  1. Started by Mike,

I am almost there.. a few questions left. I am looking for a down to earth intruder alarm system for my house. My electrician will fit it. I think this ADE accenta will do. I am looking for a small external sounder. Is the Eurosec XS3D a good option? I would like to order the one with the orange bottom, so which items do I have to order? As I want to add a speech dialler in the future is it right that the only one ADE panel which supports this function is the ADE accenta metal Gen4? Or does the other models this as well? Which battery should go with this metal ADE accenta? My electrician wired 4 core wires to the PIRs. Is that OK for standard PIRs? If so wh…

Hi All, Hoping to order from securitywarehouse.co.uk in next few days but do have a few questions I hope they could help me with please? Property currently has an ADE Accenta 8 Mini fitted, but want to replace with Optima Compact Gen4 as something has blown on the 8 Mini PCB... system is 10 years old, will the current (s)elf ©ontrolled (B)ell work with this newer Optima Compact Gen4? Does the Optima Compact Gen4 come with backup battery or is this a seperate purchase? And finally, has anyone any opinions on this alarm or have a link to the wiring for it please? Many thanks in advance. GPH01

Hi, I have ordered the Honeywell Accenta Mini G4 contorl panel with LCD remote keypad and is still waiting for the delivery. But my electrian has asked a question where should the control panel is located. He suggests to put it inside the cupboard next to the MCB board. However, I am thinking where is the internal bell? If it is inside the control panel, so I won't be able to hear the bell as the control panel is inside a cupboard and the door is shutted. However if the bell of the system is in the LCD keypad, there won't be any problem as it is located next to the entrance light switch. Qs: Is the internal bell inside the control panel? Qs: keypad descriptions in…

Hi, From forums and even neighbors I hear that The Securitywarehouse is in fact the only place to get an alarm system at a reasonable price. Only the quantity of the products creates some confusion with me, therefore I would like some advice. I am looking for an alarm system to install in my house next to my home automation system. As I see on your website I have the choice over various systems. My concern however is that all components are compatible with each other. I am looking for the following: A hybrid central unit (wired and wireless) with battery. 3 wired keypads 5 PIR detectors (both infrared and microwave) with pet immunity. (wired…

Hi, I have received an old firmware version of the PowerMaster-10 panel, so currently I'm not able to install a working intruder alarm due to failed enrollment of MC-302E PG2 (magnetic contant) and KP-160 (Keyprox panel). "Unknown dev. type" is shown in the Powermaster-10 display. I have create a ticket in your support center, but haven't received a reply for a while... ticket id:# 783738 Please update me on the issue. Thanks! Regards Morten

  9. I need to install a Eurosec LCD RKP keypad to replace the existing keypad which is working but worn out (keys don't work very well). If I just remove the old one and connect the existing wiring to the equivalent connectors on the new one will everything just work as normal or will the system need to be reprogrammed?

my omicron 7000 intruder alarm is giving problems. I think the panel is OK, but the outside bell box doesn't sound.I intend to first replace the bellbox, if this don't resolve the problem then I will replace the control panel. Or do you recommend that I just update and replace both items. I want to reuse the wiring and security devices. can you please recommend a suitable reliable replacement and give me some idea of the cost of the units. many thanks David

My elderly parents have a basic alarm system which has worked perfectly for over 20 years. The control unit has now gone faulty and requires replacement. Could you recommend a replacement unit which only has to cover two PIR zones and one entry/exit. The existing unit is key control under the stairs which is no longer ideal and I would prefer to fit a remote keypad just inside the entrance door. The external box should also be replaced so if you feel a complete kit would be a better deal then if you could recommend one it would be great. I should say that they are now looking to move to a retirement home so the system will probably only have to last them for about a year …

Hi. I had Scantronic 9800 system installed 20 years ago. It has given good service but the push buttons have become faulty over the years and we are now on the last four buttons that work reliably. Is there a compatible replacement available for the original 9825 remote keypad? If yes is it simply a case of switching off power, disconnect battery and swop over wires on keypad or does it need an 'expert'?

My existing panel was faulty so I puchased a Risco Gartec 490x from you. I liked it beacuse it is hybrid wireless and we are having an extension built, which will make it easy to add additional movement detectors. The control panel and keypad are installed and work fine apart from one problem. I get a warning - off chg volts high / battery/fuse fault - it takes a about 30 minutes after exiting the engineer mode for the fault to register. Its a new battery (again purchased from you) and the fuses are all Ok - any ideas what I have done wrong. Also given that I am not a registered installer will Risco technical help talk to me or am I on my own. regards

We have a Eurosec LCD panel intruder alarm in our house which we dont use, but there are 2 panic alarms in the house (little white box with red button on top and a little keyhole on the front), which are set to green so we assume are active (we havent tested as we have no keys to turn off?!?!). Does anyone know if you can buy replacment keys as my daughter is getting big enough that she is bound to press it soon and we are worried we wont be able to turn it off !! We would like to de-activate these alarms.

I have an old, very old alarm system! It uses a 4 wire CCL configuration which operated relays in a hard wired system. I would like to upgrade so that I can update/upgrade with a few more detectors. The Homelink 55 system appears to fit the bill as I reckon I could use it with my existing hard wire detectors and allow me to expand into new areas without doing more hardwiring ( add a few PIR's). As I get my neighbours to check out the house and feed the pets while I am on holiday I like to keep entry/exit operation of the alarm system simple. The question . . . can you utilise keyfobs into the Homelink 55 system giving the custodian a car remote type ac…

  25. I have an existing system with a Scantronic 500+ control panel but have no instruction manual. I know the access code but I don't know the engineers code or anything else about it. I have replaced all the batteries in the system but have triggered the Tamper alarm and I don't know how to reset this. If I replace the existing control panel with a new 500+ then: 1. Can I programme this with my own engineer code and entry code ? 2. Can I use my existing PIR's (Type 520r) and keypad (Type524r) ? 3. Does the instruction manual contain all the information I need to do the above ? 4. Is there a simpler solution to my problem ? Thanks in anticipation of some good advi…
