Intruder alarms, programming, design advise, detector selection.

  1. Started by Secware,

I have an existing Accenta Gen4 Alarm Panel - 8SP411A with 8 wired sensors. I want to replace the control box with one that has a LAN or WiFi interface for connection to my local LAN and is capable of sending alerts via email and has a web interface contactable on the WWW. I want to retain my wired sensors but also have the option of adding additional wireless sensors. Can you recommend a suitable control box?

  2. Can Honeywell easy set fobs be used with ADE Honeywell Accenta Mini Gen4 system..alone . or is some extra sensor / equipment needed

  3. I have a system in a gun club that uses the scantronic 9800 which is now becoming unreliable due to its age. It is also in a humid environment which does not help! I would like to replace the unit with a new one so am interested in the 9752. Could you tell me if this is a good choice and if it is then can I (not an alarm engineer but good with electronics) swop the unit over easily. Thank you for your advice. S. Cooke

  4. could you help me identify location of the "auxiliary power fuse"in control panel. I want to remove it while I replace PIRs.

  8. I need a new alarm panel with voice gsm support for at least 16 hard wired + wireless. I did not know if I should get a gsm voice dialer or a new panel.

  9. On the Accenta Mini Gen 4 Panel there are 2 U shaped staples connecting the tamper circuits for the keypad and siren. Should these stay in place at all times or be removed when the keypad and siren are fitted?

Hi We have a customer who has a GD06 gsm dialler. He now wants another one but it seems they are now obsolete. Will the GD04 do the same job.? He only uses a single input to trigger an sms alarm message. Is the programming the same. Thanks in advance for your reply Regards Mark

Hi, Recently installed a Galaxy 2-20 for a client and they said they have had trouble unsettling the system before, so went round and checked everything, front door is on a door contact and set as final door, detector near front door is programmed as exit. Now I noticed that when unsettling they leave the front door open, could this stop them unsettling the system?, I don't see why not myself?, although I did notice that he said when he unset the system he entered the code and then pressed A, which is the procedure for setting the system

  14. Hi there, I am currently in the process of renovating a house and I am looking to install a fire detection system that not only meets building regulations for a three-story house but also offers higher protection than the minimum LD3 level. In the past, I have used a Honeywell Galaxy panel with fire zones, but that was a few years ago, and I am sure there have been advancements since then. I've been considering the C-Tec Hush Pro solution, but I'm concerned about nearing the 16-device limit. Running the cables around the house in a single run seems feasible, especially with the ceilings down and floors up, but I'm wondering if a larger 2-wire panel with a loop p…

I am having difficulty in setting up this unit. My main exit entry is via zone 5 full set A. At night the main exit rout is via zone 2 and set with B. The problem is that if you enter through zone 5 when part set in B the system does not recognise zone 5 is open. Can anyone help?

  16. Please can you advise how we reset the security code as our system is currently set to the system default. Our model number is CP8L LCD

Homelink 75 panel – before you despatch it would it be possible for me to speak to someone for advice? My panel currently runs for about 3/4 hours and then dies. When I replace the rechargeable batteries it’s fine again and when reconnected to the psu it appears to be running from the mains supply – can these psu’s repeatedly fail over the course of a few hours under load?

  22. The system was installed and commissioned as part of a new build. When we moved into the building End of January 2011 we started to set the alarm. On two occasions the alarm has gone off in the middle of the night. on both occasions the keypad has been totally blank but still powered because you can see the back light. on both occasions the only way to stop the alarm has been to open the control panel and disconnect the battery. The electrician (that always fits rafiki alarms) on powering the system back up found that the system thought the keypad had been tampered with. The first time we thought it was the tamper sensor and adjusted it. The second time with the same faul…
