Intruder Alarms

I have a Veritas alarm believed to be the r8 which is around 12 years old and ready for an upgrade. Is it possible to use the lcd keypad as an additional rkp on this unit or do I need to stick with the original keypad with led's? Helps would be appreciated. I don't really want to upgrade the main pcb etc. Thanks.

hi, just looking at putting an order together, looking at veritas 8 excel with prestige detectors and 3e bellbox, not sure which door contact are suitable though, any help would be great. the doors are upvc. is this a decent model or would you reccommend something else. it is for a diy installation so looking for something that isn't too complicated. i;e what is eol cheers

Hi I wonder if someone could help me please.I have a Veritas R8 with 5 zones 2 keypads,2 panic Buttons.We went away for the weekend came home electric Had triped alarm had gone over to battery and flattened both alarm panel and bell box, I turned electric back on alarm powered up and recharged but both key pads won't do anything every button you press has the same tone it seems to have locked out.The battery seems ok because if I disconnect from mains it lasts ages.Is it time for a new panel? I have a 10 year old Veritas R8 Plus Control Panel. I would like to add a Veritas Excel RKP (the one with the LCD display). I can see from the Texecom website that the two should be compatible. My question is whether the RKP will be compatible with a control panel which is as old as mine (ie I am worried that there has been a software update or some other change made since my panel went into service which is needed to control the Veritas Excel RKP). Hi! I purchased an alarm system, a Viasonic Powermax+, from you in september 2009. Since we have 3 cats (weight 4,2 4,2 and 3,5 kg) I got the pet tolerant PIR:s. Tha alarm has been working perfectly until last night when we all woke up from the sounding alarm. When you wake up at 4 AM from a deep sleep and realize that the alarm you have come to rely on not giving false alarms, is sounding, you get up really quick, I promise. Armed with a knife and a steel pipe I searched the house but found nothing. Since we have a lot of snow I could also check for tracks outside the windows and back door, but nothing. Hello all, I fitted an alarm system a few years ago and put contact breakers on my windows. To save on wiring I "shared" the different wires within the 6 core cable I used between 2 zones, with a common tamper circuit, on the rear of my property. I have now had sliding sash windows fitted which have made the contacts unsuitable. I was thinking of replacing them with vibration detectors but noticed that some have LED's. I assume this means that they need a power source to operate - the same as the wiring for a PIR detector. Are non-powered vibration detectors available or will I have to rewire with 8 core in order to maintain my zone separation? Thanks for any help…

I lost the EOL resistor for a viperGLX; that should go from +12v T5 to FTA T8 as viper instructions. Can someone tell me what value the EOL Resistor is required. Instructions seem not want to tell? Thanks Oz

Hi all - first post here. Does anyone know if the Scantronic CS 430 pet immune PIR is the same as the Visonic K9-85? Wanted to buy the Visonic K9-85 on Security Warehouse but can't see it in the listings but the Scantronic is. Looks the same. As does the K9-80 with the Scantronic CS 440. I seem to remember that Scantronic and Menvier merged into one effectively but something tells me that Visonic are also with these guys too? Never ever had a problem with the K9-85's. Thanks.

I have installed a Powermaster 33 along with a KP 250 Keypad. After months of no problems, the keypad display is now showing "No Communication" whenever any button is pressed. There is therefore no possibility of entering Installer Mode etc.. Is it likely that the communication failure is due to the keypad, the module inside the Powermaster control box or is it possible to reset the comms between the keypad and controller somehow? I would appreciate any help in resolving this matter. Thanks in advance.

The Visonic Powerlink which enables internet access for Visonic Powermax alarm seems to be very difficult to get hold of! I see you have it on this website but it is out of stock. Do you know 1) When it will be in stock. 2) Can it be bought without any cameras (sold with one here) as it is quite expensive and I just want to have the internet access. I already have other cameras.

I would like to purchase a Visonic Powerlink3 for my Powermaster10 system. Can you confirm I can use it to directly access my alarm panel remotely, rather than needing to use a Power Manage system please? I am hoping I will be able to access my panel by using the IP Address of the system.

Hi, I am experiencing odd behaviour with a Visonic Powermaster 10. Due to a planned extended power cut, the panel was unplugged for 24 hours, during which time the battery went flat. The panel was reconnected to the mains when the power returned and it eventually booted back up. Since then it has suffered 3 false alarms from separate PIRs. Should I do a factory reset to try to resolve the issues? If so, is the only option a hardware reset? When I open the back of the panel I can see three pins marked DEF and 3 marked RST. Good morning to all! I just purchased a Visonic 33 kit from SecWare, and I am experiencing trouble with regards to the communication between the panel and KP 250 keypad. I already opened a ticket with Support and awaiting instructions. Quite often the keypad stops responding whilst a "communicating..." message is displayed. In that case I need to remove the batteries from the keypad to get it working again.. Sometimes communication between keypad and panel is lost completely (a message "no communication" is displayed). Hi, I have recently naively purchased and installed a powermaster 33 alarm unit along with the IP Powerlink 3 module and a camera PIR. I thought it would be as simple as install, get it working, attach to the network and link with the app. I see this in not the case. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have done some more googling and found from the visonic website links to the powermanage and powermaster interactive side of things. They mention having a CMS or remote management company... I just want to run some software from my Mac(which is on all the time) and access via the app... Any advice grateful Thanks

Hi, i had a Powermaster-10 kit installed about a year ago. Recently the ability arm via a SMS message (arm xxxx) has stopped working. Using SMS to ask the alarms status (status xxxx) works and when use the communications test option via the control pannel i get the Auto test SMS message sent to my phone. I've tried differnet pass codes for differnet users etc. Plenty of credit on the sim card. So all seems to be working except the ability to arm? Any thoughts or suggestions on what else to try/check. I have a Visonic Powermax + system and my wireless siren has stopped working, so I purchased a Honeywell AG8 siren that is going to be hardwired as a replacement from security warehouse. I am not sure on what connections on the AG8 to the connect to the powermax system, can anyone advise please On the Honeywell AG8 I have TR- V- ST- V+ S- On the PowerMax + panel I have the following -HOLD EXT INT +12V +12V PGM Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Hello Questions about your kit refered: Visonic-Quick2Fit -Does the panel include the battery (should not, which reference to order). -Same question for the external siren -I can't find any reference for PIR detector from VISIONIC in your catalogue, so don't know which one from your catalogue could be compatible with the panel. Could you please advise (for pet tolerant only). Thanks

Hi Guys, I recently bought a Visonic Powermax Express as a replacement panel for my PowerMax Pro - after 6 years it decided to give up the ghost. Anyway, GSM Network is pretty weak in my village - I'm getting it sorted BUT I can't seem to set my system with the fault? I could with my PowerMax Pro, it'll still set the system, but yet this one won't? Am I missing something? The system currently says NOT READY and looking in the trouble log, it says GSM Network Failure. No other faults. Any advise would be a great help? Regards, Michael
