I am looking to replace an existing system (Elkron) with a new one and would appreciate any recommandation from an expert. I would like to combine wired detection (given available existing cable connection) and wireless detection (for new detection points and keyboards). I need to cable about 24 points (detectors, keyboards, smoke detectors, sirenes) and about 24 wireless points (windows/doors detectors, smoke detectors, IR detectors and keyboards) and would like detetors with some intelligence against false alarms (digital signal analysis?). Hello I have an Ademco Vista, I need to replace it. We have a 4 bed house, probably about 7 PIR's. What kind of system can I put in to replace it? I'm not sure what type the bell box is, maybe you can deduce that from the panel name. Currently connected to the Vista is receiver and speaker which is used with a IR/Radio keyfob to arm/disarm. Ideally we'd like to replace that with a similar system, and additionally put in a dialler. Regarding diallers, is there a DECT version, our phone line is not next to the panel? Cheers Andrew

Hi I'm interested in getting the Visonic Powermax+ Quickfit Kit (inc Wireless sounder). What Keypanel do you recommend? I assume it's recomended that you put the control panel in a closet or something and not close to the door? Also, can the whole kit run on battery only? if so, for how long? BR

I'm just powering up a Texecom Veritas Excel system with an LCD keypad. The keypad is receiving power as it is illuminated, the power LED is lit and the keypad is accepting key presses. However, the LCD display remains blank and displays no characters. Am I missing a configuration setting somewhere or is the keypad/panel faulty? Thanks!

Hello, The LEDs have stopped working on my Novagard 6 bell box, the siren is working fine though. The user guide talks about spare led holders but not sure if the bell came with spare LEDs in these holders. Can I buy spare LEDS? Tried google and did not find anything related yet. I am not sure if there would be spare in the bell box so thinking of buying them before I climb up the ladder and open the bell box. Any help advise would be high appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I installed risco cpx with novaguard 2 years ago, would anyone know what onboard battery (nimh I dthink)oes novaguard 6 comes with?is it 6v or 8.4 volts?my cpx panel is asking me this. The reason I am asking is because in logs I get Nov 1 chg(ma) Hi and Nov 1 on-chg Hi even though all the parameters are correct,not sure if this could be to do with me not setting the correct battery volts. the error in logs have been there since day 1 but last last I had a false alarm and in log it said " external bell tamper" and I want to just rule the volt setting out. Hi Could you tell me what passive would replace this one as it has 3 extra connections to the normal 6. These are marked C+ , E- , and FTA. There is a wire looped from the power minus connection to the FTA connection and a brown wire in the cable connected to the C+ connection. What is the purpose of these extra connections ? The reason for replacement is that this passive leaves the led indicator on permanently which doesn't seem correct. I have always used risco quads in my own setup and they seem very reliable. Ticket Question Hi, I have an old pyronix panel and paragon keypad on a wired system, I would like to replace it with a wired telecom panel and a nice looking keypad, would the bell box and PIRs and door/window contacts need changing? Or could you advise what panel and keypad would be suitable to change without changing all PIRs bell box and contacts? I have a new optima accenta gen 4 panel and an existing pyronix belle box. I have wiring diagrams for both but need help as to which wires go where! Hi, I bought an Optima Compact Gen4 over two months ago. Since then I have been trying to connect it to a bell box from another manufacturer without success. Honeywell technical support simply say that I MUST buy their Reson8 siren! The bell box model is Mars 2000, the instructions and circuitry are attached. I have tried numerous combinations of the panel's A/D/B terminals to the bell's H-/H+/SO terminals but the bell is never triggered by the panel. I know that the bell works because I can manually trigger it by changing the voltage on H+ or H-. Any tips before I give in and buy the Reson8? Thanks...

Afternoon, I have recently installed an optima compact gen3 system in my house and added a remote keypad. The system is working fine and walk tests etc with no problems but whilst it is day made the remote keypad and main control box emit a double beep approx every five minutes (very annoying). I've gone through the operating manual and the engineers manual I have and it seems this would be the system telling me of a line fault for the communications system. However, as you as probably aware, there is no comms system on the compact panel. any idea how I can stop it beeping at me please......? Thanks, Neil Annals.

We have had an electrician wire up the alarm and the alarm did go off when he tested it. When you set the alarm, however, it does not go off when you walk passed either of the 2 pir's fitted to the system. He has gone home and given up! any ideas??

Hi I prevously bought a Powermax + system from you and I'm having two problems. I can't seem to be able to pair the external siren (MCS 710). I follow the instructions to the letter but when I transmit and press the self test button no pairing is done, it just start sounding (loud) My second problem is similar, I try to pair the MCM 140 keypad and it feels like the pairing is complete but I can not turn on the alarm via the keypad. I'm I missing someting here? Best regards

hi i had a scantronic 9448+ style installed a number of years ago which has worked perfectly, but since the main fuse was knocked, the mains light on the panel does not illuminate and the panel does not power up. However, there is now a couple of lights on behind the keypad, which had all gone off after the main fuse was knocked out. Also, after the main fuse was knocked out there was a few weak noises from the panel...these have since stopped. Even trying to key in our code, there is no audible sound or any changes to the state of lifelessness. Can you advise us on how to remedy this problem, or suggest a 'like for like' replacement? Hi i tried to part set the accenta Gen4 as described in manual , but when trying to set the system, only i can set programme one , it is said in the manual that while setting the system after entering the code we need to chose the program ( 1,2 or 3) , but it is not comming up. please advise? regards

Hello from Germany, I am going to buy a home-security-system from your shop and need some information on programming and controlling the system via PC. There is the Scantronic homelink 75 which seems to be connectable to PC via USB is there a control-software included in your package ? And second the Risco Wisdom - nothing to see about PC-connection and Software in you shop ? Would you please inform me about this two sets, thank you and regards Helmut

Need Help, i installed my alarm system all fully working, went to add a new infa red, now they all have stopped working, i have reset it loads of times, i have evn tried just riging1 infa red but still they wont come on. Any Ideas? Thank you Daniel
