Intruder Alarms

Hello all, I fitted an alarm system a few years ago and put contact breakers on my windows. To save on wiring I "shared" the different wires within the 6 core cable I used between 2 zones, with a common tamper circuit, on the rear of my property. I have now had sliding sash windows fitted which have made the contacts unsuitable. I was thinking of replacing them with vibration detectors but noticed that some have LED's. I assume this means that they need a power source to operate - the same as the wiring for a PIR detector. Are non-powered vibration detectors available or will I have to rewire with 8 core in order to maintain my zone separation? Thanks for any help…

I bought a Visonic TOWER-20AM MCW Outdoor Motion Sensor on your web site in November 2012 and I had 4 false errors in the last 2 days. The message that I received on my phone each time is IRP MASKED ! First time I was home and nobody was outside in the Sensor area. The Sensor worked fine for more than 6 month and nothing change on the configuration. I don’t know what to do, could you please help me with that or explain me who can help me ?

Hi, We have one a 'Gardtec 800' system installed in a premises in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland. We need to order a new Keypad for the system, as the display is not functioning correctly. It is a 6 wired keypad. Could you recommend a keypad, or would it be best to completely replace the control box and keypad panel? If we could get your advise on the above it would be much appreciated.

Hi Does anybody know if the external sounder in the Pyronix Enforcer Kit3, ENF/KIT3-UK, needs a power supply? It looks as though it is just battery powered from the description. I know some of the other Pyronix sounders require power when they are lit after dark. Can anyone confirm please? Thanks

I have a 10 year old Veritas R8 Plus Control Panel. I would like to add a Veritas Excel RKP (the one with the LCD display). I can see from the Texecom website that the two should be compatible. My question is whether the RKP will be compatible with a control panel which is as old as mine (ie I am worried that there has been a software update or some other change made since my panel went into service which is needed to control the Veritas Excel RKP). I would like to upgrade our Galaxy 512 with Ethernet module in order to control the system remotely and to when need be, handle programming and updates through Internet interface, rather than using one of the MAP's in the system. Are there any other simple alarms which are able to be controlled by an app as the Flex is? We are currently looking at the Honeywell Galaxy Flex 20.

We currently have a Karisma Plus wired system installed. There are 9 zones. It is getting creaky, I have repaired it several times, time for a change. Our Ancient house is not good for wifi, so I want to stick with a wired system for reliability, using existing wires as these are hidden. The Karisma uses a 3 wire id device, which made wiring and set up easy. Is there an equivalent today? Or what do you recommend? Integrating fire detection / alarm would be useful.

hi i have just purchased a new house, it has this alarm system fitted ADE LOGIC SIX it is live and the passives appear to be working however i am unable to find a key pad, or key fob, to set the alarm , do you supply spare key fobs ? and are they easy to pair with the alarm fitted in my house ? any information would be a great help
