MIKEH Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 My Honeywell Optima Compact intruder alarm system, now 16 months old, is activating tamper alarms at random times, in both Day and Set modes. These reset straight away. I have linked out the panel terminals for both the sensor tamper loop and the remote LCD keypad tamper loop, which takes a wiring or tamper switch fault out of the equation. The tamper alarm still activates every couple of days (or nights .... it went off at three this morning!). Question; does this indicate a control panel hardware fault or a software fault? And if the panel is faulty, is it still under warranty? Quote
Secware_Tech6 Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 You missed one. The sab. It's often that especially as the temps change etc. TRy looping that out. If it still does it then its either a dry joint or a failed panel tamper switch. If be surprised if it was either. Also when you have looped out the detector and keypad tamp circuit did you remove the wires. Ie it can be a voltages issue. Again its unlikely and id say it will be bell and or bell cable related.
