Hi, We are looking for a UL approved device and the Honeywell unit does not have that, please see my full specification below Our application calls for motion detection within a space (floor area of max 6mx4m) mounted at a height of nominally 2.5 – 3m with angle and rotational adjustment to optimise operation. Hence the request for the Bosch mounting bracket. We only require a single relay contact for detection of motion. (switching duty 24Vdc at < 10mA) PIR supply 24vdc operation preferred if possible, if not 12Vdc operation is OK. This application is for the US market and UL approval is specified. Hence the initial request for the Bosch PIR. Tamper faci…

  4. Hello, I would like to install a wireless alarm system in my house. The walls and floors on all levels are made of concrete/masonry so wireless strength is an import consideration. I am also keen to integrate the alarm with other smart home products i.e. Nest smoke alarm, Belkin Wemo products, etc. My idea is that if the alarm is triggered I can set the lights to be turned on. Whilst smart home connectivity is desirable, the following items are essential. iOS/Android app for remote monitoring and control. I want a proper internet app not just an app that sends sms commands to the control panel. I can hardwire the control panel to my router. Support for 3 ke…

  6. I have a domestic Itec Horizon alarm system with shock sensors wired on every window and door sensors on the front and back door. The systen does not use PIR's. The main Horizon box has developed a fault and I understand these are quite old now and no longer available. Can you tell me what a modern equivalent system is that would be compatible with the existing installation - ie the window and door sensors and the price?

Hi, I've never actually used one of these systems before but I've got a work colleague that's recently purchased one from yourself s. three quick questions 1. Is there a cheaper alternative third party keyfob that is compatible with this system that will talk with it, I'm guessing it's probably the same as a Honeywell galaxy g2-20, or visonic powermax where you have to use the manufacture branded keyfobs? 2. If they purchased the WIFI module I understand there's apps available to monitor and control the system remotely but could they also use the apps available for there phone so it works in the same way the keyfobs do?, would this include a simple set/unset …

  10. Hi all, wondering if anyone can help please: I have a wired home alarm system using the Honeywell G2-12 panel. This was an existing wired system and I replaced an old domestic failed panel with a G2-12 panel and MK7 keypad with Keyprox. I now have a programmed up and working inruder alarm system that can be set and unset with users and PIN entry on keypad. I need to have a Prox Tag programmed in so that the system can be unset from Night Set to keep it simple for the wife to unset the alarm without her glasses first thing in the morning as she is normally first to come down - she is long sighted so only needs glasses for reading which she forgets to bring upstairs…

Just installed the Accenta G4 panel and all worked well. a few days later a fault occured to the entry/exit. Problem is break to the pair of contact wire. Replace with the spare and makes and break but the problem is the panel does not register open/close of the contact but ok with the multimeter. Another factor that I can assume is new carpet was fitted and wonder if the fitter damaged the cable which I think would be most likely as it was all working fine before the carpet was fitted. No short between contact wire and tamper wire. Any help would be grateful. I will run a temp cable this weekend and see what happens.

  13. Hello, I have some question about the alarm system. We have two cats. Now I'm looking for the right alarm system for our house. I have 26 wired motion sensors and still need 4 wireless door and 7 wireless motion sensors. Which alarm is the better and the more modern, the Honeywell Galaxy Dimension GD-48 or the Galaxy Flex 50. Second question, I have the wired motion sensor “Active8 PIR with Pet Immunity”,( I bought them last year in England), are they compatible with Galaxy Dimension or Galaxy Flex. Or do I need other new wired motion sensors. The last question, what is the meaning of "Links" in the alarm system. Because the Honeywell Galaxy Dimension GD-48 have 64-Link…

  15. Hi, I already have a Galaxy G2-44 with : 2 Keyprox - MK7 & MK8 1 RF Portal - C079-2 1 Internal siren 5 wireless motion sensors - Honeywell DTPI8M 4 wireless door contacts - Honeywell DO8M 6 wireless Smoke Sensors - Honeywell DF8M 2 Wireless CO sensors - Honeywell CO8M I want to add a Honeywell ECO1005-A to this system as there is not a wireless heat-rising sensor for this system that I can find. First, it's wired so will it work OK with the wireless sensors or will there be any conflicts? Also, do I need a latching or non-latching base for this? Hope you can help and thanks,

Hello can anybody give me some advice on adjusting the volume on the above alarm system to low, altering the volume adjustment on the PCB has no effect the volume tone is quite loud, I had an accenta 8 system previously installed and had the same problem?. There is an intenal speaker fitted. Thanks

  17. Started by maxima,

I understand that conventional unmonitored alarm system has 3 major components - keypad (to arm/disarm etc),control panel (which monitors sensors and sets an alarm when armed), dialer (if you want to call outside). I understand 'proper' system will have keypad separated from control panel and the control panel should be in a metal box in less accessible and visible place. so it should take sometime for an intruder to find it and smash it. however the question - what do you do with dialers? there are not a lot of places where the land line socket can be placed in the property hence intruder simply need to go quickly around (dialing a number and playing message shou…

I currently have a visonic powermaster 33 installed and working nicely. I have the gsm module, which is connected to a central monitoring server thing run by a third party. I'm looking at buying the powerlink 3, will this enable me to connect into the alarm myself so that I don't need to use a central monitoring station? I know that the powerlink 2 allowed you to do this, but not sure about the powerlink3. I have the Powermaster 33 PG2, and I've confirmed that it's got firmware 18. So, before I buy it please can you 100% confirm that if I buy the Powerlink3, I'll be able to connect into it WITHOUT needing to pay for a powermanage server? Ie I'd connect directly t…

  20. Hi - I have a Scantronic 500r+ wireless alarm system - and need to add a new movement detector sensor to the system for our kithen. Ive looked on your website and there seem to be a number of different movement detectors that go with Scantronic wireless systems - so wondered if you could advise which one would be best to add to out system. Our present detectors are all square-ish - and there are a couple that look similar - but could you pl let me have a model no I should order? Could you either pl email me or leave a message on the above mobile. Thanks.

I am looking for a recommendation for a wireless single channel transmitter and receiver to be used as a PA button. The receiver would be wired to a Scantronic 9651. Would I be right to think the Visonic MCR-304 is now obsolete?

Hi, I've been looking into the Galaxy dimension system for my home for a few reasons, I need to protect the house and two out buildings and I like the IP/GPRS options. Now an oversight on my behalf is the use of RS485 between modules and remote panels, I'm used to systems like the the Honeywell G4. When doing up the house I've used 6 core standard cable, so my problem will be the cable to the remote panel by the front door. The length of this cable is under 10 metres, will I get away with this? As for the 2nd panel upstairs and a powered RIO out in the garage I can easily run cat5 cable. I don't normally ask questions like this but this cable has been run and plastere…
