply would overload.

  24. Hi, I'm going to purchase 4Nos secware HD-SDI 2MP 1080P cameras, and Im also looking to purchase the secware eco 4 channel HD-SDI DVR. I realise that the DVR already comes with a PSU to cope with a single hardrive, but no hardrive is included, I understand that the hardrive I need is to be a sata 2 type but what size will fit it's just you can get two sizes of hardrive one for desktop pc's & one for laptops that is slimmer in size? Also the DVR is Linux embedded so am I right to guess that it's just a case of installing the hardrive with no need to install any additional software for a functional operating system? Also will the secware eco dvr be full…

Could you suggest what I would need to connect a 30 foot cat6A cable running from a DVR downstairs to the loft space upstairs. I'm considering 4 channel baluns? passive or active I understand the active needs power are there any other reasons to pick one against the other. On my cat6a cable it reads LSZH-CO1-003-003-09-038 (2014/32) 146200
