Intruder alarms, programming, design advise, detector selection.

  1. Started by Vishal77,

I bought a complete system from you towards the end of September (orders 12995 and 13006) and have recently installed the alarm in our new house. All is well except that I get I am getting SETTING FAULTS showing on the LCD keypad from the zones that are on the exit route. System sets and unsets correctly despite this. Have I made a mistake somewhere? I have checked the manual and searched the internet but can find no mention of setting faults anywhere. Hope you can help or point me in the right direction. Many thanks.

  2. Can you kindly advise ideal system for the following criteria; Looking for alarm with ID Plus for my PIR's due to wiring setup of them. 15 sensors in dwelling. Only need the control panel and keypad as all other hardware in situ. wishlist: if system has sms or dialler also remote arm and status. Price up to approx

  3. I purchased a control panel from you pre-Xmas and I now require compatible PIR's for the Scantronic 500r (x4) and door contacts (x2); can you plse provide the necessary ref. numbers and unit costs, so that I can raise an order with you.

  4. Now I've finally manage to install the alarm and test it. Everything seems to work fine except for one thing. I keep getting error message on line (line failure). I have connected a GSM module and no fixed phone line is connected. GSM-module works fine as I received an SMS on everything that happens or goes wrong. I must have changed somewhere in the menu to indicate that the center is connected to fixed telephone line! though it is not. I'm very grateful if anyone can help me with this.

  6. we have a question about the leds should they be left on after initial walk round test on the alarm? this is referred to on the installation manual to turn them off? or can they be left on?

  7. My current home burglar alarm system 'Accenta G3' (product code 8SP401N) is broken. The transformer has blown in the box due to recent power cut in my area. I currently have a Accenta G3 box and a seperate wired user control panel linked to the box. I have 4 wired sensors in the house 2 for the doors and 2 in rooms. There is an alarm box on the front of the house. We were wondering if we could simply replace the box with the new Accenta G4 system but still keep the old G3 user control panel and the existing sensors set up in the house and alarm box on the outside of the house as is i.e. is it simply case of un-wiring the existing G3 box, removing it from the wall and rep…

Reading the tecnical specification for the honeywell Accenta compact it says its maximum battery size is 2.1 A/h. As 2.1 A/h are getting harder to find, (ie they are now 2.2 or 2.3 A/h) is the size critical or is there a slight tolerance?

  13. Hello, I have a Visionic Powermaster 10 alarm system that I want to upgrade to connect to BroadBand. I believe the unit I need is the Powerlink 3? I have a couple of questions ... Is this the right unit for my alarm? Once connected to my home router, am I able to use it right away, for example, through a telephone app, to monitor my alarm system, any ip camera etc? Do I HAVE to subscribe to any third party service or is that just an extra option? Thanks

  14. We have used lots of your V2 GSM auto diallers to good effect. One of our sales guys asked me about the possibilities of a unit that will send an email. Do any of your products be arranged to send emails.

I am having problems with my scantronic intruder alarm system, and is having problems to find some one in my area to fix it. Would you have a list of repaires in my area which is in upper edmonton London N18. Thanking you Michael

I have an old, very old alarm system! It uses a 4 wire CCL configuration which operated relays in a hard wired system. I would like to upgrade so that I can update/upgrade with a few more detectors. The Homelink 55 system appears to fit the bill as I reckon I could use it with my existing hard wire detectors and allow me to expand into new areas without doing more hardwiring ( add a few PIR's). As I get my neighbours to check out the house and feed the pets while I am on holiday I like to keep entry/exit operation of the alarm system simple. The question . . . can you utilise keyfobs into the Homelink 55 system giving the custodian a car remote type ac…

Hello SecurityWarehouse I still havent got a bellbox for my system yet (Accenta G4)... I was thinking of getting one that is hardly visible and I wanted quality so I thought of Texecom! I have been looking at their Odyssey's and I think the 4E does just that. On your website, you have the Odyssey 4 and the Odyssey 4E live backplates in either clear or blue. If I was to get a "clear" 4E live backplate will the strobe lens be clear along the outside or blue? Basically the strobe is around the edge of the unit and I would like to know if that wrap around strobe reflector blue or clear? Its just i've seen pictures and some…

Hi, I'm after some advice on my Accenta G4 system, as with most good DIY project a purchased it a few months ago and only reently got round to fitting it (a wedding got in the way). Anyway i've installed it and powered the system up and two issues occur. 1) There is no power on light on the system or the key pad (or any light on any of the sensors). 2) Although the key pad (and alarm) operates (i'm assuming from the battery), when i enter the security code on the kep pad it says tamper lockout. Now i can accept that there may be a tamper fault somewhere but i wondering first whether its all related to the power problem and whether there is perhaps a f…

  21. I bought the visonic kp-160 from securitywarehouse along time ago. (Over 1 ago) I been waiting for a new firmware update since then for the kp-160. In sweden the kp-160 can handle both manuel type code and tags for over 1 year with a new firmware. When will this firmware be avalible on the uk versions of kp-160. Kp-160 is pretty useless when i cannot type code on it, i thought that could be done when i order it.

  22. I have a Scantronic I-ON 40 which is installed in a closet upstairs along with the wired keypad which has the LCD display and speaker (the one supplied with the control panel). I also have a i-rk01 wireless keypad downstairs for setting/unsetting the system upon entry/exit. Unfortunately, because the i-rk01 does not have a display or a speaker, it's pretty much useless as you can't hear or see what you're doing from downstairs. I am unable to relocate the wired keypad downstairs as I cannot run a cable, so is there an option to purchase a wireless keypad with a display or speaker? Or is there a separate wireless speaker that I can simply install in the closet downstairs a…

  23. Started by Don,

I'm looking to update a wired system, new control unit and 6 PIR, (the existing door contacts and panics will be unchanged) any suggestions on most reliable and simplest models. It seems Texecom and Pyronix are the most reliable but which models and which PIR's for domestic use bells only with 2 Zones and approx 14 items on it??

  24. I am looking for some alarm PIR sensors that will operate on a 24v DC supply for use on a double-decker bus that is being converted to a Men’s Shed workshop. The standard bus supply is 24v and the alarm contacts would need to be either N/O or N/C as the alarm control panel does not use EOL resistors. Please could you suggest some suitable devices.

I have recently moved to this property which employs a 9427eur-80 rkp grade 1 fire alarm. Unfortunately there are no instructions on how to operate this alarm and I am wondering if you could possibly supply some information regarding it's operation etc. I understand that the house was built about 4 years ago. Thankyou in advance and wishing you all a happy new year.
