  1. I have purchase from Security Warehouse an ADE Honeywell Easy Set Unit with an ADE Honeywell Accenta Metal Gen 4. The instructions for the Easy Set provide Wiring Details for connection to a G3 and an Accenta 8 Panel, but there is no wiring and program changes for a Gen 4. How is the wiring configured and what program changes are necessary. Our Reference Secware 3 sent 19.45 on the 5th of November.

Hi I have an accenta mini g4 hard wired 4 PIR and exit door magnet my panel shows unset when I enter my code zones 1 6 7 8 light up and I have to omit these zones and press the tick to set the alarm which means the entry/exit is omitted I do not have any tamper wires connected to the PIR or door or the panel the only tampers that operate are the bell box and panel cover. the alarm works fine when the zones are omitted Can anyone tell me why zone 1 keeps lighting up and showing alarmed as this is the entry/exit please help!

I have some problems with my WL siren (MCS-730). I have enrolled it as siren 1. When I check signal strength (diagnostics) there is strong connection between the CPU and S1. The tamper alarm works, the tamper alarm is shown on the CPU and it is in state not ready until the siren is back to normal again. My system is a PowerMax+ UK 1.47. However the (external) siren does not react (no sound or strobe) when there is an alarm in the system. How could I fix this problem?

  6. Hi, I had an alarm system and we started having problems with our bell box (kept going off because it was too close to the boiler flue). I decided to replace the bell box and bought a Texecom Odyssey 1E. We've fitted the bellbox but it won't seem to work with my existing system. I'm not sure but it may be that its not compatable with the panel/key pad. I could do with knowing what panel/keypad would work with this bell box, how much they cost and whether you stock such an item. Thanks

What USB to 232 cables are people using for G2 compatibility? It seems that my dimension USB cable will not play ball with the G2 panel. Works fine for dimension panels and associated 232 cable, just not the G2 panel and cable., Thanks John

  8. The latest Dimension Installation Manual (just sent to me by Honeywell) does not mention this portal, but in relation to the RF Rio advises the installer to refer to the instructions that come with the modules. There are no instructions provided with the Portal on registering the devices. The Keypad asks for the serial numbers of the devices, but none of the devices actually identifies any of its numbers as serial numbers. The unique numbers on the D0800M wireless door magnets are too long to be accepted by the keypad. The only numeric-only unique numbers on the DTP18M devices (on a sticky label on the side of the batteries) appear to be accepted but their signals are…

  11. Hi guys, I’m curently using a couple of Texecom RF 360 PIR sensors (from your good selves). I’ve had them in place for several years covering some common hall/landing areas, all good. Last year I got a cat… Even on pulse count=2 these sensors are not pet immune, and as a result I’ve had to stop arming the alarm, otherwise the cat will set off false alarms all the time. ? I need to stick with 360 ceiling mounted sensors as the wiring is in place inside a finished ceiling. I have a little void, so I could potentially change from surface to recessed flush mounting if necessary… Is there such a thing as a pet immune 360 ceiling PIR? would perh…

  12. Hello, I wonder if you may be able to help. We decided upon the security firm to upgrade our existing alarm as they offered what we thought suited us better than the other three firms wanted to install. However, three weeks later we are thinking maybe we should have used someone else. Just one of the queeries I had, and asked about was the actual calibration of the shock sensors, I was told thay are fine, they work as they are, they don't need any adjustment. I seem to recall many many many years ago seeing an installer spending a good while going through each room calibrating each and every shock sensor, maybe this is not required and technology has moved on…

happy new year to everyone! I am programing the panel but not sure which zone type to select for lounge and other areas as there seems to be quite a few to choose from (alert, 24, monitor, ext/en etc) can someone please help me with what they all mean in cpx. I know what a ext/en is and I have selected my front door one as ext/ex but now sure what should others come under, I just want the others to fire when the alarm is set. a programing/engineer manual would be handy if anyone has got it please thanks

  14. I require a wired alarm system supporting a minimum of 8 detectors with the following key characteristics: Ability to set/unset using the lock on the final exit door, eg using a Chubb 3G114 Single Pole Shunt Lock or similar If the alarm is activated the ability to disable the strobe (in addition to the sounder) after a predetermined period of time, so there is no external indication of the alarm having been triggered Can anyone please recommend the a control panel / sounder combination which is able to support this configuration Many Thanks KB

Please can anyone help with the following re. Intruder Alarm system Scantronic 9800+. (9827) In brief, there is a code showing as bF which I understand through d/loading the User manual means: battery fault on the control panel. The alarm has been going off several times a day for nearly a week and I disconnected the ringer several days ago but am too worried to open up the control panel in case it then goes off again and I can't press the code to stop the noise once the faccia is removed. However, I need to see inside in order to know what type of battery I need to buy to replace the present faulty battery. Any assistance would be much appreciated, Thank you, Tum…

I have a twenty years old DA Systems Abacus 6P control panel. Each of the six zones is split with two PIR's on each zone. The existing PIR's are believed to be by Comet (but could be Stella or Apollo)and each has an integrated zone spliter so enabling three wire connection(12v+ 0v and tamper). Can you supply a replacement for the PIR's.

  18. Having received my domonial kit it had no instructions with the panel. I've spoken to Honeywell and they have emailed a copy but it seems to suggest that I need some programming software to program this panel... There isn't any with my pack. Can someone please tell me what's going on?

  19. I recently purchased a galaxy flex 20 and 4 DT7450-EOL motion sensors. I wired the sensor according to the instruction manual of the motion sensor. the fault loop to zone 1, Alarm test and tamper to zone 2. The "test" to the +12V since the flex control panel doesn't have a "remote led control". see galaxt installation manual page 17 for the wiring schem in the flex manual. see page 3 for the wiring of the sensor This doesn't seem to work. Can anybody tell if the wiring is correct? I find it odd that no connection is made on the V+ and V- of the sensor.

Hi & thanks for providing this great resource. The house currently has a Scantronic 9800 which I removed & reinstalled (with new sensors & cabling) during an extension 9 years ago - works fine. I have built a detached garage with playroom above and want to wirelessly link 2 PIR + 2 smoke detectors to the house alarm - don't really want battery powered detectors though. Cooper Security recommended 703R & 762 but didn't really want to talk to me as not a pro installer. I will also be needing another keypad for the system. What do you recommend please. Many thanks, Roger

TICKET QUESTION I have been installing Visonic Powermax systems for a while now and now have a customer requesting a PIR with built in camera. I understand the Powermaster 30 is the only solution? This uses the Next Cam PG2 for which I can't find a price. Also I need to know if images only go to central monitoring station?
