I have a Visonic Powermax Wireless Alarm system installed. After changing the batteries on some of the PIR sensors, the system keep calling me at random saying "tamper alarm". Can somebody please advise how to clear all of the error messages so the system stops calling me.

  2. Hi guys, just a quickie. Can you tell if the the Visonic Powermax+ Quickfit Kit (inc Wireless sounder)kit has the dialler built in? Can you set and unset via your telephone after an activation and can it send you a text message to let you know when the alarm is set/unset? I can't find any spec online fort his product. If you could email me a link that would be just as good. Have a good evening. Dan.

Hi was wondering if anyone could help, I've just installed my first visonic powermax complete intruder system and I have a problem with the wireless siren. What seems to happen is I enrol the siren using the selftest button and it operates normally then after a couple of days the siren doesn't sound under an alarm condition and seems to totally drop of the system. I'm now wondering if it's a dud battery or a possible pcb fault. I've tried using the diagnostic function to check and keep getting the (not ok) message and I've also measured the battery and it seems fine but I'm not sure if the draw is dragging it down once connected. If anyone can help it would be much apprec…

Wanting to buy the visonic plus control panel, 5 wireless door contacts, brown colour, 2 wireless pet tolerant pir's, 1 hard wired pir, 1 wired external alarm, 1 dummy alarm box, and 2 key fobs / Can you give me the best options kit wise, and cheapest way of buying these, and total costs please ? Thanks, Alan. alanbl@sky.com

  6. Hi ! 7. Hi all, Following a burglary at a neighbours house, I'm looking at "self-install" burglar alarms; I've had a couple of quotes from professional installers, and I just can't justify spending the amount they are asking for - especially when prices on here seem so reasonable. Basically, I want a fairly simple wireless system: * main box on the wall under the stairs (where there is power), * 4 wireless door sensors around the house (one on the front door to be entry/exit, and one on the sliding back door to be omitted on a part-set), * one wireless PIR for the lounge (where the dogs never go), * a keypad to arm/disarm by the front door (hardwired to the ma…

Optex 20m External Twin Beam https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/cctv-equipment-c-1/detection-c-1_24/optex-20m-external-twin-beam-p-84.html Hi there, I am looking to have this type of system used in my house. To cover all usual access’s. Could you advise what infrared systems would be best and what control panel to streamline them with?

  9. I think before - the best way to protect a window was to have a foil running around the glass.. Now I see a lot of electronic gadgets. However I am not sure how reliable they are. Say vibration sensor. I guess it is easy to cut glass above/below such a sensor with diamond cutter and simply disconnect it with a knife or undo latches and open window slowly or get through not disturbing the sensor using the hole... I mean - if the intruder is an idiot and will smash the window with a brick it works but otherwise - unlikely... am I right? is there other means to protect glass area? If the window is obscure and design and beauty considerations arent important - is …

The default user code for texecom systems is '4321' but it may have been changed.

  11. There is no real difference between an intruder alarm and a burglar alarm. A burglar alarm is often the phase that is used to describe an intruder alarm but intruder alarm is the more accurate term as not all unwanted intruders are burglars.

Hey, My old ademco accord has stopped working due to the transformer being broken. I am now looking to install a new system myself using existing wiring etc, but I'm not sure what system would be most suited and easiest to install. I am thinking of either Texecom VERITAS R8 or the Scantronic 9448. Any advice, tips or help would be appreciated. Ta.

  13. We get this question in support quite a lot. A Panel doesnt come with a battery as it needs to be sized to suit the demand of the system. Plus you need to consider recharge time and battery recharge load. Its never best practice to load a panel or power supply up to its maximum. Its like driving at maximum speed of the vehicle everywhere or having the music at full volume all the time. EN norms (the current UK standard for Intruder Alarms is EN50131 There are differing requirements for standby at Grade 1,2,3 and 4. Grade 2 and 3 systems are the majority of professional systems installed in the UK. Grade 2 requires a 12 hour standby time. Grade 3 24 hours (…

What would you get? Thanks in advance…

What is the difference between the Texecom Veritas R8+ and the Veritas Excel??? According to the comparison chart there doesnt seem to be a difference in hardware? Is there a difference in software? If so what are these differences? Once again securitywarehouse* are the CHEAPEST by 68p with their competitors triton direct! Id use securitywarehouse though as you have good service!

  17. hi i bought a dsc power832 alarm off of ebay about 3 years ago and have just got around to fitting it and realised that the installer code i was given is wrong. it's badged as british gas and apparently they had them made with there own defualt engineer codes. anyway i want to use as much of this old alarm as possible before i scrap it and so i was going to buy the ADE Accenta Mini Gen4 with LCD Keypad that you have for sale. my question is will the dsc pir's work with this ok? (i'm assuming yes) and also i see that it requires a 2.1ah 12v battery. my old alarm has a 12v 7.0ah battery so the voltage is the same. but by the looks of pictures they seem to be a diffe…

I'm new to this forum and although I tried to read several posts I'm not sure if I came across this topic. I'm thinking of buying the G2-44 for domestic use. On deciding which wired Motion Detectors to choose I'd like your opinion on which brand: Would you advise to stick with Honeywell products (such as the DT 7550A) or would other products such as Rokonet iWise DT15, Pyronix FPKX15DT3, Bosch TriTech, etc will do a better job and fit better with the system? I'm open to suggestions... Thanks!

  22. There is not 1 intruder alarm sensor that can be used in all environments. For example a PIR cannot be used in rooms with fast acting heat sources. Whilst a Dualtec cant be used in close range to glass. I wrote a post detailing how they work and how to avoid common mistakes when choosing a detector technology as well as the manufacturer How Intruder alarm Movement detectors work

  23. Good afternoon, Can you help me please. We are building a garage at present and want to use a wired alarm (we normally use the Pyronix euro mini) but we also want a remote wireless key fob that uses the 433mhz frequency so that we can add this new alarm onto the existing key fob that controls the auto gates, outside lights and the garage door. The Pyronix KEYFOB-WE is on the 868mhz frequency as are most of the main manufacturers key fobs. Is there either a good company making a wired system with a 433mhz fob available or a 433mhz wireless alarm expander/key fob that can be added to a Pyronix alarm? (I’m aware that the 433mhz frequency ma…

  24. Hi, Will a Robot vacuum cleaner trigger the alarm? I'm thinking about buying a robot vacuum cleaner but I'm worried that the vacuum cleaner will set off the alarm system. What can I do to avoid false alarms. Is it best to buy pet tolerant movement detectors with dual technology or is it enough with PIR? Or will the alarm go off no matter what kind of movement detectors I use? Best regards Tomas
