  5. Hi, I've just installed a Scantronic Homelink55 and the hardwired side of this has worked perfectly straight away. However the wireless side has proved more problematic ? I am tring to 'link' the RFX16 unit with 2 x 703r transmitters, I can get the reciever into learn mode, either -- flashing for the sysetm to allocate the channel or, for instance with 09 flashing (I have configured it to addres from zone 09 onwards). I have the 703r set to have the Ln set to E -enabled; however, with 12v connected the green nlight is on but unless I change the oP there is no activity from the RED LED!! I've tried marrying the both 703rs and have tried both connected to the panel bus …

I think it's 12v but is this via a plug in transformer or does this somehow get it's power from an existing panel ? Also what frequency is this, is it 433 or 866 Mhz. Thanks George

  14. Hey all, I recently moved out of a house that had a Galaxy G2 system. I have recently bought a Flex 20 for the new house we've just moved to, and everything is now working as expected apart from one thing I can't get my head around. On the old system, we had a Wireless Magnetic Sensor on the front door. This was set up so that when we Full Set the system, that Function was a FINAL zone. If we Night Set (or Part Set), the function was INTRUDER. This meant if the door was opened whilst in Night Set mode, an immediate alarm was triggered. If it was opened during full set, the entry time was triggered. To set this up, we could go into Engineer mode, into the Zone, in…

Hi. I'm trying to find a light beam sensor to work on a driveway, to send a signal to my house when a vehicle or person breaks the beam. Can be hard-wired or wireless - the location is about 120m from the house - the back entrance to a farm. I think you must do such devices but I can't see them online.

I am currently installing an alarm/fire system in my home and have a few questions someone may kindly answer: 1. Does the Eurosec CPX have a built in dialer to call in the event of an alarm (so all I do is add a bt line) and if so does it tell you what the alarm is i.e zone, fire, intruder etc. 2. What type of cable should I use for the smoke heat detecors - normal alarm cable? 3. What smoke heat detecors are compatable with the Eurosec CPX? 4. The alarm unit will be mounted in a seperate room only accesable from outside (it's a outside utility room) although the utility room is secure would it be better to have the main unit within the house? 5. Finally, can you …

  20. Hi all, I hope this generates some discussion and hopefully for me an informed conslusion which will send me down the right path to purchase. I am looking at installing my first wireless alarm system (I have installed a few wired systems in the past but that was a long time ago) so technology has improved somewhat however I have some specific requirements which I am hoping some expert guidance will help me choose an appropriate system. The property is a new build with 3 levels, there is a garage within the build however there is no access from inside the house (only garage door access), gates to each side of the property and the rear of the property has a 30 ft …

  22. Have Gardtec 350 panel which requires a closed tamper circuit. Can you please suggest a suitable relay to use with the mcr-304 to give a NC output.

  23. Hello, I have just finished some work to tidy up the wiring on the Accenta Gen4 system fitted in my flat. Basically what I did was re-route a lot of the surface cabling under the floor, and also change a couple of the sensors. Now the system is up and running again it all seems to work fine, apart from the door contact. The door used to have a surface mounted Honeywell contact, and one of the changes I made was to swap that for a flush contact hidden in the doorframe (part is CQR FC508/WH). When I test the output from contact back at the panel with a multimeter is it fine; reads 2 Ohms with the door closed and then open circuit with the door opened. However…

  24. Hope someone can give some help or suggestions. After being broken into earlier in the year, I have finally got round to installing the alarm system that was purchased a couple of months ago. Every thing seems to work, that is after a minor wiring fault on the global system tamper, which turned out to be poor connection on vibration sensor (front door). The problem is the external sounder will not function at all, apart from the tamper circuit. There is definitely power from the control panel and the standby battery has 8 volts. I have tried the trouble shooting instructions in the installation manual, which is make temp connection between SAB B and D for the sound…
