  2. Started by Secware,

i'm sorry but yesterday i received your ex-35r optex detectors and, comparing with mine, i discovered that inside my detector there is one more transmitter, probably compatible with my General Electric "Simon" alarm. here you can see the manual (in italian) of my "Simon": http://www.hesa.com/index.php?page=shop.getfile&file_id=658&product_id=515&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=37 in this manual it is written that Simon works with any "autolearning" detector SX ITI at 433Mhz. if you want, i would like to send you a picture to show the transmitter that is inside, and if you have it i can purchase, or if you have detectors compatible with my alarm system …

It keeps sounding at random times, with no tamper fault and no error message on the control panel. The problem seems to lie with the sounder only.

  6. I recently purchased a Honeywell galaxy G2K3WR-01-C and ADE Honeywell 8IR103 PIR. I require some technical support for wiring the Activ8 detector (ADE Honeywell 8IR103 PIR). I have the usual manual which comes with the panel and the detector but it is not that clear. I am simply putting one detector per zone and resistors at the detector end. I which to know where the resistors are actually connected to and where cables are connected to. Would you be able to assist please? Also, can you advise what speech dialler would I need for this system please ?

I'm new to this forum and although I tried to read several posts I'm not sure if I came across this topic. I'm thinking of buying the G2-44 for domestic use. On deciding which wired Motion Detectors to choose I'd like your opinion on which brand: Would you advise to stick with Honeywell products (such as the DT 7550A) or would other products such as Rokonet iWise DT15, Pyronix FPKX15DT3, Bosch TriTech, etc will do a better job and fit better with the system? I'm open to suggestions... Thanks!

When fitting a Scantronic 9651 panel recently I noticed it had a rechargeable battery soldered onto the PCB. I guess this is to maintain settings it case of total power failure/disconnection. Does this have a design life of 5 years like most other re-chargeables?? If so it doesn't look like it was designed to be easily replaced. And how would you know it needed replacing anyway - until it's too late? Phil.

There is no instructions for Galaxy flex, but forGalaxy 2 series it says: TR- to T (I put this to T-) V- to 0V ST- to "Any Output programmed as Bell#" V+ to +12V S- to "Any Output programmed as Bell" Both ST- and S- to output bell? Same bell output? Or how should I wire?

  13. Hi, How do you change user and engineer code to the Texecom premier 24 panels. The manual gives details to change from eighter 4,5 or 6 numbers. I have tried with no success to program with 4 numbers and won't except only if I use 6 digit. Please if any one can help I would be grateful as I don't want to use 6 digit. Thanks.

  15. I installed a system a year ago which I purchased from you and it seems to have developed a fault. Initially when a walk test was done it wouldnt identify some of the zones and then removed the cover from the unit and I cannot get rid of the cover tamper warning so cannot set the system. Do you think the control unit has gone U/S. steve

  16. Started by Mike,

I am almost there.. a few questions left. I am looking for a down to earth intruder alarm system for my house. My electrician will fit it. I think this ADE accenta will do. I am looking for a small external sounder. Is the Eurosec XS3D a good option? I would like to order the one with the orange bottom, so which items do I have to order? As I want to add a speech dialler in the future is it right that the only one ADE panel which supports this function is the ADE accenta metal Gen4? Or does the other models this as well? Which battery should go with this metal ADE accenta? My electrician wired 4 core wires to the PIRs. Is that OK for standard PIRs? If so wh…

  17. Can anyone tell me why & what the flashing light on my control panel means when it reads "RF problem"? thank you any info would be appreciated. My system is a wireless Scantronic 500r.

  19. Hi I have been going on at my folks for years to get an alarm system. My father is competent with electrical wiring, but I am clueless with alarm systems and compatibility issues. Can someone kindly reccommend a system or components for a system to cover the following specification that I've worked out: Bell box - tamperproof, foam resistant Internal audible quad alarm (my father is semi deaf) 4 pet friendly pirs - one fat labrador 100 m white cable Control panel - that can programme the four zones, door contact and garage contact - all armed for vacant house or some armed for occupied bedtime/overnight User friendly Lcd keypad (large text display if possible) t…

  24. Started by Secware,

Can you tell me if I were to buy 2 or 3 different system PIR's would they all work in any alarm system. I have a system fitted that requires additional PIR units for more protection. I have had a home security police team look over my house. I would be grateful for any advice on this matter.

  25. Started by andrew h,

I am looking at the few control panels and have a few queries which I hope you can assist with. Install is for detached 5 bed house. Suggestions are: - Texecom Veritas R8 Plus - Scantronic 9651EN - Pyronix Sterling 10 1. Believe all are grade 2 but not entirely clear. Is this correct? 2. All seem to be 8 zone but with the Sterling it has an additional dedicated PA zone. I am correct that on the others would need to allocate 1 of 8 zones for PA? 3. Last install a few years back was a Pyronix Paragon which we had no problems with. Is the new Sterling of similar quality to the Scantronic and Texecom which seem to be a lot more popular? 4. Assume all ha…
