  1. I am trying to find a suitable PIR detector which will trigger the alarm input on the Axis camera. 1) Is the Optex EX-35T a suitable PIR for this and would I also need the Optex Wall bracket to mount onto a wall? 2) Also, presumably this Optex PIR would need to be wired to a power socket and to the alarm input of the camera directly. Is there a PIR detector which runs on batteries and also transmits to a receiver which could then trigger the alarm input of the camera i.e. so I could have the PIR detector outside free of wires, and the camera inside triggered by a receiver powered by mains electricity?

Hi, I am considering purchase of 2 or 3 Axis 207 cameras. I need to be able to view the images on a single web page and set a feature to record if triggered by motion detection at certain times (ie after 6pm). Please could you advise if I will require additional software of any kind and also what is the light level 0.5lux? I nderstand this is low but can you give me some idea of just how dark this is? Many thanks Dan.

  3. I need to setup a camera focused on one specific cabinet in a bar. The camera needs to be activated when somebody opens that cabinet and shut off when it gets closed or 30 seconds after closing. I have a few cctv cameras already (from a different application and now un-used) but no DVR. I was wondering if there was some sort of wireless magnetic relay activation that could be used with a PC running some sort of recording software. I'm looking for ideas at this point since motion activation of the camera would be ludicrous. I'd be going through 18 hours of video a day to try and find the right 15 seconds. Unfortunately, the location of the cabinet precludes cables to it. A…

I am interested in purchasing a new CCTV system. When I try to download the Data sheet for the "ESP Digi view 4 kit" I receive the following message, from Adobe Reader "The file is damaged and could not be repaired" Please can you e-mail me this information. Thanks

I called today and all your lines were busy. I am looking for a device to record someone who is damaging my customers property including a car which is parked outside their house. This device needs to operate in partial darkness. The image has to be good so that the police will arrest and a jury will be satisfied to convict. I can of course provide more info if required. Andy

  6. Started by Geoff_Ott,

Our community hall has a CCTV system based around a Mitsubishi 1024E time lapse recorder which is 7 years old. We are experiencing tape drive problems and wonder if the recorder has reached the end of its useful life. I note that the Vista VVRL-27 is listed as a replacement. Can you tell me if the changeover to the Vista is a simple exercise? Can you also advise me if a more up-to-date recorder using DVD technology is available? Many thanks and best wishes for 2008.
