Intruder alarms, programming, design advise, detector selection.

Dear sirs, I have an intruder alarm as above. It has two wired remote keypads. Is the Accenta rkp still available or is there a current alternative that will work with this system? Thank you,

Hi, I've never actually used one of these systems before but I've got a work colleague that's recently purchased one from yourself s. three quick questions 1. Is there a cheaper alternative third party keyfob that is compatible with this system that will talk with it, I'm guessing it's probably the same as a Honeywell galaxy g2-20, or visonic powermax where you have to use the manufacture branded keyfobs? 2. If they purchased the WIFI module I understand there's apps available to monitor and control the system remotely but could they also use the apps available for there phone so it works in the same way the keyfobs do?, would this include a simple set/unset …

Hi I would like to add a couple of remote keyfobs (KTC805) to my existing Dominial installation. Is this the same process as adding a new user / proximity tag or is there a different process? Do installation instructions come with the keyfobs? Thanks Mark

Hi, Could you please confirm if the following batteries are suitable for the Optima Compact Gen4 and if they will fit into the enclosure ok? They are both made by Yuasa but one is cheaper, so what's the difference and which is the better one? http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=350 or this: http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1339 Also, could you please confirm if you have both the Optima compact in stock and either of the above two batteries? Finally, if I order today, when can I expect delivery? Thank you

  6. I am looking for some alarm PIR sensors that will operate on a 24v DC supply for use on a double-decker bus that is being converted to a Men’s Shed workshop. The standard bus supply is 24v and the alarm contacts would need to be either N/O or N/C as the alarm control panel does not use EOL resistors. Please could you suggest some suitable devices.

  9. Started by duccen,

I was thinking of getting a wireless alarm like powermax with a GSM backup (think it is a good feature to get events sent by sms when kids come home from school and so on). Main reason to have a wireless is that it is easy to install. I have a house with 5 rooms on the groundfloor. There are 11 windows and 4 doors. The thing is that I have a dog and a cat. Weight of the dog is 33kg. So the questions are. 1. Are the pet IR detectors reliable? They say up to 38 kg so is should be ok, but want to avoid false alarms. 2. If I want protect all windows, what would be the best method. Switches and vibrations sensors on all? It will be rather expensive... 3. I've r…

  10. Hi, I'm looking to install an alarm system for a steel shed with no windows. Alarms are all very new to me so I'd appreciate some advice. What I want to achieve is: - An audible alarm activated when the door is opened. - A system that runs on mains power, but which has a battery backup of at least 2 weeks. - Preferably some way of disabling the alarm before entering the shed, avoiding the need to have a period to allow for a code/key to be used to disable the alarrm once the door is open. - Surface contact sensors on the door. Is this achievable, or am I looking for something that doesn't exist? I'm open to other suggestions if anyone has any. All advice gr…

  11. Having received my domonial kit it had no instructions with the panel. I've spoken to Honeywell and they have emailed a copy but it seems to suggest that I need some programming software to program this panel... There isn't any with my pack. Can someone please tell me what's going on?

  16. Hello, I have some question about the alarm system. We have two cats. Now I'm looking for the right alarm system for our house. I have 26 wired motion sensors and still need 4 wireless door and 7 wireless motion sensors. Which alarm is the better and the more modern, the Honeywell Galaxy Dimension GD-48 or the Galaxy Flex 50. Second question, I have the wired motion sensor “Active8 PIR with Pet Immunity”,( I bought them last year in England), are they compatible with Galaxy Dimension or Galaxy Flex. Or do I need other new wired motion sensors. The last question, what is the meaning of "Links" in the alarm system. Because the Honeywell Galaxy Dimension GD-48 have 64-Link…

  18. Hi! Bought a Visonic Powermax+ alarm from you and have run into some problems regarding master installer code and installer code. The problems shows on both the central unit and the keypad unit. When I installed the alarm, I (of course) changed the default codes to my own. However, as far as I can remember I only changed 2 codes where off one being the user code and the other one either the master installer or the installer code. Now I can't seem to access the alarm using the other alternative of installer codes. I would be glad if you could give me some hints to where I've gone wrong. The setting and fault behavior right now are as follows: 1. When first changi…

  19. Thank you for the supply of the new remote keypad for my Visonic PowerMaster 10 I have registered the keypad without any problem. I started to register the prox tags but made a mistake, so deleted them. When I check the system, it clearly states 'none registered' When I try to re-add a tag, I now get the message "no free location". I removed the batteries from the keypad then I 'disconnected' the keypad from the main unit then re-registered the keypad with the main unit, hoping this would 'clear' any issues, but I still get the same message when trying to register a prox tag: "no free location" If I can't register any tags, the remote pad isn't a lot of use to me. P…

Hi, I'm going to replace my existing (faulty) Eurosec CPX alarm and I'm intending on purchasing the Texecom Premier Elite 24-W Kit from you: 1 x Premier Elite 24-W Complete Kit (GED-0013) 5 x Premier Elite Ricochet Impaq (GBB-0001) additional sensors for the windows (impact) and door (using the included magnetic contact) 1 x Premier Com2400 (CEC-0001) for communications I have a few questions though: Will the com2400 fit inside the control box supplied with the above kit? Which backup battery should I purchase for the control panel? Can I use my existing external sounder or should it be replaced with a new Texecom Odyssey Sounder (either wireless Ricochet…

I want to place an order. We would like to change our G2-44+ for a GD 48. First i want to ask, can we move the settings from the G2-44 to GD 48 or do we need to set all settings when install? Can we buy a RS232-wiring and do it from a computer or do we need to purchase a sw to do it? Or is it free from honeywell? If not free, can we program all from the MK7?
