Intruder Alarms

Hello, I wonder if you may be able to help. We decided upon the security firm to upgrade our existing alarm as they offered what we thought suited us better than the other three firms wanted to install. However, three weeks later we are thinking maybe we should have used someone else. Just one of the queeries I had, and asked about was the actual calibration of the shock sensors, I was told thay are fine, they work as they are, they don't need any adjustment. I seem to recall many many many years ago seeing an installer spending a good while going through each room calibrating each and every shock sensor, maybe this is not required and technology has moved on…

I need Reed switch for a motorized door shutter to detect if it is closed properly. What model do you suggest?

I have a Menvier TS690 Security alarm that is now obsolete, Can I use the CQR contact SC513/WH/G3/B with this? The installation manual appears to say 'yes' but the existing contacts that I am replacing are not resistored.

Panel has become unreliable and believe it is the panel not the wiring. I have 12 proximity sensors, 12 smoke detectors and 2 heat detectors. I also have 3 remote access keypads with simple LCD display. I would like to add another 6 sensors. My questions are: Should I reuse the existing wiring? (its an old house and took a great deal of effort to fit professionally). Which system would provide the most intuitive fault finding? Which system / manufacturer offers the most scope for the future? Can I reuse all the existing detectors? Would ideally like to be able to look in from a pc or iPad to see status? Any comments or suggestions gratefully received.

How many PCs can I put the software on?

I have recently installed risco CPX control panel and have done some programming but it would be nice to have a manual/guide which describe every options in details, has anyone got any guide/manual please? How do I change the master default code of 5678? I have managed to changed the engineer default code from 1234, now when I enter the master code the alarm sets off even though I say "NO" to set system option, any idea what wrong I must have done? thanks

My internal sounder registered fine with the domonial control panel, and on viewing through engineering mode always registers a high signal (7/10) However, whenever I set (full or part) the alarm, typically every other time I get the 'INT SOUNDER RADIO LINK' error. I've configured the system to ignore these errors and set regardless without requiring confirmation - but my worry is there is a fault which might mean the sounder does not go off in case of intrusion. Last week I tried changing the batteries (on the off-chance the batteries supplied were low given the packaging was open), but this did not solve the problem. I'm intrested in a low cost wireless alarm system that I can connect into a PC. I would be looking at about 5 PIR sensors and 2 door sensors to start. In an ideal world multiple codes or RFID tags could be used to set unset.

I recently purchased a Honeywell galaxy G2K3WR-01-C and ADE Honeywell 8IR103 PIR. I require some technical support for wiring the Activ8 detector (ADE Honeywell 8IR103 PIR). I have the usual manual which comes with the panel and the detector but it is not that clear. I am simply putting one detector per zone and resistors at the detector end. I which to know where the resistors are actually connected to and where cables are connected to. Would you be able to assist please? Also, can you advise what speech dialler would I need for this system please ?

I am programing the panel but not sure which zone type to select for lounge and other areas as there seems to be quite a few to choose from (alert, 24, monitor, ext/en etc) can someone please help me with what they all mean in cpx. I know what a ext/en is and I have selected my front door one as ext/ex but now sure what should others come under, I just want the others to fire when the alarm is set. a programing/engineer manual would be handy if anyone has got it please thanks

Hi, I had some problem getting the SMS work with the service provider here in sweden and therefore I'am thinking about using the internet and try to avoid using an ordinary alarm central. 1 Do you have any equipment I can use to send alarms via internet from my alarm panel? 2 Is there any crude variant where I can let the alarm call my mobile and I can get some status and maybe even control the panel with my mobile phone? Hello I have installed system now, only one Magnet contat for Door entry.(Elmdene EN3-LSC) I've done programming. Disable all but door contact. When arming system: Door 'n Hall fails. System don't arm, only beeping( Program 1 set). Walk test gives 0 to Door What's wrong: is my door contact wrong kind, maybe false wiring or missprogramming ? Please help ! Respect !

Hi, I purchased my second powermax+ kit (order number 26605) from you in March and I have now I have come to install it I have found out that the indoor siren (MCS-720) is unable to be enrolled on the powermax+ Would it be possible to return this item and have it replaced with a compatible wireless siren? However, there are a few questions I haven't found information about. - The system has partition support but still only can handle one partition according to the brochure. How come? - Is the central proximity tag compatible out of the box or do you need a remote keypad? - Is your kit supplied with Euro mains plug? - If not connected to a monitoring centre is the alarm info sent only by SMS to numbers by choice or is there also voice dialing involved?

I built my house 17 years ago with a wired alarm system. The six core wiring is inside the wall panels etc. Over the years I have replaced a couple of PIRs etc but now some of the other components are starting to fail (e.g. some parts of the LED displays do not show etc).
