  1. It's difficult. In theory it should be ok and I have one myself without a false alarm yet. The only way to be sure is to only arm perimeter protection and disarm the movement sensors
  2. A volt meter does not prove the battery. You need to put it under load and take the reading again. If the battery is 11 years old id be amazed if it ok. Plus its possible that it has damaged the panel. Batterys must be changed before they fail
  3. We will pass that on, its always nice to hear, ty
  4. Both units need the relevant controller. But the voltek unit isn't wide angle not sure of your requirements
  5. 1. The 20 will suffice but the 50 will give you more flexability 2. You will need to add a wireless portal to the system 3. You will need to add an IP device then setup the app etc
  6. Plus has the big advantage of system config via web browser
  7. For ultimate flexability id recommend the vanderbilt system. The app is very good and does email notification of events.
  8. That's not so straight forward. A movement sensor will see movement. When you say long range can you give is an idea of the area etc to be covered
  9. If you are going to be using in that environment id recommend https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/honeywell-combination-rateofrisethermal-58-p-2449.html And a 12v non latching base
  10. You can change the output type from internal bell to something else while testing.
  11. Which lens do you have on the detectors? What is the location and what is the animal?
  12. I can recommend them all as sounders but on that panel id advise a 16ohm speaker as it will do entry exit tones etc too.
  13. If the rest of the system is over 20 years old I wouldn't use any of it.
  14. 2. Impossible to answer I've seen 200m but also I've seen 35m only way to tell is to test. I use the hkc test kit but the hkc does have a higher tx output 3. It's not the tx that is supervised as such the rx makes that decision. Use caution with any one way device the best thing is to use 2 way gear like Honeywell, hkc or vanderbilt
  15. Iirc yes assuming your using a
  16. If it is faulty we will indeed replace it. Can I just ask the freq of your existing units?
  17. Is the reed failing a meter test? If the pir is flashing all the time, and the power is ok it needs to be returned
  18. I would look at the honeywell dt with mirror optics. The old iq is long obsolete.
  19. Do you mean active beams? And do you have a phone line available
  20. Do you need the dual head takex?
  21. I suppose the easiest way is to say on my own system at home i use the takex. Tried cheaper ones but settled on the takex.
  22. I personally wouldnt use pyronix for that. I rate the takex pir or an optex in that application. But if its just for cctv then im assuming false alarms are not an issue?
  23. I dont know of anywhere risk free and public im afraid. Are you a registered installer with honeywell? That is technically possible if you have the fw file
