No this is incorrect and has been amended. The RS232 I imagine you’re using this for the remote programming SW ? Visonic make a new USB version which is compatible with pmax and pmaster panels. Part no is 9-102071 http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3977

tried to install this panel but it keeps blowing the 1.6a battery fuse (i tried 3 times but it blew each time) .I bench tested the panel using mains only and was able to successfully set up and test as per the installation instruction. The Bell, strobe PIRs and LEDs worked fine but each time i connected the battery it blew the fuse. I have checked the wiring instructions and cannot see any obvious reason for the problem.Your assistance will be greatly appreciated

I wonder if the Visonic Dual RS-232 Interface Module (Model: 9-100344) works with Powermaster 10?

I would like to know if I can use a GJD sapphire mk3 control box with a Takex PB 30 TK . Both are 12volt is it compatible

Thanks for replying! The reason why is: - an DT detector needs to detect twice: the pir and radar. So this will be great in an noise environment, but in an residential environment, i thing that an pir only will detect an intruder earlier, right? - an radar in residential environment sounds not really healthy. - you don't offer the optex optimal oml-am J

I was under the impression that with the powerlink3 I could access my internal cameras without a connection to a security service providers or rather the IPMP server provided by the service provider? Is this correct?

In september last year i asked you a question if a oml-dam can be used as pir only with the mw disabled. You confirmed this with yes. I ordered 6 detectors which stein use in a residentiall environment for a small year now. During this year most of the detectors triggered a false alarm, some of them more than one. This makes the detectors very unreliable. In the same environment, the optex fx50sq performed much and much better being a lower end detector. So, do you know more about the unreliable function of the oml-dam as pir only? Is the pir only functionality in real world worser than the oml-am detector? Please help because even with those expensive and professional detectors, the system behaves like an cheap unprofessional system.

I installed an I-on40 and two keypads, KP-01. I had a problem earlier in the year whereby the keypads beep indicating 'Duplicate Entry.' I tried replacing the keypads with a spare, but this did not resolve the issue. I had thought that it might be caused by line termination, so I changed that. It worked for several months, with one terminated and the other unterminated, but the 'Duplicate Entry'; has returned. KP1 is located about 1 meter away from the I-on40; KP2 is located about 10 meters away. KP1 is set to address 4; KP2 to address 2. The error occurs whether I try setting or unsetting the I-on40 either manually, by typing in the code, or by using a fob.

I bought the visonic kp-160 from securitywarehouse along time ago. (Over 1 ago) I been waiting for a new firmware update since then for the kp-160. In sweden the kp-160 can handle both manuel type code and tags for over 1 year with a new firmware. When will this firmware be avalible on the uk versions of kp-160. Kp-160 is pretty useless when i cannot type code on it, i thought that could be done when i order it.

I successfully installed my SPC4320 with IR sensor and Elmdene ELM300 internal sounder. This configuration works properly today. I wanted to connect the external Rapier sounder but I have two issues: - Tamper detection: I wired the tamper on sounder as explained in the Rapier manual by choosing the 2.2K resistor on the board and connected it directly to the TR pin on the SPC4320 but the tamper remains faulty even if the sounder is closed and fixed (sensors on the Rapier work well as confirmed by beep from the sounder). - EX+ and EX- signals: In SPC Pro->Panel setting->Controller input and output->Output (please see attached screenshot), I try to commute the ext. bell by pressing the '?' on 'Test outputs' but level of the output remain the same. It works well with the int. bell.

Hi Whether it is suitable for the Garage would depend a sufficient radio signal being received by the panel from the detector ,the xcelr being able to cover the area being protected and there not being any conditions in the garage that might cause false alarms (e.g heat sources or drafts) On the radio Scantronic would recommend the following checks are done 1) We would recommend a radio site survey is conducted to make sure the garage is suitable for radio and you have a signal strength of at least 4 on that detector at the panel. 2) Make sure there is not materials that might block the signal (e.g large metal objects) by the transmitter and the panel or between the two (metal will block or reflect radio signals) 3) Make sure there is nothing that will cause radio interference at the panel (e.g high voltage or other radio transmitters (e.g wireless routers or GSM transmitters) within 1 Metre of the panel) 4) Follow the advice given in the enclosed "guidance notes for wireless alarm system installation" manual Also follow the advice given in the Xcelr installation manual. The i-fb01 is compatible with the ion 40. When it is learnt on it must be learnt to a user in the user menu. It can either be learnt on when adding a new user when the display shows "Press button to identify Remote" (I enclose a guide on adding a new user) or it can be added to a existing user. Also ensure when the remote is learnt to the panel or used with the panel you press the remote key for about 1 second until the red transmit LED flashes.

I ordered a Scantronic I-ON 40 from yourselves and I would like to protect my integral garage. Can you let me know whether an additional Scantronic EXCELR 12m Wireless PIR (XCELR) would suffice? Or should I consider an alternative trigger for the garage? Also, can you let me know which remote keyfobs work with the I-ON 40? I ordered a Scantronic I-FB01 Remote set/unset Keyring Fob (I-FB01) as part of my original order which does not appear to be compatible

TKC 12v DC Relay - Handy Little Relay can this function as a self actuating bell unit - ie: senses voltage failure and activates a relay to sound bell/trigger event? If not do you have such a unit?

We recently purchased a system which includes 2 x Pyronix Deltabell and a honeywell ADE GEN4 metal system. When reading the Pyronix data sheet it states that the bell trigger to the Deltabell must not be in paralled ( ie from one output ) two outputs must be used. The problem is I dont think the GEN 4 panel has a second bell output terminal, or have i missed it? As the deltabell is class 3 we have to install a resistor (4k7) from the +ve to the bell trigger ( to give it aprox 2v or above during normal mode ). With one deltabell this works fine. How should I connect the other deltabell? would a solution be to install a 2K resistor in place of the 4K7 and set both bells to SCB mode?

Setting Viper Shock Sensor With Calibration Tool... Required?
Secware replied to mbsproperty's topic in Intruder Alarms
Yes the sensors should be individually setup per window. However its hard to generalise. It depends on the window fram material and glass type etc. Regarding your false alarms. If a bird flys into a window then it is highly likly to activate, same as your cat walking into the door. Its an impact. You can set the detector to double knock but then obviously the window isnt going to smashed twice. Also yes your window cleaner probably will activate it. Most vibration detectors are looking for whats called a 'gross' attack (big impact) or a pulse attack (lots of little impacts) Obviously hail storms, thunder etc can cause nuisance trips. Vibration needs careful design and is not always the best solution. -
You can utilise either the com-gsm (ceg-0001) or com2400 (cec-ooo1) for sending text messages. The App can be purchased off the Android or IOS Market but they would need to utilise the com-ip (cej-0001) to communicate with it. http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3539 http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=373 http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1194

Is it possible to use an app for arming/disarming an premier Elite alarm, without being connected to a control central ? I know it is possible to control the premier elite with ComGSM and text messaging, but is it possible to use an app with ComGSM, without being connected to a control central ?

Risco beams 72 series (7225,7250 and 7275). The data sheet tells me what the tamper output is but not the alarm output ie if it a changeover relay, contact closure in alarm condition etc.

The capture cards are only compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7 PCs. They do not work with MAC or Linux systems.
