Hi there, I have a Yale Smartphone alarm system which works fine. I also have some extra CCTV cameras looking out the front and back of my house. I spend a lot of time working away and the house is fairly remote. I really want to be able to trigger a siren if I see someone snooping around the property at night, and I dont want to wait until someone has actually broken in! I use powerswitches that can be activated through my smartphone to turn on anything plugged in - lights etc (Yale Easy Fit Power Switch For Easy Fit). can anyone provide list of kit for easy install and use of intruder alarm kit using tel communicator eg Informa speech dialler, key fob set/unset,can these things be used with control panel with onboard keypad if so which one and are they also compatible with each other.thanks jw

I would like to combine wired detection (given available existing cable connection) and wireless detection (for new detection points and keyboards). Hello I have an Ademco Vista, I need to replace it. We have a 4 bed house, probably about 7 PIR's. What kind of system can I put in to replace it? I'm not sure what type the bell box is, maybe you can deduce that from the panel name. Currently connected to the Vista is receiver and speaker which is used with a IR/Radio keyfob to arm/disarm. Ideally we'd like to replace that with a similar system, and additionally put in a dialler. Regarding diallers, is there a DECT version, our phone line is not next to the panel? Cheers Andrew

Hi I'm interested in getting the Visonic Powermax+ Quickfit Kit (inc Wireless sounder). What Keypanel do you recommend? I assume it's recomended that you put the control panel in a closet or something and not close to the door? Also, can the whole kit run on battery only? if so, for how long? BR

I'm just powering up a Texecom Veritas Excel system with an LCD keypad. The keypad is receiving power as it is illuminated, the power LED is lit and the keypad is accepting key presses. However, the LCD display remains blank and displays no characters. Am I missing a configuration setting somewhere or is the keypad/panel faulty? Thanks!

Hello, The LEDs have stopped working on my Novagard 6 bell box, the siren is working fine though. The user guide talks about spare led holders but not sure if the bell came with spare LEDs in these holders. Can I buy spare LEDS? Tried google and did not find anything related yet. I am not sure if there would be spare in the bell box so thinking of buying them before I climb up the ladder and open the bell box. Any help advise would be high appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I installed risco cpx with novaguard 2 years ago, would anyone know what onboard battery (nimh I dthink)oes novaguard 6 comes with?is it 6v or 8.4 volts?my cpx panel is asking me this. The reason I am asking is because in logs I get Nov 1 chg(ma) Hi and Nov 1 on-chg Hi even though all the parameters are correct,not sure if this could be to do with me not setting the correct battery volts. the error in logs have been there since day 1 but last last I had a false alarm and in log it said " external bell tamper" and I want to just rule the volt setting out. Hi Could you tell me what passive would replace this one as it has 3 extra connections to the normal 6. These are marked C+ , E- , and FTA. There is a wire looped from the power minus connection to the FTA connection and a brown wire in the cable connected to the C+ connection. What is the purpose of these extra connections ? The reason for replacement is that this passive leaves the led indicator on permanently which doesn't seem correct. I have always used risco quads in my own setup and they seem very reliable. Would one of these fit the bill ? The panel is a Scantronic 9800. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction for a replacement. Thanks in a…

Ticket Question Hi, I have an old pyronix panel and paragon keypad on a wired system, I would like to replace it with a wired telecom panel and a nice looking keypad, would the bell box and PIRs and door/window contacts need changing? Or could you advise what panel and keypad would be suitable to change without changing all PIRs bell box and contacts? I have a new optima accenta gen 4 panel and an existing pyronix belle box. I have wiring diagrams for both but need help as to which wires go where! Hi, I bought an Optima Compact Gen4 over two months ago. Since then I have been trying to connect it to a bell box from another manufacturer without success. Honeywell technical support simply say that I MUST buy their Reson8 siren! The bell box model is Mars 2000, the instructions and circuitry are attached. I have tried numerous combinations of the panel's A/D/B terminals to the bell's H-/H+/SO terminals but the bell is never triggered by the panel. I know that the bell works because I can manually trigger it by changing the voltage on H+ or H-. Any tips before I give in and buy the Reson8? Thanks...

Afternoon, I have recently installed an optima compact gen3 system in my house and added a remote keypad. The system is working fine and walk tests etc with no problems but whilst it is day made the remote keypad and main control box emit a double beep approx every five minutes (very annoying). I've gone through the operating manual and the engineers manual I have and it seems this would be the system telling me of a line fault for the communications system. However, as you as probably aware, there is no comms system on the compact panel. any idea how I can stop it beeping at me please......? Thanks, Neil Annals.

We have had an electrician wire up the alarm and the alarm did go off when he tested it. When you set the alarm, however, it does not go off when you walk passed either of the 2 pir's fitted to the system. He has gone home and given up! any ideas??

Hello I'm hoping for some advice if the following is possible and if so, which products are suitable. I have an old Optima XM system with hardwired contacts for the Front Door Zone. I am trying to understand if there is a suitable product that allows me to change the hardwired door contact to a wireless battery operated contact. Is there a wireless converter I can instal next to the control box that can take the wireless signal from the contact and convert to a hardwired connection between the wireless converter and the relevant zone contacts in the Optima controller. I have optima MX6 old model of burger alarm system which is faulty and looking for update alarm control panel only. Hi I prevously bought a Powermax + system from you and I'm having two problems. I can't seem to be able to pair the external siren (MCS 710). I follow the instructions to the letter but when I transmit and press the self test button no pairing is done, it just start sounding (loud) My second problem is similar, I try to pair the MCM 140 keypad and it feels like the pairing is complete but I can not turn on the alarm via the keypad. I'm I missing someting here? Best regards

hi i had a scantronic 9448+ style installed a number of years ago which has worked perfectly, but since the main fuse was knocked, the mains light on the panel does not illuminate and the panel does not power up. However, there is now a couple of lights on behind the keypad, which had all gone off after the main fuse was knocked out. Also, after the main fuse was knocked out there was a few weak noises from the panel...these have since stopped. Even trying to key in our code, there is no audible sound or any changes to the state of lifelessness. Can you advise us on how to remedy this problem, or suggest a 'like for like' replacement?
